Recovery CD does not work

Hello. I have a laptop of Pavilion dv6700 (service tag dv6838nr). He is running to Win 64-bit Viste. I am prepairing sell ot the computer by "wiping" the hard drive (replace all personal/confidential information on the disk), and by using the recovery CD to bring it to a factory State. But. When I try to run the recovery cd, I restart the computer and cd files losd then I get this message: "Ce PC is not supportedby the system recovery discs ',"You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these discs". I read many forums and messages, so many messages no HP, HP and am puzzled thourgly. This computer is the same when it came from the factory, nothing has been up to class, (with the exception of Ram), (I had the store {Circuit City} up grade 2 to 4 GB Ram, but I'm not sure that I did because the modules of memory have lables on them with the HP numbers to 100% I don't think Circuit City had HP Ram factory install). The BIOS is updated. I ordered HP factory recovery disks, but I'm afraid that they won't work either. I read a few posts that calls the tatoo of the system, but since the M.B. and T.O.D. never changed this shoulden can't be a problem, should it? I also read a post on the restoration of the BIOS, is it possible and if so someone can tell me how, I would give it a try?  I tried to load a retail version of Windows Vista, but it does not recognize my hard drive. Can anyone "Help me", or am I out of luck just like all the other posts I've read on recovery discs that don't work and have a computer that I can't do anything with.

Something weird that I just noticed. I tried to let the HP Web site auto detect my computer and find the updates from that. But. When he came back he told me that I have a dv6000, not a dv6700 when printing on my lable. So I restarted the system and press F1 to enter in the information system, and he also says that the computer is a dv6000. Is this a mistake, or is a dv6700 a subclass of dv6000. Or my system has bad 1 day plant material. And if so, how can I make the work of the Conference on disarmament.

I am at my wits end with this machine, and any help or sugestones someone could give me would be appreciated GREAAAAAAATLY. And I thank you in advance.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I had already tried this, but I've found a workaround. I preformed the recovery again and then used gparted partitioning tool to extend the partition of the c:\ drive to use the entire disk space, and it seems to work so far. Thanks again for your message.

I want to restore my Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop to its original factory condition, but the DVD that comes with the package of recovery does not work...

I have load to start computer press F12, and it starts on the DVD. It says "Loading RAMDISK Image", after which I am told by Toshiba customer service there should be options to clean up the hard drive or restore Windows XP.

However, after VIRTUAL disk, I see a cursor on a black screen, and then the laptop off and restarts. After the connection, NO CHANGES made...

What is the problem with that? How can I really use this recovery DVD?
    Someone help me please.

    Thank you.

    Hello

The recovery procedure is not difficult.
Just try to boot from the recovery CD or DVD and follow the Guide on the screen line.

Your problem is very strange. You have created all the partitions on the HARD drive?
I put really t know why your recovery CD doesn't work properly, but I think you should try to completely format the disk (also partitions), then try to boot from the recovery CD.

Don't forget that the laptop is in the boot mode. (don t mix the standby or hibernation mode)

  • Win 7 64 bit HP recovery CD does not work

    Hi all

I ordered the HP Windows 7 64 bit recovery CD and it doesn't work.

When it separates partitions, and it displays its progress as usual for example

    1/7 full
    2/7 full
    3/7 full (files copied etc..)

but around 3/7 or 4/7, the sound of the CD in road changes and it seems that it restarts continually.

I am confident that the problem is related to this CD because the other disks work properly and the 32-bit recovery CD, I had with laptop computer reinstalled Windows very well.

I wonder what could happen? I have contacted the company on this topic and am waiting to hear. I see no damage to the evidence on the record, and I take great care in general. All I know is it does not work. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello

Have you tested if the laptop would start using another bootable Linux Live CD, WinPE or Win XP disc?
Please check that would help determine if the problem is related to the computer laptop or recovery disk.

Please also check if the HARD drive is ok. For this test, you can use a test called Drive Fitness Test free HARD drive tool. Google for it.

However, it could also be a defective recovery disc and in this case, you should get in touch with the guys where you ordered this drive may be you need a replacement.

Now I am not able to retrieve a windows session would I need a new product recovery cd and would be able to get it?

