  • BlackBerry Z10 unable to update / Cancel Update

    Hello..

Just, I got my z10 2 days ago and has been invited for the updates to Version 10.0.10.82. I tried twice and failed both during step 2 (installation). He would then give me a message "downloading the software has been interrupted. Please try again. »

The first time I was able to click on the "Cancel Update" and try the update again. However, for the second time that the error message has shown once again, as noted above, I wasn't able to click on "Cancel Update". The button "Cancel Update" does not at all.

  • How to cancel "Update DNG Preview & Metadata"

How can you cancel the Photo menu option "Update DNG Preview & metadata" in the develop module?

I accidentally hit this at which point Lightroom has added a ' metadata' entry in the history for the file.  It also seems to update the preview of the file (as seen with before / after).

I tried to undo the change, but all Lightroom wasn't remove history items ("metadata" remained at the top, all cursors edit remained the same (even if history was deleted) and the 'before' picture was permenantly has changed.)

Not even to reset the image of the library-> photos-> develop settings-> Reset, then 'Update DNG Preview & Metadata"worked.

Is the only way of this operation to remove the DNG format and reimport?  It is not as if Lightroom will warn you that the operation cannot Ωtre annulΘe as with the command "Read metadata from a file.

    I use Lightroom 3.6 on Windows 7 SP 1.

The point of 'before' view does not show the preview (internal preview LR or the preview in a DNG image). It shows a previous version of the default image that is the State of the parameters of development directly after import.

Maybe you accidentally changed before using the different controls of 'copy/swap parameters of/before/after? You can use the history list and specify any stage of history as the "before" version using the context menu to correct this.

EDT: I think you've discovered a bug here: the conversion of a raw as DNG and save the DNG preview & metadata changes the version of the 'before' to the current version. I will report on the forum feedback. It's here: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lr_4_1_convert_to_dng_and_update_dng _preview_metadata_changes_the_before_version

  • How to recover a updated version previous to a Wordpad file that I replaced with an old

Hi, I wrote a document in WordPad and I recorded it when I'm done. After closing the file, I accidentally replaced the updated with the old file which I kept in another folder. So now I can see the two files in two different places, with the old date. The news is gone. So I was wondering if there is a way to return to the previous version of it, the most recently updated, before replacing the file. Unfortunately, the file history option is off, then the available possibilities are limited. Is it possible to find the file in the system?

    Hello

As you mentioned that you replaced the file maintained by the old file and no, you have two old files. It is not possible to get the update file now.

    Hi wine,

If you can get a full version of disc Vista, you can read the following article and try to perform a repair starter or the system restore.

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

If you still experience the problem, try a Checkdsk to repair problems related to bad sectors, lost clusters, reticulate files and directory errors.

    a. Insert the installation disc.

    b. restart your computer.

    c. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the lock buttonand then click restart. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click on command prompt.

    f. at a command prompt, type the following command and press on ENTER.

    chkdsk /f /r X: ( drive letter)

    g. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    h. restart the computer.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

  • Cancelled but nevertheless installed updates

For my business, I have patch various Windows operating system.

On a Windows Server R2 2012 server, many of the patches installed appear as "Cancelled" in the history of the update.

But if I look in the installed updates, the cancelled patches exist and I would be able to uninstall them.

My Question now is: what is the truth? Are the updates that appears "Canceled" installed or not?

Why they are listed in the installed updates if they appear as being cancelled?

Cancelled updates error code is 8024000.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit SP2.

Is there a way to delete the records of 'detail' of only updates of failure or cancelled in the history of Windows Update?

I just installed hotfix for Windows (KB947821).

It looks like a lot of my earlier 'failed' and 'Cancelled' updates are automatically updated and installed, and successfully, I might add.

Some dates in some records do not seem much sense. I guess I'm looking for a way to select the records, I want to get rid of.

    Help?

    Hi Jeffrey,.

It's not really a taken way in charge to remove only the cancelled or failed updates. These are taken from windows logs and displayed in the history. Steps that Jose post is a way to remove all files in history and will remove all updates as well as a failed/cancelled updates successfully.

  • Windows Update crashes to install malicious software update 20 of 23

I was working on a computer, Windows XP Home Edition for a friend who was infected malware and had not been turned on since December.  I removed 135 malware and then decided to do the Windows updates.  Initially, he could get an IP address even when I put a static... I did some research and followed the instructions to recover from deformation of Winsock2.   Then I got on the Internet to make the updates of Windows.

