Strange that Ultimate would come preinstalled as it is normally only Home Premium.

Try to open an elevated command prompt type slui 4, follow the instructions to make the robocall.  If it fails, stay on the line to talk with activation agent.

Otherwise, you will need to contact Dell.  They must have sold you a special Ultimate OEM disc at some point?

  • Error while trying to upgrade to Vista SP1

Well, I know this is an old topic with lots of KB articles, but I couldn't find anything to get my installation to work. For some reason any automatic updates offered never upgrade when it is released - this may have been due to my Dell audio player that I've changed since. I have downloaded the manual installation of Microsoft version and ran the installation. The green bar got all the way to the end before crashing with an internal error.

Most of the articles suggest that I have download the update tool system which I did and also ran. He got about 75% of the green progress bar and then stopped. This has happened a couple of times and now it won't even start running. The window appears but the progress bar does not start moving.

I really don't want to have to do a clean install and lose all my files. I'm sure there must be a way to solve this problem, but everything I tried (including ongoing execution using a boot Installer Clean and a safe Startup Mode) have not worked. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

    1. you receive all of the error codes or error messages?

    Method 1:

Since theSystem than update preparation tool also fails to install, you can read the following article and try to reset the Windows Update components and check.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

    Method 2:

You can also try running a SFC scan to check all corrupted files.

You can read the following article to launch the SFC scan:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • BOOTMGR is missing, press Ctrl + Alt + Delete while trying to install Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - Bit

Now that I got my 64-bit Vista in the mail and quickly install disc he jumped in my DVD player. The installation process went well until I was asked to choose which hard drive, I tried to install Vista on. I tried to format my hard drive to this screen, I was working with Vista 32 bit before that and saw no need to divide my two work machine with two separate versions of the same operating system. After formatting the hard drive, I have been unable to click on the 'next' button and engage the next step of the installation process. There was a message is displayed to the bottom of the window, as well tell a word about the installation of a machine already running windows. I would be happy to provide further information to the topic of my problems during this step, but my problems do not stop here.

After you notice the message described above and do not get farther in attempts to install later, I decided to try to reinstall the 32-bit version of Vista and then maybe try to upgrade to 64-bit. However when I put in the CD at retail, rather than receive messages at the start of a disc, I have met with the harsh reality of "BOOTMGR is missing Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart." Since then got trapped in a painful loop switching between disc 32-bit and the 64-bit disk in the hope that it would finally let me begin with him.

In addition to this logically faulty tactics, I also searched some online solutions. I made sure that my DVD drive is first in my boot order. My computer will not yet make Flex and give me the ability to boot from a disk.

My question is this; How can I get my computer let me boot from a disc again?

I will probably also need help to drive problem hard he, but as I can not even in a position to provide information on this issue at the time I need to have the above resolved dilemma first.

  • Oxc190010b error while trying to upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows

Original title: try to update windows 8 to 8.1 and says "Install Error" with this code: oxc190010b

How can I do that I really want windows 8.1

    Help, please!

    Hi Özcan,

This problem could occur due to these reasons.

    1. Damaged the Windows Cache store.
    2. Conflict between third-party applications.

Have you installed a third-party security software on your computer?

    • Make sure that you have installed the KB2871389 update. Alternatively, you can install all Windows Update available including optional updates.
    • Disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse and check the issue.

    Follow the method mentioned below:

    Method 1:

If you have installed a third-party security software, I suggest you to disable them temporarily.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

That run Windows update convenience store which will automatically fix some common problems with Windows Update.

    a. press Windows + W on the keyboard.

    b. type Troubleshooting in the "search" tab and press enter.

    c. click show all on the left panel.

    d. click on Windows Update, will new popup window.

    e. follow the instructions on the screen.

    Method 3:
I suggest you to clear the cache to store and check.

    a. press on the key Windows + R.

    b. type wsreset.exe , and then click OK.

    Method 4:
If the problem persists, I you suggest to start the computer in a clean boot and then try to install Windows 8.1 and check if the problem persists. Clean boot process will help you determine which third party/PPP program that causes this problem.

    Download the tool for your system (x 86 is 32-bit, x 64 is 64-bit)
