reclassification of 660 to 970

So I will improve my GPU to a 970 soon all the beautiful and good. I know how to do such things, the problem is that my current 660 uses a power connector 6-pin and the 970 uses two 8-pin or 6-pin + 6 pins (depends on which I get). None of the cables are labeled PCIE or anything, they just p10, p11, p3, p4 and so on. the 6 - pin connected to the 660 is p10 and the marked p11 one looks like it, there is nothing in the manual or on the website. Any ideas on how to identify the appropriate cables? Thank you

PC - HP ENVY h8 - 1520t CTO

PSU - DPS - 600WB A

SuperAdan0007, welcome to the forum.

The P10 and P11 are two PCI Express 6 power connectors pins according to what I read on the power supply 600W.  In addition, the power supply can come with a conversion of 6 to 8 pin cable.

  • P6769 UK: card Geforce GTX 970 of GTX 550ti graphics upgrade

My husband bought a HP PC, because I work for HP.  The Geforce GTX550ti card worked perfectly on the P6769 UK PC running Windows 7; He bought the new card GTX 970 but couldn't make it work with Windows 7, so decided to put the old card back in and install Windows 10 to see if that would solve the problem, which was not. The old card works well running Windows 10 but not the GTX970. Despite extensive research and talk to the 'experts' that he has not yet found a solution - he has a terminal illness, so I would really appreciate help from someone in the forum to help him to enjoy what should be the great graphics for the short time he has left. Please respond to this message and personal email address [personal information deleted] If you can help.

    @Susan_HP

The NVIDIA GTX 970 will not work on your PC. Video in graphics card BIOS and the BIOS is your PC are not compatible.

I suggest that you are looking for an old graphics like the NVIDIA GTX 660. I've used both the TI 550 and 660 and the 660 is a far superior graphics card.

  • Problems: upgrade cars - msi Geforce GTX 970 graphics

I recently bought a Geforce GTX 970 of msi graphics card.

The problem is that my pc will not go through the HP-splash screen that opens before the windows splash screen.

My electricity supplier has enough power enough.

    Help me please!

HP motherboards support even msi graphics cards?

If this is not the case, what companies do support?

    Hello

Your PC was shipped only with a version 7 of HP BIOS so the NVIDIA 970 isn't going to work. There is no provision in a BIOS version 7 to deactivate or activate the secure boot or activate the UEFI.  You would see these selections on the Security tab in the BIOS if there is this selection.

Try one of these models NVIDIA GTX 660.  You only need a power supply of 450 watts.

  • Adding a GIGABYTE 660 OC will void my warranty? Problems of heat?

Hi - I wait tomorrow my new 8700 XPS and wonders if the addition of this card will void the warranty? I don't see it on the list of cards approved, although I saw some 660 s

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 660 OC 2GB

    www.amazon.com/.../B00942TK8I

I was also wondering if there will be problems of heat with long game several hours a day. (e.g. Skyrim/Assassin Creed/Dragon Age Inquisition)?

I'll upgrade later from the PSU and video card, assuming the case is pretty cool - I have a Coolermaster EVO that I doubt will fit.

Any other advice on installation? I don't know if the update of the Bios is required for this card.

    Anyway, thanks in advance.

warranty shouldn't be a problem. Older GPU do not need an update of the BIOS, most recent need of revision of the A10.

Here's a whole thread discussing what you plan.

    http://en.community.Dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/t/19611037

I don't come by that much money on a 660 GTX when more recent, better, faster cards is available for less money, that draw less energy and generate less heat.

A GTX 960 will well on skyrim and OK on Assassin creed.

A GTX 970 will be much better, but the OEM PSU is at the limit

Cooling is not bad at all, just make sure that the case has a lot of airflow around it.

  • RX 480 / GTX 970 non - PC Alienware x 51 R1? :) < 3

    Thanks in advance...

now... Then my R1 Alienware X 51 manage either a GTX 970 (current consumption? / it fits, found a beeing 9.5 inches) or the work of RX 480? ATM I use a GTX 960 4 GB ("draw" power 120W) and before this, I was using a GTX 660 (140W power draw, I even OC it by far: D)... and the GTX 970 would use 145 W max says NViDIA. ... If someone could help me with this? The RX 480 and GTX 970 would cost me the same. The two match. But wise, I'm not sure at 100% power. :)

    Hello

The RX 480 will require less energy. On this model, we have 2 types of power supply (240W and 330W), so the RX 480 will work with the 240W, but with the GTX 970 we recommend 330W adapter.

  • GTX 970 and Premiere Pro

Of course, it says not supported, but I doubt because I'm scared like * BEEEP! * now that I saw this topic I searched

I am owner of a GTX 660 Ti OC 2 GB and it works perfectly with my first Pro CC 2014. However, I was about to buy a GIGABYTE Nvidia GTX 970 until I thought: ' this will work with my Premiere Pro CC 2014?..» Ask for more... Been asked and nobody answered me.

Because I don't want to buy a card that only will NOT WORK AT ALL with my CC 2014!