It hung for more than 3 hours on software update 20 malicious 23... I didn't write any extra info - sorry.  I said to cancel updates and went back to bed. 4 hours later he said always Cancel updated so I hard booted the computer.  I couldn't bring up the Task Manager, nothing would happen.

Now when you click on a user, it hangs on loading personal settings or it go to the desktop, but you cannot open Internet Explorer or run programs.  You can click on start running, but if you type a command (cmd, regedit, msconfig) and click OK nothing happens.  If you try to restart in Mode safe mode using F8, and then select Safe Mode it will get as many load windowss\system32\drivers\agp440.sys, then he tells you the computer wasn't shutdown correctly and ask you to select the Mode.  I tried the Safe Mode, Safe Mode with network, Safe Mode command prompt, and I still can't mode without failure.   I also tried the last good known Configuration and that doesn't work anymore.

Finally I put a Windows XP Home CD into the CD player and I got it to boot from the CD Rom it says its inspection system for quite a long time and then it asks you to insert the Windows XP Home Service Pack 1 disc (that's all I had) CD and press.  I hit enter and I'm in a loop.

I can also do a start, stop, or restart, it just sits there.  I have to restart from the CPU.

Any ideas where I'm going from here?

  • Not updated by Labview VI Step property

    Hello

I am currently using 4 TS and LV 8.2 with Win7 Pro.

I created a custom step which employs a lower Edit level.

The lower Edit level name successfully a Labview vi, which allows the user to change the values.

The intention is to copy the user values in the properties of the custom calling step, using the value property Value.vi of the library of Teststand.

After that step is changed, the vi is closed and I check the step variables expected variables to be updated, but what I see in the Variables Panel does not always show the new property values of step.

Called by the lower Edit level Labview vi receives the context of the sequence and the correct step property string name.

Have I correctly picked the Value.vi property set to the task of updating the step of step of the custom properties?

In addition, when the properties of the stage show the new value, the sequence containing the custom step does not indicate

the need to save that is in front of my expectations, else how is remined user to save the changes?

    Thank you

    Gary.

    Gary,

I recommend most often to developers to interface with the EditSubstep modules using parameters.

For an input parameter, I pass the current values of the step variables.

For the output parameter, I connect the same variables that they get old/new values to the EditSubstep module.

I declare this as my EditSubstep modules normally contain a button "Cancel". If the user presses that, I simply passes the output values that the module received as input values.

Input values are also used to update correctly orders from the EditSubstep module. Otherwise, the user would see only the default values, but not the values of that step has already been changed.

Output parameters are important have not changed (cancel) / update the values of the step. By selecting the appropriate container, the values are transmitted with the closure of the EditSubstep, so there is no risk of running into a race condition, which could explain the behavior you're seeing.

    hope this helps,

    Norbert

Original title: Windows Update will not install on the new load XP

    Hi all

Thanks for your replies.  Sorry I didn't answer sooner, but he got late last night, and I got to reregister the Qmgr.dll and Qmgrprxy.dll BITS files.

I clicked Start, click on run and typed the command following, and then click OK:

Start, run and in the run box, Type regsvr32 qmgr.dll, click OK.
Start, run and in the run box, Type regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll, click OK.

I was then able to start the updates.  There are 124 updates, the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86.  He downloaded 124 updates, but even once asked me to insert the disc for qmgr.dll when he was installing the 10th update.  I find the qmgr.dll file again and pressed OK, but it seems to hang forever and do nothing, then I simply cancelled updates and closed during the night.  I have been relieved to have solved the problem of BITS, but is concerned by the hang up on the tenth update installation and he called again for the qmgr.dll file during the installation of updates.

This morning, when I rebooted, it installed some updates at startup, and I restarted again.  He then held I first install the .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for versions of .NET 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847) x 86 to date.  N BITS issue for that.  It took time, but completed settle.  Restart again and now there are only 21 updates to high priority required.  My guess is that he downloaded all 124 updates last night, but when I cancelled the installation after hanging on #10, he just started to install it again this morning and did so successfully.

However, when I try to install the 21 remaining, he has not once again, and I find that the BITS service is not in the services again.  After I have re-enter the BITS service and restart it, the downloads are working again.

I am now what I may need to reinsert and restart the BITS service whenever I need to download an update.

Ideas, suggestions or comments?  I am slowly solve problems and if I persist, I can get this all taken care.

    Hi Dan,.

From what you wrote, I understand where you are getting confused. Here are the steps to follow to solve this problem.

