Recover tabs after Firefox reload

Hello! My first post here and I found a good solution for my case.

Here is what happened:

After force Firefox to quit smoking and then put it on again all tabs open in a previous session has become inactive and loading new/blank Tabs without any address in their.

I used to reload Firefox previously and she was very good with showing all my tabs of the session before recharging. But now they are all simply empty.

Is there a way to make these blank tabs to work like before? I can somehow restore them?
Please help, I have so many important information in these tabs. Thank you!

Do not leave Firefox! If you already quit Firefox, does not start it again! Please save your session history files in a safe place for potential recovery/recovery operations.

If Firefox works now:

You can open the settings file (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

  • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
  • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
  • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the button 'show in Finder '.

If Firefox is NOT running now:

Our support article says:

(1) click the Finder icon in the dock. On the menu bar, click the menu go to, hold down option or alt key and select library. A window opens that contains your library folder.

(2) open the "Application Support" folder, and then open the folder "Firefox", then the folder "Profiles".

There you will see a folder named semi-randomly - there is only one click in it - or more than one. If there is more than one folder, find the one with the updated content.

Next steps if Firefox running or not:

In the Finder window, scroll down and double-click on folder sessionstore-backups . Save all the files here to a safe place, such as your Documents folder (if Mac has a default Documents folder). If not too much time has passed, we may be able to use to recover your lost tabs.

The types of files that you can find among your sessionstore-backup files are:

  • Recovery.js: the windows and tabs in your Firefox session currently live (or, if Firefox is closed, your last session)
  • Recovery.bak: a backup copy of recovery.js
  • Previous.js: the windows and tabs in your last session in Firefox
  • Upgrade.js -build_id: windows and tabs in Firefox that was alive at the time of your last update session

Can take you a look at what you have and the date / time of the different files to see if you think that one of them would be the missing tabs?

I can't be certain, but I don't think that the system has been changed yet, but in Firefox 33, it was reorganized, with more files and a whole new 'sessionstore-backups' folder/directory (hidden), with new file names.

I have not tried to manually restore nothing since then and that itself is probably an indication that the new system is more robust and more reliable.

I can't move tabs after update 21.0 even after reset of Firefox. The previous modules before reset were:

  • How can I recover my old firefox after I replaced it, it told me a new will not work?

I was on my AOL Homepage and was encouraged to be upgraded for increased security. Everything went well, but when I tried to open Firefox, I learned it wouldn't work. Usually, with this older system, I am notified when an upgrade will not work. I would have never taken the lead and replaced my old if I knew. Is it possible to recover my old Firefox?

There are apps that I have on this old system that does not work on newer systems. (I have an Airbook updated but I like the big screen for some things). I found this on Google:

and downloaded Firefox 16 of their link. It seems to work. For security reasons, I use my Airbook for bill payment, etc.
Thanks for your comments. Thank you very much for the quick responses.

  • Save my tabs when Firefox is closed so that they are always there when I restart Firefox

You have to use restore on my computer recently and once I did, Firefox seems to have lost the ability to save the tabs that I had opened since the last time that I used it, do not remember how it was configured to save tabs after each session. Also restore previous session was grayed out on then the previous session was not guarded, was able to recover some of the tabs looking through my story, right now I can't just close Firefox and open it to my previous tabs, it starts a new session. Will be closed in the future Firefox until a solution is found from my task manager, because it usually allows me to restore the previous Firefox tabs because it acts as an accident.

Normally, Firefox saves your open windows and tabs that you will when your browser crashes, so it can restore your session automatically. To get Firefox to do this each time that you start, you can set that in the Options page. See: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

If Firefox does not always restore your session, check the Options page Privacy panel to ensure that:

    (1) you authorize Firefox saves history
    (2) you may not erase history at the stop

  • How to keep tabs of "constantly" "reloading" themselves?

From the update of Firefox 4 tabs appear to keep repeatedly "reloading" themselves a little, quickly bogged down my computer when multiple tabs are open. How can I turn off the tabs of "constantly" (or often) 'reload' themselves? I prefer by far using the refresh option when I want them charged or put up-to-date.