In other works: if I buy a GTX 970, it will work with Adobe first Pro CC 2014 COMPLETELY/FULL POWER, supported or not?

Please answer as soon as POSSIBLE!

    Thanks in advance

Now the 900 series cards are tested very well with the MPE engine and acceleration of time. I have not seen any limitation, including the effects. So I don't know where people are facing problems. Acceleration of EI is Raytracer and on track. Do not expect in the Nvidia drivers to maintain the AE version has even and I would be surprised if the new maps to work with it since Adobe is emerging. Very little use at this stage and C4D with octane is much better especially for GPU acceleration.

  • My DT Java Plug - in 8.0.660.18 is supposed to be vulnerable, and I don't know how to upgrade. Should I turn it off?

I had problems with Firefox crashing lately, and it may have something to do with one of the plugins. So I checked the plugins that I have, and I noticed that I have Java DT 8.0.660.18 installed, but there is a warning that the plugin can be vulnerable. I have Windows XP, (yes I know, stupid Microsoft can't not help XP), and so to get the latest version of this will be difficult, if not impossible. Should I change the setting in my Firefox "never activate?

I believe that we are at the root of the problem. For some time my Firefox browser was slow, has been suspended for a bit and crashed 5 times in 3 minutes Thursday. Now that I've refreshed Firefox, even with Trend Micro inserted in, my browser runs faster than ever before. Has collapsed yet, no snap and now I know what the problem could be seized becomes a problem. Thank you, FredMcD and the team!

  • Why v.22 and v.23 load beta at 79 970 Mo?

V.22 wasn't a huge 79 970 MB, but it had a major conflict with the shockwave plugin. I went to Chrome and went crazy with white screen freezes and does not have pages. I want to go back to Firefox, but Firefox is just stupid in size. What the hell is happening?

Ah ok, so you're meaning installation size. You need to clarify that.

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion 15: Can I upgrade my GTX 970 graphics card or 980

Hi I want to upgrade my graphics card for my laptop for GTX 970 m I currently have a Radeon graphics card and Intel HD Graphics can I put my graphics?

I have a HP Pavilion 15 touch screen, CPU is Intel Core i5 4200u and Windows 8

My graphics card is AMD Radeon 8670 M 1 GB DDR3 and I want to update if I can improve my graphics card?

Replace that? It is a solid unit welded together. There is nothing to remove and replace it with something else, that's what I'm trying to say. How do you imagine this replacement is going to happen? A standard desktop video card won't slip into a laptop so what kind of thing are thinking you that you can stick in there?

  • No problem of reclassification of Maverick in El Capitan

Must what members experience reclassification of Mavericks at El Capitan? It is worth?

Reclassification of Mavericks in El Capitan, this isn't a problem. Whether or not it is worth depends on what you like and if you need the features provided by El Capitan, which is not provided by the Mavericks.

However, make sure that your applications are compatible. At least 4Gig memory. If you intend to continue using iPhoto, make sure that you update to the latest version 9.6.1.

IF you have another disk, you might install on test and try it first. It is perhaps the best way to go.

Anyway, have a good Time Machine backup in case you want to restore.

  • 'No Signal' - ti GTX 660 does not not with a card mother H-Joshua-H61-Μatx

    Hello

I have a 2302eam HP pg with a 550w PSU ready to run a gtx 660 update ti GPU. However, I get only "no signal" on my monitor.

As far as I know, with the power supply update, the PC should be end run the card.

Is there a compatibility issue with my motherboard? Or is there something I can do to help solve this problem with my BIOS?

I don't see any option in the current (and last v8) BIOS to disable the integrated graphics card and run the new GPU since the pci slot.

    What could cause this problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Punchpidge

    Hello

Have heard, if you have a UEFI Bios, you enter the BIOS, disable the boot safe boot and enable legacy in order to allow the new video card. All things being equal, it does no problem power supply.

Don't know what OS you are using and did not find the model number you have indicated in your message.

Finally, it should be to uninstall the existing video drivers, close, install the new card, then install the new drivers to restart managed in the operating system.

This morning, it wouldn't boot. Unfortunately, I have not prepared recovery disc and do not have the disc of Windows 7 computer was purchased with the system pre-installed.

What can I do to get it working again?

Try please start the laptop with F8 on startup to enter advanced startup options. Start Notepad in safe mode and open the System Restore tool and try to roll back OS day or two back in the hope that this will help.

  • HP Envy 700-470na: 600W PSU and GTX 970 for HP ENVY 700-470NA

    Hello

I am looking to buy the GTX to my HP Envy 700-470NA 970. I also need a 600w PSU to use my current power supply (500w) would be risky.

My question is, I'll be able to replace the power supply on my desktop with the 600w Corsair? Well, just reliable and good quality PSU with 600W which can be compatible with my PC would be great.

Please provide a link to the PSU if possible. Thank you!

You are welcome.  Thank you for the additional information.

Yes, the cables should function properly.  Cards mothers HP have the ATX 24 power connector standard pins.  You could buy a modular power supply.  In this way, that you don't have to use all the cables that are not necessary.  This makes more space for good air circulation.