    Thank you

    Hi dimation,

It is difficult to say what is the reason of this but made is either it s a laptop problem itself or the recovery disc (e.g. scratches) causes this problem.

In my opinion the best way to check this using a Microsoft Windows disk. If the installation completed successfully, you need a new recovery disk. As a result, you can ask a service provider authorized in your country! :)

  • Problem of Pavilion dv67023tx, drive damaged, recovery system recovery cd does not work

Hi all! I really need help

I bought my computer hp laptop Pavilion dv67023tx July 2012.  When I bought it, they gave me a set of recovery disks. January 2013, I did a system restore. It was fine then.

Later, after some software hp update my cd player began to eject automatically. The light of the hp on the lid logo disappeared also. My audio jack went wrong from the beginning. So for all these problems together, I took it to the service center, and as it was in warranty period, they sent to hp. 3 months later I have my laptop back, I was informed that hp has changed the hard drive, motherboard, cover, screen.

There is a month Itried to install some of my software I used earlier, but they were not working. If I had no other way than a system recovery using this link

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01867418

Then the main problem occurred. I couldn't do a system recovery from disk on my laptop. Then when I tried to do the recovery disks and he says, the system recovery disks do not support this computer. You are not able to restore this system with these discs.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01868346

This link said, maybe its because hp has changed the motherboard.

Now what should I do? I need a factory. But recovery in my laptop drive does not work, my recovery disks do not work. Please help me out of this. Or give me email ID so I can contact HP directly with problems, I do not find anything.

Others suggesting me to install a pirated Windows 7, I don't want it. I had a real windows 7 pre installed, why should I?

I'm sorry but I can't help you with recovery disks not working is not on your computer, but I don't have an alternative. If you can still read the 25 characters on the COA affixed Microsoft Windows product key at the bottom of the computer, you can install Windows 7 Home Premium using this key. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 by using the 25 digit product key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Qosmio F10: Recovery DVD does not work?

Hello. I have a qosmio series lappy F10 series well well I still get random stops, crashes and error log every time that I start.
It's been very disturbing to me. I tried to use the system recovery cd, that I got with my laptop and when I followed the procedure in the user manual it starts the recovery then flashes that my system does not support recovery.

Is this normal especially when I had my restore disk with my laptop. I want to reformat my drive hard back to the factory settings and it was completely wiped out with having to buy a new hard drive and windows xp.

What I do and how can you help me in this? I'm at the end of my teather as one of my tasks is a dj from the internet and I can't keep crashing in the middle of my streaming. I don't want to lose my job!

    Help, please!

    Hello

Very strange! The fact is that you cannot use the different recovery CD because each recovery CD is designed for a Toshiba laptop model. For example, you can not use a Qosmio F10 on a Qosmio G20 recovery CD.

However, I assume that you use the recovery CD provided (as you say) and the recovery procedure should generally work without any warnings or error messages.
I think there is something wrong with the CD. Maybe the wrong CD was shipped with this laptop?
I recommend to ask the Toshiba ASP in your country. Here, you can also order the new CD.

    Good bye

  • Satellite C650 - error reading disk and the recovery disk does not work

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite C650, who has recently developed with a disc read error. I want to access the command prompt to try some possible solutions I've read on the internet.

I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other acer laptop which has also installed Windows 7 64-bit. When I use the recovery disk and it loaded the files etc it evokes just a black screen and the cursor.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?
I tried to start my computer acer laptop from the recovery disk and it worked fine.

As is - this does anyone have suggestions as to why I get the message "disk read error - press ctrl, alt and delete to restart?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis, but of course, there must be a problem with the HARD drive. Can you get a second one for test purposes and exchange it. Just to be sure if the HDD is troublemaker.

    But there is something else:
    > I made a Windows 7 recovery disk using my other computer acer laptop...
Sorry, but I don t understand this. Can you please explain what you did exactly?

I found the answer on the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

The article is also for Vista.

    Would do the same thing.

I took the article to use regedit to swap my C & D return records.

Now windows Vista starts OK. (All I had before was just an empty office).

I also received my HP Factory disaster recovery disks it looks they will work if I need.
