  • best2serve pile of crap recovery disc

    Hello

Two weeks ago, I ordered a set of recovery disc for an HP Pavilion ms215uk all in a desktop pc.

I paid £31.06 for drives that turn up. (7 days from order to receipt) - fair enough.

However - they did not work. Disc 1 is OK, but on the insertion of disk 2, I got an error in Dutch (not English) that the system recovery discs would not work on this system.

Great Stuff - Hp cannot even provide the correct disks.

Good so I then sent their emails of support of shit and got a response indicating that they would send others.

7 days later the disks turned up and guess what?

Yes - they do not have work - same message - Dutch once again - and after inserting the disc 2 disc 5.

It's 2 weeks - no recovery drive of work for my system - and 10 coasters.

What the hell is happening with this crap company. No phone support (now I know why) and only contact by email - which they have not responded to and its now more than 24 hours.

All brands on the site - even HP Hp can't help saying that I need to contact best2serve.

Well I can't contact them because there is no way to contact them outside of the email.

As far as I am concerned the disks are under warranty and that I should beable to call and ask why they do not work or have at least my money I can buy a copy of windows 7 and do a reinstall completely Virgin.

2 weeks is not good enough - I'm just glad that the discs are not intended for a customers machine. Best2serve are crap - useless - and not very reliable from what I've read on this forum and the net in general.

Oh - and discs are not manufactured or factory - basically, they are 1 x cd blank with green dye and 4 x dvd with purple dye. In other words discs burned and unprepared discs.

And they are not scratched btw.

So my question is what you do about best2serve or Hp?

I have to go to the negotiation of standards?

    Or

I have to create a website denouncing the best2web service and support - I could do a good job of it too.

    Your call.

    concerning

    peedoffbigtime

    Hi Paul,.

As promised I have news on the situation.

    And here are my results.

After many phone calls and e-mails to Hp and best2serve, I figured out that the Pc should be sent repair.

That's why the recovery disks wouldn't work - pc necessary fixation. EVIL.

The recovery discs would not work because I had installed a new hardrive.

The recovery discs check the dmi information in bios or dmi on the "original hard drive" string that is automatically written in sector 8 hard drive at the factory.

Replace the hard drive or the motherboard and your recovery disks do not work.

BIOS updates can mess up too, the dmi information which was not the case with this pc.

It's the original Bios HP 2009 - there isn't another available on Hp website.

However for some reason any (nothing that I did at all)-

    Model number: MS215UK

    Serial number: 123456789

    Version identifier: 94WEv6PrA2

The string Featurebyte: 333rd 2S2V and so on

    Part number: VG256AA

    The country Code: #ABU

has all the missing since the information screen of the bios by pressing F10 to access the bios.

It was like that for / to the plant.

To solve this problem, I used an Hp dmi tool that is not accessible to the public, but a google search for cpc_dmi hp tool should get what you need. He made me.

The 2010 version is the one you need.

So, I used the Hp Dmi's tool and the cpc_dmi.exe of a bootbale disk file and published this information.

Once I had done that and saved the settings of the chip rom all the correct information was shown on the system bios screen.

Now armed, knowing this info has been tattooed in the rom chip system I proceeded with the recovery disk install again.

I used the cd 'First use this disc' and then started the drive 1 0f 4

This now gave me a good screen of Hp recovery option rather than the screen in Dutch say the recovery discs would not work on this system message.

Disc 1 0f 4 installed perfectly and so the other 3.

My system is now recovered and working as it did in 2009 when purchased new.

    Then

I corrected the error of recovery disks don't work do not.

I stuck two fingers up to the Hp support.

I saved myself over £100 + by sending only not in Hp update bios dmi information. (FIX my donkey)

That said it took me two days to get this working correctly through complete trial and error, but I'm a happy guy now.

Oh - and don't will never buy Hp again. They suck.

