  Today I received my D3. During the last few hours setting up. I'm not even close to be completed. I can't believe the build quality on this phone. When you hold you know you have a high-end quality device in your hands. IM happy that my Droid X is dead and forced me to get the D3 lol. I have no problem connecting, no problem with ram, nothing at all. I tested the GPS outside and it works fine. The screen is big, especially outdoors. I don't know why I read people complain it is not not crispy. It seems very crisp for me.

  I just got a new HP Pavilion p7-1534 for my birthday. I want to update my graphics card because I'm a big gamer, but I don't know where to start. What are some cards compatible with this system? It would be nice to be able to get one that will run the new generation games (ex: 4 Battlefield http://bf4central.com/battlefield-4-system-requirements/) heating maximum without having to upgrade my power supply, but if not, that's okay, I'd like to see some cards at both ends of the spectrum (those who will AND will not require an upgrade to the PSU).

  Jay, welcome to the forum and the happy birthday late.  Congratulations on your new computer.

  The power supply unit (PSU) in your computer is 300W.  Most new mid-level video cards require at least 400W to work properly.  Any card that will work with the 300W PSU will be much better than the integrated video.  The games that you want to read will not perform just the way you expect.

  I like the OCZ and Corsair PSU.  They will provide clean and stable power for your system.  I recommend at least 500W; 550W at 600W is even better.  You can buy one of these brands for less than $100.  Both in the links I provided would do a very good job.  If you decide to buy one of them, please read all of the reviews.

  Here's a map that would work very well for what you want it to do.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  Of course, we should upgrade the power supply.

  Get rid of CA security software and do general maintenance on your system would probably go a long way to improve your computing experience.  See help! My computer is slow!

  Unless you plan to buy a new computer with Windows 7 pre-installed, make sure that your hardware is compatible with Windows 7 (for the most part, this means that Windows 7 drivers are available; problems are more likely to occur with older laptops).  Download and run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

• Quality of printing on my HP Photosmart C5580 all in one is not very good

  My parents have a HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one printer.  Their old computer was running XP and the printer printed beautiful photo (using HP Photo paper).  The recently buy a new computer that is running Windows 7.  They called me after that that they got rid of their old computer XP.

  The problem is that the HP C5580 is no longer made a good job of photo printing.   I have been in their house and they owe me that the use of the printer to print then we have printed a new photo to the printer (which was horrible).  I then downloaded the latest drivers for Windows 7 from HP, installed and reprinted the image.

  The XP computer disappeared, so I've no idea what program they used to print photos.  I used Picas (latest version) to view and print the pictures on Windows 7.

  The new photos are very washed out. They remind me of the photos printed on the ink jet printer initially on plain paper.  They are not photographs.

  Anyone have any ideas to improve the quality of the photos?  If it is a better program than Picasa we should use to print the photo?  Is there a way to caliabrate the printer?

  Hi Dennis you have posted on the discussion of the ePrint/Mobile Forum so I'll ask that your post moved to the Printing Board Issues & troubleshooting in the hope that you receive relevant responses. In the meantime, I suggest that you check the ink levels in the supplies in the printer and print a diagnostic. You should be able to get it out in the printing software HP you have downloaded or directly from the front panel of the printer. If ink, levels are low in all of the test color cartridges to see if that solves the look "washed out" prints.

  I am disabled I spend much of my day in my bed, I can't sit in my chair for a period of time more then an hour, but I want to work on my stories that I'd like to use the Microsoft speech recognition and a good free word-processing program notpad and Word are not strong enghou I tried Open office and kingsoft office, but they do not seem to work for dictation, anyone know of any that will work I really don't like using word and then copy on my actual document.

  Make sure that you start WSR (Windows speech recognition) before starting any other program that you want to dictate. If you can not dictate in Open Office Open Office means and does not respect the TSF, text Services executives. If this is the case, you can try turn on the notebook of dictation by clicking on the microphone icon in the address bar by clicking Options. Close Open Office and WSR. Restart the WSR and open Office. If it still does not respond, just dictate into Notepad and run the following commands:

  1. Select all

  2 copy

  3 switch to Open Office

  4 paste

  AFAIK, except if you have a few programming specifialised run SW, Windows Scheduler did a good job.

• How long will it take to make decent-good commercial 2 min video clips of product presentations

  I have been working with 3d modeling and rendering now for a year and can do a good job in CAD software.

  I would like to go one step further and be in a position next year to 2 min announcement of video clips of products I have modeled and rendered.

  I can use photoshop on a beginner level for visualization of the product and is trying to spend more time getting better in PS.

  It's a very loaded question. From concept to production, I had visualization product projects take half a day to six months. It depends entirely on the project. How long it takes to get a good depends on how fast you learn and your artistic talent. I have taught the people who have been film production of poor quality for many years, and they are not much better after a high intensity bootcamp. I taught to others who have been to debut happened how to I cut a video clip to work simply incredible in a weekend. On average, I would say that the average student beginning needs about 40 hours of productive training targeted to get a good handle, the software and the basics of editing and compositing. Once you understand the concepts and how editing, sound, composition, movement and color tell a story it takes lots of practice to get really good at it. I have not seen any really good visuals of artists or publishers who did not follow the 10,000 hours rule. To become really proficient at any task that you need to spend about 10,000 hours to work on your skills. This does not mean 10,000 hours sitting at a computer, which means learning to tell a Visual story effective from 10 000 hours.

• Create and burn everything good?

  I have an older version of Pro and now need a new program to capture, edit, create and burn AVCDZ HD on Blu - ray. (1) can do all of this? (2) can this thing do a good job authring of menus/chapters?  (3) is it intuative or combersome as the old pro version? (4) is there and more easy/better product out there that can do everything?