    Historical problem and effects:
Before Firefox 4, I have several tabs (like 30 or 50) open without a problem. With Firefox 4 (and Firefox 5, until now, what seems like, a slightly lesser degree), my computer starts to slow down considerably for each tab after about 5 (or when Firefox and "plugin - container.exe" max out my CPU usage) and takes more than 10 or 40 seconds to load a page after 10 or 15 tabs, instead of only 1 second. When I have a large number of open tabs now, at some point, most of them said 'connection '.... "in the title of the tab (the same as they say, for at least a moment, when the page/tab opening).

    Clarification of "reloading":
I continue to referring to the tabs as reload repeatedly, but I don't really know what they are doing. they just seem like that is what makes them, since they frequently change their title of the page (or the name of the tab) 'connection... '. "and they seem to put a load on my computer that, as far as I can tell, it of like the page loads again, or has been refreshed. I have not really noticed any change in the pages when they do this thing that looks like a sort of reload for me, so it obviously and, fortunately, is not doing the same thing by pressing F5 don't. The random things as of advertisements, or friends featured on the Facebook page of someone, would change when you press F5, but they do not have this problem that I describe.

In general, I am very happy with Firefox, but this feature has been annoying me greatly. I looked for ways to turn it off, but didn't find any. It could be useful that I know what it's called, and exactly what it does.

  • tab in firefox, open now

I get 'Tab in Firefox, open now,' when a link is clicked. It's something new after an update. I hate adding an extra step to open a link. It is very annoying. How to stop? I am under Android 5.0 on Samsung S5.

  • I have a fake vertical gray bar (about 4cm wide) between the trees tabs and firefox page style. How can I get rid of him?

I created a new computer yesterday that runs windows 8.

I downloaded Firefox, then added tree style tabs and colourful tabs after which I powered off for the night. Today on rebooting and opening up Firefox I find that I have a vertical grey bar between my tabs (and same width as them) and the Firefox page. There is no right click options within that large grey area - and of course it's pushing my pages off the right hand side of the screen. How do I get rid of this blasted thing??????
    Pete

I had this problem, but it was because I had two tree Style tabs and Vertical both installed. Once I removed the vertical tabs, the gray bar went away.

  • How to print a web page in PDF format in Windows 7 after Firefox version 8?

Some web pages do not print to PDF after Firefox Version 8. The result is incomplete PDF or progress printing stops at a certain point and Firefox is stuck. For example, the following web page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Lincoln prints to PDF with Firefox Version 8, but it does not print with any version newer than 8 Firefox. Note that the latest version of Acrobat Professional produced the same results, but also the other PDF generating tools such as 'FreePDF XP' and 'Bullzip. Also, the same web page on this same machine prints of in Internet Explorer. However using Internet explore is not a solution for our needs.

Could you also try to disable graphics hardware acceleration? I don't know if this affects printing at all, but just in case.

You need to restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

If you restart Firefox, you will notice no difference?

A standard Diagnostics in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Mode without failure of Firefox.

First of all, I recommend you backup your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox. (You can copy your profile folder Firefox together somewhere outside the Mozilla folder).

Then restart Firefox in Mode safe (questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode) of Firefox help

Help > restart with disabled modules

In the dialog box, click "start mode safe."

If you can print PDF files normally, it points to one of your extensions or custom as the problem settings.

To also disable plugins, you can try here:

Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > Plugins category

  • 'open a new tab' button on the toolbar will not insert a new tab after current

I want to open a new tab button at the right end of the tab bar to open a new tab, after the currently open tab Similarly the browser does when the browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent profile option is set to true.

The current behavior is VERY annoying that I still have many tabs open and then scroll all the way to the right of the tab bar and drag the new tab to where I want, which is always on the active tab.

Not sure if this has been already supported but if not, I used to run Tabberwoky which is no longer works and I became very fond of the function and I do 8 Firefox to do this.

Please tell me how, that I cannot or should do otherwise.

    Thank you.

That's exactly what I searched for, and now it is about to be wiped out. My question is this: If we want to keep this feature, is there a way for us to do?
