Recovery damaged DVD?

Hello
I tried to run the Recovery DVD for my Satellite Pro 6100 re - install Win XP. Everything works until the remove the DVD and reboot the system message: all I get is a blue screen, where it says that Windows is blocking down and that I should check the virus or if the hard disk is damaged. The same thing to restart in any mode. It is also possible to re - install Win2k from the DVD, and it works, then I'm afraid that the XP of the DVD part is damaged. Because I do not want to install 2 k, did someone knows what to do with the DVD to get XP working again, or do I have to get a new one?

Carolin

Hello

I think you are right, and the DVD is damaged. You can get a new one from an authorized service partner.

Good bye

  • The Satellite A100 created recovery, but DVD does not start

I'm trying to reload a Satellite A100 with the DVD that was created when I started the laptop when he bought the news of recovery 11 months ago.

I changed the boot order so that the DVD is first and when you restart, the drive runs at high speed, so it works

No option is presented to be able to boot from this drive (as the usual "press a key to reboot from DVD")

If I press F8 when booting I get a list of the options-led FIX YOUR COMPUTER that is highlighted.
I then press ENTER and get a message "Windows is loading files".
The system recovery options are then displayed, keyboard, layout, then the opening of the session, what I do using an administrator account.
I am then presented with a screen with 6 system recovery options
    -Startup Repair
-System restore - restore to an earlier point in time
-Restoration of Windows complete PC (from backup)
    -Windows memory diagnostic
    -Command Promt
-Restoriing the full Windows operating system

    There are 2 buttons {color: #000000} * low _S_hut * {color} and * _R_estart *.

When I select the last option all I get is another screen with the message
The complete oprtating of Windows System Restore *.

If the pre-installed files are damaged you can use the product Recvoery DVD - Rom to restore (which is what I'm trying to do)
A caveat against the loss of data is also included and then the OK button which, when clicked on resturns me to the previous screen without action
If I select shutdown or restart it's there for that and boots from the hard drive.
The disc is not damaged, I can copy him on system, then one more

Can someone tell me how to start and recover from this drive?

    Hello

Sorry, but you have misunderstood something. I'll try to be clear now:

-Via recovery CD/DVD, you CAN NOT repair already preinstalled the operating system. Using Recovery CD/DVDs, you can make clean OS install only. Please note that, prior to installation, the procedure begins old BONE is removed.
-Reading your ad, I think that you try to use Microsoft Vista of origin and not the recovery image options because when you start the recovery procedure is no different 6 menus

Can you please tell me what is the problem with your Satellite A100? What are the files that you are trying to fix? What happens at the start of your laptop?

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro 6100 (model number: PS610E-029ZV-BE) second hand and have experienced a non-recoverable accident.

I need to reinstall it, but as you can guess, I don't have the recovery CD/DVDs. Someone out there has them and could send/ftp a copy?

I tried with an official windows CD XP Pro, but the key which is on the small sticker on the laptop is not accepted...

    Hi Bruno.

I recommend you get a new set of CD recovery of an authorized Service Agent. They are not too expensive, I recall.

  • Recovery CD/DVD Creator - not entirely visible welcome window - cannot run

PROBLEM: I want to create recovery disks via the HP recovery CD/DVD Creator.  I saw this program via) 1 Start/PC help & Tools/HP CD Recovery CD - DVD Creator and 2) C/Windows/CREATOR/CD Creator.exe.  Whatever it is, the Welcome screen appears but is not entirely visible (the bottom and right sides are transparent and I see my desktop through these sections of the screen).  I'm supposed to click on the "Continue" button on the home screen, but there is no visible button.  I can't close the window and restart my PC.  I tried running this program several times after I restarted my PC, but have the same results.

QUESTION: Is there a way I can reload this program, or should I try to create these discs from a command prompt?

    Thank you very much!

    new computer: HPE-180 t, Windows 7 Pro (64 bit), Nvidia GeForce GT 220, Intel Core i7 - 930 quad-core CPU @ 2.80 GHz, 8 GB of RAM

I was able to create my recovery disks with the creator of CD/DVD recovery by placing the pointer on the Welcome screen and pressing enter, even if I couldn't see the buttons on this window.  A pop-up window to get at any time (i.e. advising me to insert a DVD, etc...) I could see the entire window.  So, I was able to get through the creation of records successfully.

But I still don't understand why the Welcome screen is not displayed entirely.  I'll open a new message to see if anyone has any info on this problem.

Can someone tell me if it is possible for me to format this OS and install MCE on this laptop? And where I could get a recovery cd/dvd edition of Media Center? What is the procedure to install Media Center Edition of restore cd if I get a? And someone wants to share their media center edition cd recovery with me would be great.