    Thanks for the help

  • HP PAVILION ELITE E9280T D: CTO need new recovery disc

I have a pair of old HP Pavillion E9280T desktop systems. I have recently installed a new hard disks on the two (both are identical machines, ordered that a pair of HP).  I also have a two sets of recovery disks that I made when the systems are new, saved on DVD.

On a single system, I was able to successfully perform a full restore (return to factory settings).  On the other system, recovery stops on the 3rd disc in 68% and gives me the following error message: "Recovery Manager is unable to restore your computer by using the original image. Please contact HP support. 0xe0ef000e error code.

I've searched the forums and found that many others have experienced this same problem.  I tried some of the proposed fixes, such as clean rags and Re-partitioning the hard drive.  None of them worked.

For fun, I also tried to recover the system using the recovery of the other machine disks.  I discovered that I was able to do a full system recovery using these disks.  It tells me that I have probably a corrupt set of recovery disks and not a hardware problem.

Unfortately, while it was fun to find out where the source of the problem, I can of course use the same set of recovery disc for both machines (I'm sure that Windows will blow up as soon as I connect to the internet and connect to MS servers).

So my question is... what should I do?  I don't think that HP sells the recovery discs any longer.  But I have a copy of Win7 Pro that I paid for, trapped on the recovery discs that don't work.

In advance, thank you for any suggestions or advice.

OK... im going to answer my own question... I should have realized this earlier, before posting my initial question.

I had a set of recovery disc for an HP same machine... at the beginning I don't think that I could use them... I did not know that the unique product key MS is not copied or assigned to the recovery discs... and since both systems where the same in all respects... it worked!

    Hello

just bought a satellite A505-S6005 and try to create recovery discs.
    I am using Dynex DVD - R.

He created the 1st disk after the slightest mistake 2 times and when I started the 2nd drive continued to get again the message that is OE01BS-26 error Code - 2 said A 037303 power calibration area error occurred, check the disk for dirt or scratches.

The disks are not scratched, and after going through 5-6 discs wonder if something is wrong with the optical drive & not the disks.

    Any help appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello

I think it's a problem with your DVD media
    You are using incompatible disks!

Try different DVD from different manufacturers.
I m using the Verbatim or TDK DVD-R and my CD/DVD drive handles these discs without problem.

Check it! I'm sure this will help you!

I need to install the TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator & TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator utilities; I search in the Toshiba site, but nothing is there.

Why do you need these tools?

Hi can anyone tell me if there is a website where I can download the product recovery disc for

    Hi Kelly,

Sorry, I have to disappoint you. There is not the possibility to upload an image of a recovery CD.

If you have a Toshiba laptop without recovery CD, you can call Service Toshiba partner and order a new one!

You must sign a solemn statement and pay for the CD!

Sorry, it's the only thing you can do!

  • Satellite M30X: Trojan horse - total Formate with recovery disc?

    Hello

I had a Trojan horse on my Satellite M30X. My Antivirus deleted, but every time I've been connected to the Internet, it appeared again. Not connected to the Internet it doesn't give me any problems. As I couldn't get rid of him, I backed up all my data and do a fresh install from the recovery disc. As long as the button for LAN wireless is disabled, everything works fine, but just a little while, after I turned on it, I get a blue screen. When I restart my computer with WIFI turned on, it produces a blue screen before Windows is properly loaded, even during installation. I tried restoring 3 times, but it's always the same result.

1 is it possible, that the Trojan horse destroyed things of the pre installation?
    2. I can't choose to make a formatting during the recovery process. All data are lost, but I feel that's not formate the hard drive correctly, when everything is destroyed. It crushes just stuff?
    3. is there a way to make a good formatting, then install completely new Windows?

It is not a problem of my WLAN card, internet being no problem under Linux.

    Thank you for your help

If you use the whole HARD disk Toshiba Recovery disk will be formatted so if you have any virus or Trojans on your laptop, they will be also deleted.

But what BSOD code are you have? Are you sure that's the reason why the virus?
You have the same problem if you connect a network cable to the laptop?