Open the Windows search tool, copy / paste the following text, and then click Search: qmgr.dll

Research should show this file in the following locations:

    C:\Windows\System32
    C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\bits

I hope they are all present, follow these steps to register the service.

Click on start, run and copy/paste: regsvr32 qmgr.dll and click OK
(If you do not have the command run in the start menu, hit the Windows key + R, instead)

Do the same with this file: regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll and then restart.

    Here are the next steps.

Copy / paste this command in the field to run, and then click OK
    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi, InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\qmgr.inf

Windows will launch a dialog box asking you to insert the Windows installation CD. Ignore this and change the way downstairs to C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386

The reason to change the path to the i386 folder is that the files that are there are newer than those on the Windows installation CD.

Then restart the PC again and continue with the rest of the troubleshooting steps.

Click on start, run and copy/paste the following and click OK: services.msc

You should now be able to see the Background Intelligent Transfer Service, or just "BITS" displayed in the list of Services.

Double click it to open BITS and then click on the Start button. This is just a test to make sure that it works correctly.

If you get 2 error: cannot find the specified file, click on start, then run again and copy / paste the following command, and then click OK:
    Tracking Add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BITS\Parameters /v ServiceDll /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d %windir%\System32\qmgr.dll

Restart then try and start the BITS.

If you get the same error again, copy / paste the following text in the field run and click OK:
    Reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\BackupRestore\FilesNotToBackup

Reboot once more and then try and start the BITS.

Let me know how you please.

  • Updates to Windows KB2844285 and KB2833940 keep appearing

The above updates keep appearing and update windows history say, they have been installed successfully many times.

Is this a Microsoft Update site problem or a problem with my pc? Windows xp.

Tried a few repair Microsoft update tool and it didn't work.

The yellow shield icon update is constantly in the status bar.

Hi Andrew. It is a common problem with updates of .NET. Here are the steps I follow

    First try this...

Download and run the Microsoft .NET Framework repair tool , then visit Windows Update and let it try to reinstall updates. Once it's done, scan again with Windows Update to ensure that they properly installed.

If this does not fix it try this...
Try to install the updates manually. Follow the links to the downloads.
    KB2833940 - NDP20SP2-KB2833940 - x 86-.exe
    KB2844285 - NDP20SP2-KB2844285-v2 - x 86-.exe
Once you have installed, visit Windows Update, let it scan and see if they are still revived.

If this is not yet it solves, we need to check if you don't have .NET 2.0 or have .NET 2.0 under .NET 3.5. .NET 3.5 installs 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5.

You can check for their presence in Add or remove programs or download .NET detector, a very small, stand-alone program that displays the versions installed in bold.

If you don't have .NET 2.0 can do this...

    Uninstall the .NET Framework 2.0.
    Reinstall .NET Framework 2.0
Visit Windows Update and let it install the rest of the 2.0 updates, including KB2833940 and KB2844285.

See if that makes the problem disappears.

If you have .NET 2.0 as part of a .NET 3.5 installation do that...

Open Add or remove programs, click on .NET 3.5 and choose repair. I didn't get around to check this fix actually .NET 2.0 also, but it's worth it. I do not know if it can also cancel updates already installed .NET. If so, they will reinstall when you perform a Windows update that is the next step after the repair.

If the repair does not fix it, will add and remove programs and uninstall the .NET Framework 3.5, 2.0, then 3.0.
Visit Windows Update, choose this first installation and custom scan...

    High priority.
    .

If it is not under a high priority, see software, optional.

It must be installed by itself. Windows Update will not let you do otherwise.

When he did install (I forgot if she asks for a restart or what not), scan again and all updates for .NET 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 of the .NET .NET must appear. Choose to install.
A new analysis to ensure that they properly installed.

If all goes well, that will solve the problems you face.

Make sure you come back and let us know which method worked for you or if you still have problems, I have to run a cleaning tool.

    Good luck!

I tried to force them to download a update (via task ==>-online TV-Online Guide => get latest Guide that lists the parameters.) It recognizes the request with a dialog box "Guide lists. Downloadng... you know... ' After a minute or so, he responds with "the Guide download error. the guide could not be downloaded. "For more information, right-click on the WMC system tray icon and open the log of update of WMC.
When I try to follow his instructions, the only choices displayed by right-clicking on the icon in the tray of WMC are open WMC, refresh the data now, cancel update, turn on automatic updates. There is no option to view the log of update. Can someone tell me how to see the journal, or where it is stored on the disk?
I also tried a few searches and the suggested solutions, but nothing seems to help.
    Any ideas out there?
    Thanks in advance!
    -Chris.