  With AVCHD material, there is no Capture. A copy on the material of the cards on the HARD disk, and then they import these files in a project, to use in a sequence. This is done by PrPro.

  When Assembly is completed, still serves to make the creation and is a complete creation application.

  There are some programs 'all-in-one' consumer, such as Pinnacle Studio, CyberLink PowerDirector, Magix MovieEdit Pro and Adobe PrElements. The biggest limitation is that their capabilities are very limited, but easy enough to use. If a solution of "big button", I recommend that they like, but at the expense of power and control.

• Documentation of the API for CWIMAQControls

  I am a software developer with several years of experience in medicine and other sciences, but now is working on a software project using National Instruments IMAQ customer in .NET and have no prior experience with image processing.  The only I can find the API documentation is a help file with the product intalled.  Then this under did a good job explaining the service inputs and outputs, it is light on the explanation in a real retail functions actually do.  Under .NET (not my favorite but this is what I got), I can get a good summary of the objects and their properties / methods, which is useful.  I see there are a lot of good material in this forum, but what I need right now is good basic documentation.  I also noted a plethora of PDF files in the directory of installation but found nothing there or on ni.com which gives me the level detail fo I need.  When I think that the documentation of the API, I expect something as complete what Sun Microsystems offers with any JDK Java - it seems that the doc API IMAQ assumes a certain level of ease and does not for someone like me come with literally no background outside a lot of math (algebra of vector fortunately!) and science in College courses.

  Am I missing something?  I see that there are many examples of programs and I can get what want from those, I guess, but I do not charge my client for all the time it will take, if there is a more ready fo source information.

  Now, I realize that the field of the treatment of the image is large and it would be difficult to develop a software of this nature without a learning curve.  So I have

  I studied through two web queries image processing and having bought the book 'Digital Image Processing (Gonzalez, wood).

  Specifically, I was put to zero in on what is needed for the task at hand: "blob detection" and "blob tracking movement."  It seems pretty clear to me, some have become familiar with the image processing basic terminology and methodologies that have been developed for tracking, and image recognition of movement IMAQ software can do what it takes.  At this point, I can do basic things with objects presented in .NET.  It is analogous to maybe ask a kid who just the definition of an equilateral triangle to solve differential equations.

  In this case, what I really need is one or more examples of programs that perform functions similar to what I want to do.  Is there any suggestions in this regard?  My research on ni.com revealed evidence of the items of "blob detection" and "blob motion" and I see that these were used for tasks as complex as the particles of follow-up and the counting of blood components.  I don't see and od you expect not to see any object, follow also specific methods than what I need to do - which is in fact quite abstract - and chart the path of the blob more to light to the camera image gained when it moves in real time.

  It's a strange feeling to have been programming for decades, and then enter a field where the customer needs require me to act as a nini who has not done its homework.  But it's the nature of the job.  The pointers will be appreciated.  If I missed something obvious I don't even mind being reprimanded to be unobservant or lazy.

  Have you looked at the manual of the Vision Concept?  (it should be in the form of PDF in the documentation directory, or you can see it here) It has a more detailed description on what our algorithms.

  We also ship many examples for .NET - those of the 2. Functions\Binary analysis file dealing with blob detection and may be useful.

• Name in view format

  I have a large database of images and names of people.  just upgraded from LR 4 to 6, so have not addressed with before facial recognition in this program.  Lightroom has done a good job to attach names of people, based on the metadata created by Picasa.  But spin in a big problem.  I used the name format:

  [name] [comma] [first name].  When Lightroom went through the pictures for the first time, he put the names in this format in the keyword list without problem.

  BUT... when a face is not identified, and I'm trying to attach the name of keyword that contains the [comma], I get an error message: keywords are not allowed to use commas.  I find, of course, I can change the [comma] [period] and which puts the name very well.  But now, whenever I identify a photo with an existing tag name, I create a duplicate by a [semicolon] rather than [] name.  Do not find a good solution, other than the obstinate by every existing name... and I have about 1 000 of them and changing at a [period].  Second possibility is every time that this happens for the first time with a name, before I have attached to the image, go to the list of keyname, change the name by a [point].  The ideal way would be to change to package all of the keywords [comma] [period].  This can be done?

  Unfortunately, there is no way of getting LR to manage properly, commas in the keywords that you discovered.  It is barely acceptable to the manipulation of the keywords containing spaces.  And there is no way to batch change existing keywords.

  Two options:

  -You could try the Tag Any plugin, which will load the comma in keywords.  But note that even with any Tag, other aspects of the RL have commas wired and could make life difficult for you, for example the search with filters and smart collections.

  -If you haven't done a lot of work still in LR, you could start.  ExifTool can treat all keywords and to face in your Picasa photos, by changing the names ',' to ' - '.  Then import them into LR.  But it would take a certain degree of sophistication in writing scripts suitable for use Exiftool.

  -Manually modify each keyword in turn.  :-

  I create a reminder on my iphone itself, set a day and time so that it goes off...
  recall however only appears and goes off on my office imac and does seem to alert me
  on my current phone where I physically created the recall...  I tried to switch the Snooze button
  under icloud in settings... also tried hitting the sync button in the reminders application itself under settings... doesn't seem

  I understand that you did not find notifications for reminders that you have set up on your iPhone, but they appear on the iMac. I depend on reminders to alert me during the day, so I can understand your concern. I'll be happy to help you with this.

  You did a good job to check these settings. I would like also to you allows you to check the settings > Notifications. Highlight reminders and tap that. Make sure that allow Notifications are on. There you can also toggle the different sections as show in the Notification Center, display on the lock screen, etc.. For more information on Notifications, see the following article:
