Records of satellite E205-S1904 and recovery installation

I have a Toshiba Satellite E205-S1904, which I bought in the United States, but I now live in England. I bought this in 2010 and if the laptop is out of warranty.

I need / want to reinstall programs on the laptop, but seems to have lost the right disk with all windows and drivers software.
I think I can buy these website of toshiba not froma, but very worried about software not geniue, which may casue problems on the line frurther.
I can't find anything in the site toshiba.eu to be helpful as to where I can get my hands on the necessary disks.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thank you very much

If you have the American machine, you should look for all the information on Toshiba U.S. page - http://support.toshiba.com/support/home

It's a fairly old machine and I do not know if you will be able to order the original recovery media.
What you can do is to install own OS version and install all necessary drivers, tools and utilities Hat you can find about US Download page.

Hi ~ I have a SAT E205-S1904 and he died a few months ago. I took it to be fixed and they said it was a software problem and that fixed it.

Before I took it in my switch wireless did work. Now, there is no light, and it does not have the kid who fixed, he says the material was very well and he couldn't understand why it wasn't. I have a WiFi connection in my house, what makes this laptop completely unusable for me. I have windows 7 on it.

    What Miss me?

How should we know what are you missing?
I put t understand how it stopped working suddenly.

Question is: what did you do with your machine?

Also, I think it's software related, but on this virtual path issue, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. Fact is that this function is controlled by software that runs in the background. Maybe you stopped him somehow.

What you can do is to reinstall the OS again and again test the functionality with the factory settings.

  • Satellite L505D-S5965 and recovery disk Creater

I did a clean install of windows 7 when I updated and no longer have the Toshiba recovery disc creator.
I can always start disk recovery tool HARD I did not delete this partition when I upgraded. I would like to be able to create a recovery for my system disk in case something happened to my hard drive.

Where can I download it Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool? Is there another way for me to get a recovery disk?

    Stand by.
I think with your answers you're going in the wrong direction.
Good question, but you asked very Timox offered no exact answer.

Please do not mix two very important but completely different things:
    # New laptops computers are delivered without recovery DVD and the DVD of the facilities must be created by the owner of the laptop. For this application, Toshiba has installed small tool called 'Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator'. This tool can be used for creating discs of facilities only.
    # I don't know not what you understand under HARD drive recovery tool but the fact is that recovery image is recorded on the second partition and can be used for the installation of HARD drive recovery. This can be done if you plant only settings. After the clean operating system installation, you probably won't be able to start the installation of the HARD disk even if the recovery files are always saved on the second partition.

As I see you have American portable model. I don't know exactly how it works there but the principle must be the same as here in Europe.

At startup, you must press F8 or zero to enter advanced startup options. There you should find option repair my computer and next to this option, you enter the with recovery option Toshiba system recovery options.
When you install the clean operating system, this option will be gone. I describe how it works now on the European models, but I think we model it should be similar.

    Once again the important questions:
Have you ever tried to start installation of HARD drive recovery (F8 or 0 at startup)?
Can you he start now after installing Win7? If this isn't the case, you have a problem. I just hope that you created the recovery DVDs when you got your laptop.

I am sorry to say that it resembles a discarded HARD drive.

You can boot from a floppy drive and see the HARD drive at all. If you can, then I suggest trying to format the drive in this way and then tries again.

If this isn't the case, then you should get a new drive.

  • Satellite A300 - HARD and the Installation of the OS disk replacement

    Hello world

I watched a few videos online regarding how can I do to replace the two HARD drive in my laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 PSAG4E-04901CEN. However, I have a few inquires before that I undertake this task:

    (1) are there any recommendation to which HARD drive should I buy for this laptop. I want something affordable with speed and relatively good ability.
    (2) how I would go about installing Windows 7 OS on the new HARD drive. I have to update my BIOS and drivers when I finished installing?
    (3) are there other guides (written or video) that you would recommend that I go through before making the replacement?

I appreciate any help on this matter.

A few days ago a friend of mine asked me to help. HARD on its A300 disc was defective. We bought the new 250GB SATA HDD, succeeded him, and after that, I installed Win7 32 bit.
    Now the machine works perfectly.

Do not do anything as the BIOS update. Just put the new HARD drive and launch the installation of Win7. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, you can find and download from the Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Here's how I installed all the stuff on A300 friends:
    -Win7
    -chipset driver
    -Storage Manager
    -display driver
    -driver sound
    -modem driver
    -utility supervisor
    -infrared
    -patches
    -configfree
    -VAP
    Hardware - toshiba
    Control - HDMI
    -WLAN driver

Everything works well but lacks some drivers

    Added Vista tips:
Toshiba - help - working properly
    -Card reader - installed correctly
-Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works correctly.
    Driver - Synaptics

Win7 works well and I am very satisfied.

If you need help more made me know.

Does anyone have the 1 of 3 recovery cd? I can't find me and I'm in trouble! Please, I beg you. AYUDA!

    Hello

When you have lost one of the CDs, you must contact a Service partner.

There, you have to sign a solemn declaration (by MS license agreement), then you will get a new! I'm not sure but I think you should pay for it. Please visit https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com and SUPPORT & DOWNLOADS. There you can find a partner of Service authorized in your country.