    Hello Anand

AFAIK only devices with tuner TV have installed MCE and you can get the MCE OS recovery CD if you bought it with the Toshiba unit. If your laptop comes with Windows XP Home you can only get this form of recovery CD service partner. However, you can use the original cd of Microsoft Windows MCE. Then you can try to download all of the necessary drivers from the Toshiba site.

  • Equium L40 - Internet only in safe mode - is not recovery CD/DVDs

    Hello

It's my last chance I'm getting quite desperate.

I just moved back to the Spain of the United Kingdom, and it seems that I lost the recovery/backup DVD/CD that is supposed to come with the laptop. Something happened about 2 weeks ago, (viruses? trojan?) and I can't access the internet (any browser, explorer, opera, firefox...) in normal mode, in safe mode (I cleaned up the cell with several anti-virus, anti-adware and antitrojans, issues have been found, but the problem persists).

    Can you help me please?

    Thank you

I put t understand what you mean that it only connects to internet (wifi) locally. Could you explain that?

I understand that you use the WiFi connection to access the internet.
How you have configured the WLan settings? Are all set to automatic TCP/IP settings?
You are able to use the local network connection?

  • How to copy the recovery on DVD partition in windows 8?

Hi, recently I put asus s series laptop with windows 8 installed inside, I don't have a recovery with the laptop instead of this CD, they provided a recovery hard disk partition... and my question is If there is a way to copy this partition recovery for DVD and use it to restore the system at the time of the break... Please help me

I use ATI regularly for imaging, but I have not tried what you're asking. My guess is that you can use the DVD at any time to restore the drive to the first day (factory condition). But unless you had a failure, either with the operating system or the hard drive, why would restore you the first day? I don't think that someone wakes up in the morning and say: ' Hey, I think I'll put my PC in the way it was the day I bought it, just for fun. ":-)

I'm only theorizing here, but I would say that in the event of failure, put you in the ATI boot CD, use it to restore the recovery Partition from the DVD to the hard drive (which means probably wipe the disc in the process), reboot to the hard disk, then press what touches 'F' it to begin the action for recovery. Then it would be like a new laptop again.

Or maybe, with the recovery being bootable DVDs, you would just restore the hard drive directly to him. I don't really know for you; the recovery DVDs only I knew were like that (pick up directly from the DVD), but they were created with a program on the PC/laptop purchase. If you have a spare autour hard drive, you can always test the process to see if it works if you will not have to wait until there is a catastrophic failure, and then find out it doesn't work.

  • Satellite A100-784 - how can I make another copy of my recovery disc DVD

    Hi all

I have the Satellite A100-784, which comes with Vista Home...
How could I make another copy of the DVD from my recovery disc?

Also, I don't have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator... is downloadable?

    Hello

You n t have the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator, because this Toshiba Software is preinstalled on laptops equipped with HARD drive recovery option.
I presume that you have received a Toshiba Recovery disk this laptop doesn t allow HARD drive recovery.
Therefore, you cannot create a new DVD of recovery using the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator.

What you could do is to copy the supplied recovery disk.

  • Question about recovery use DVD on Satellite A50

    Hello

My son forgot where he put the recovery DVDs for the Satellite A50 laptop (bought in store for almost 5 years) future, he tried to install Windows XP using another CD.
Later, we found the recovery DVDs, but we can no longer use it.
Is it possible to delete the operating system and re-use the original recovery DVD?

    Thank you

Preinstalled WXP has nothing to do with your try to install OS using recovery media.
I'm really confused why this is happening, but that s be clear:

Saved on recovery media recovery image is created for some portable model and cannot be used on another model of laptop. So before installing recovery starts, recovery image check and compare information with the laptop. If the information stored in recovery image correspond to the information stored on laptop recovery installation is possible, otherwise it will stop.

When the laptop is faulty or repaired service must be portable computer information with the good. If this is not the laptop can be recognized and recovery plant will be halted.

So if nothing is changed on the laptop my only theory is that there is something wrong with the recovery media.
You can send us all the information written on this recovery media (numbers)?

  • Recovery without DVD player?

    Hello.

My older laptop needs a recovery but my isn´t DVD player no longer works. I have still my 2 recovery discs.

Is there another way I could transfer the data from the discs to another device as a USB - Stick or USB Ext. hard drive? Or do I need to buy a DVD player?

    It would be great help.

    Thank you

    Michael

    Hi Michael78,

Interesting to know which laptop would be, you have exactly, but if your CD/DVD drive isn't working, you need to replace the CD/DVD drive. T, you can copy files to another device, and then start the installation.

Usually a new drive you can order from a supplier of service authorized in your country. Simply contact the guys, they will help you. You'll get a compatible drive guys because not all readers are compatible with all laptops.

    Good luck! :)