Cannot install Windows 7 on Envy 14-1211nr of HP recovery disc sent twice

The Recovery Manager starts well. He correctly completed the following steps:
    1 format HDD

    2. copy the files from the CD to the drive. It copies all the 3 CD.

Then he ask the driver (the 4th CD) CD. Once I have this CD, then after awhile I get messge below:

    Contact HP support

In most cases, recover the hard disk will solve your problems.

If your problem persists, you may have to contact HP support. Find details of support HO in the documentation of your PC.

After that I see above meaage the only button I can click is "Finish". Once I click on finish, then in a minute, I get a message that "recovery completed successfully.

The laptop restarts and displays the message on the screen "Bootmger" not found

I called HP support and asked to run the hard drive and memory test and he succeeded.

I can install windows on another CD I have with.

But I can't install WIndows using the recovery CD, I received from HP. It's the 2nd CD series that I received these don't work or the other.

I have two identical laptops. Tried installing on both and having the same problem on both.

Can you please help with this.
    HP sends fake CDs?

    Hello

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - cannot install recovery disc

    Hi - I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 PSAC1E-04H00VEN model number

It was less his hard drive and I posted previously to try a 160 GB drive without success. I thought that the drive may be defective, so I have now acquired a 120 GB drive. It is not new, but assured me that it works. However, it does not work in this laptop! As before (with the disk 160), when I try to install it using the Toshiba restore disc, the operation just sticks on the "Please wait..." message. "for 30 minutes then the machine shuts down. Assuming that the hard drive is ok there at - it something more, that I can do to determine the problem with this laptop?

FYI, this is what happens after installing the hard drive:
I turn it on and get this message: NTLDR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.
I insert the product recovery disc, put off and then again when you press F12.
I get a soft Purring over the Toshiba logo. I select the CD/DVD symbol and get a short message saying: the installer inspects the hardware configuration of your computer.
I then get RAMDISK image loading... which takes less than 2 minutes.
I then get a short message saying: from Windows Preinstallation Environment. Press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver...
I then get it please wait... and after 10 seconds, the fan goes into overdrive! This Carry on during 30 minutes with him please wait... message, then the laptop turns off automatically.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you.

    Hi Lapitup,

Before you buy another HARD drive, you need to test a different installation disk you have already tried the two hard disks with the same problem so I think that the problem is not HARD drive itself

If you have a normal installation disc of Windows, you can install Windows on this drive. So you can check if the recovery disk works properly or not. Theoretically, the disc could be wiped off so that the files cannot be read properly.

In the worst cases, some of the material is affected. Then, you need professional help of an authorized service provider.

  • Re: The recovery disc restores my important applications

    Hello.

About two weeks ago, I used the Recovery Media Creator to restore my laptop to its factory and create the 4 dvd recovery media.

I had an important application installed.
Would it not possible to recover these media?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

Do you mean the 3rd party applications that you installed after the laptop has been configured?

No, these applications are not part of the created recovery disks.
The recovery disc contains only the image of Toshiba.
The image is a package that contains the Windows system, the driver Toshiba and the tools and applications like Win DVD or similar

  • Cannot start my TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator

    I have laptop Satellite A300-148
Since I bought I tried to create a recovery disk to format my laptop, but every time I try to open 'TOSHIBA Recovery Disc Creator' this message appears on my face:
ERROR: "(5) to C:\Program Toshiba Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator\Setenv.ini were denied access."
    What should I do?

    Hello

I don't know what the problem is here, but the only thing you can try is to install the operating system with recovery image in the hope after the new installation of OS, that this tool will not work correctly.

The recovery image is recorded on the second partition of HARD drive and to start the recovery installation press F8 after starting your laptop. In advanced startup options, select the first option to fix my computer. When the system recovery options are shown, please choose the last option in recovery Toshiba. After doing this just follow the on-screen menu.

When the operating system is installed, try using Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator. I recommend you use high quality DVD-R media.