    Hello

I have a Satellite A30 range and I'm about to install a new hard drive but I don't have the original recovery disk. I told myself I can are no longer met this Toshiba directly so I wonder if someone can direct me looking for a replacement of original or copy.

Hmm. I thought you can order the recovery CD Toshiba of the ASP in your country but if the series of laptop it is too old it would not be possible.

However, you can also install the Windows operating system by using the Microsoft CD and then you could install the driver of Toshiba of the Toshiba driver page.

  • Satellite C850 - where can I get and Win7 installation .iso of?

    Hi guys,.

I searched and found a lot of threads, but have not really found a solution.

I bought C850 with Win7-64-home-premium preinstalled for my wife.
First I wanted to decline Microsoft EULA and claim the money for Win7 license, but I thought that his quid of only 50 or 60, and I could the want once a year so I left as what.

First impression - its Terrible slowness!

I have an old NB100, Witch of Linux running of Atom and 2 GB of RAM, I use from time to time when I work on the road and this old tiny netbook is faster then my new C850 with i3 and 8 GB of RAM. I mean A LOOOOOT faster.

Then I run Mint Livecd, and then I saw how fast C850 can be if it is given real operating system instead of Microsofts crapware.

Then I installed WIn7-64-professional and there was a BIG difference. This is nowhere near as fast as on Linux Mint, but it's much better then original install.

It was only to check how it happens on a clean install. I don't have a license for Win7-pro for C850 and I don't even have any intention of paying for something as useless as Win7. People should be paid for all the suffering caused by Win7.

On the other hand, I would pay gladly for Linux Mint and in fact I've done a beautiful gift to the project not long :)

Conclusion - the slowdown was casued by Toshiba bloatware (which is not at all necessary for the functioning of the laptop!) and all the other stuff like McAfee or Nero.

I tried to reinstall but him reinstalled Win7 comes with all the bloatware and I need clean install Win7.

To cut short answers like "install and remove unnecessary waths" - which does not solve the problem for two reasons:
    (1) to install and remove, many things remain on the system, registry entries, lots of files, etc
    (2) I need and .iso of Win7, so I can integrate by little things and get rid of ALL LOT of useless things

Where can I purchase and installation .iso of?
I mean clean Win7 without all this bloatware Toshiba, McAfee, Nero and other detritus.
Mind you, I bought a laptop with Win7 license so I have the LEGAL RIGHT to use Win7 on its own.

    Popular suspicion.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    > Where can I get and .iso installation of?

As much as I know Toshiba does not any clean Windows 7 disk.
You can create a recovery disk using the media recovery disk creator.
You will get the image of Toshiba with Windows 7, drivers, tools and utilities.

If you want to install clean Win 7, or you have to buy it from Microsoft or try to download the iso from MS page but I have no idea if the serial at the bottom of the device key would work because this key belongs to the OEM version installed on your laptop.

  • Update portable drive to SSD, problems with the installation of operating system and recovery system

Compaq Presario CQ71, (model CQ71-317EA) portable system, Windows 7 family 64 - bit edition

Hi, I tried to upgrade the original 320 GB HDD to a 256 GB SSD.

After that replacement of the naked NTFS hard drive to SSD format, I tried to do a "factory restore" using the DVD, I created some time ago about recovery. The DVD started and recovery program ran very well, first menus for recovery/system control etc. The problem is that the program would not be allowed a resumption of the plant as the HDD was little different/more than the installed hard drive to factory.

This is the point I'm stuck at, I reassembled the original hard drive while I find a solution.

Is it possible to find a workaround to avoid having to order a new disc of Windows 7? Any help and advice in terms of simple-ish would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Bagpuss

    Hello:

If you can still read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 on the bottom of your laptop, you can make your own plain W7 x 64 Home Premium installation media and use the product key to activate the installation.

Download the applicable version of the W7 from the link below.  Use the SP1 media files regenerate.

    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/14709-Windows-7-Digital-River-direct-links-multiple-languages-x86-amp-x64/page59?p=470600&viewfull=1#post470600

Then use this tool to transfer the ISO file downloaded on a key USB 4 GB or DVD.  The tool will make the DVD or drive bootable flash as well.

  • OK, I have a legal copy of vista Home premium with service packs and updates from microsoft and want to start clean with a clean installation I do not have the original, only recovery and put installation disc at level Express disc?

OK, I know that this may be simple for most, but I have an of a moment _ this find.  As I said legal copy that has been saved... I backed up all my files on DVD, I don't care if I lose all the programs that I can always download them later.  Basically I want is that it was when I brought home the first time.  I searched high and low for the original disc of Vista but no luck.  I do not have people upgrade at any time, but I was not able to find a definitive answer about it online.  Not too complicate it again but I have 4 GB of ram and processor can run 64-bit, and I have 32-bit curently I'm sure you know where I'm going with that.  I know a little about how to do it, but want reasurance and direction from someone who knows hit safe and ready to help.  Any person who get end to this nightmare for me will be really appreciated.

    Shaun

Contact the manufacturer to obtain a set of recovery discs original (for a fee) and use them to make the initial installation.  Activate it.  Then you can do the upgrade and activate that.  You must install the original operating system in order to install the upgrade.  If you are going from 32 bits to 64 bits that cannot be done with an upgrade - which requires complete and clean installation.

Here is the Microsoft policy on replacement software; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
