Recovery disk, for 7, 3 product key. What happens if I want to install win 8.1 pro on the same machine?

I bought a lenovo desktop, which came with win 7 pro preinstalled via downgrade rights in win pro 8.1.

now my questions are:

  1. How to make a recovery to win 7 pro disc, that I can use if you need arises to reinstall win 7 pro. ?
  2. Since then, the win 7 pro is preinstalled, so how do I access the product key?
  3. What if I want to install win 8.1 pro on the same machine - product one key method to do?

Former title: windows

The instructions in the same article shows you how to restore the image if you need to do:

http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/

One of the things that I recommend you do so after creating the system image is to change the name of the computer to something else, so if you decide to create another backup system image, it's not too write the original. You can use this even as a method for having multiple images of different systems.

I think that the best product for your use would be VMware Workstation; However, it is not a "free" product I would suggest starting with VMware Server or VMware Player - these two are free and will allow you to run the virtual machines that you want to run. These two products are really intended to very different use cases:

    VMware Player

Intended for the performance of virtual machines that are generated by someone else (i.e. Virtual Appliances). There are free sites out there for you to create your own virtual machines (VMX Builder & EasyVMX!, so this isn't a problem.) The thing that really distinguishes the player outside the server's user interface. Drive is really much better if you intend to sit in the front of the system running the VMware product. You will get a much more responsive user experience.

    VMware Server

Expected to run virtual machines on a server "headless". You can create virtual machines, but the great "fight" with the server, is that you basically have to use a program of remote access to access/use your virtual machines. Server comes with a bundled remote access solution, but it is - say - not the best thing for constant use.

If you use one of them to start with and you find that you want available in VMware Workstation features, then you can go out and spend the money to purchase a license (you can also start with a free trial of workstation...)

  • What happens if I am just installed win xp sp3 on Windows xp sp2?

I just installed win xp sp3 & in properties, she changed my OS from sp2 and sp3. It makes no difference to my current operating system or not? (GOLD)  Should I reinstall it?

    Hi DawoodYousaf,

He is quite right, as you look in system properties. Windows XP Service Pack 3 is an important update for the operating system. It includes all updates previously released for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new features. It also includes published earlier updates of security, performance and stability for Windows XP.

After you install this update, the properties of the system change and show that Windows XP Service Pack 3 is installed. So what you see is completely normal.

No, you can't. Why do you do this? It is not an upgrade; the
two are the same; only licensing rules are different.

  • I'm looking for my upgrade product key to Win10?

    I use a Satellite 10 P50-B-q PSPNUE.

Upgrade to Windows 10 wonder 8.1 Windows product key, which I did not. All packaging of my Toshiba and also the laptop does not show the typical Windows license product key seal.

Gives me a resonable key to retrieve via keyfinder product key, but Windows 10 know what isn't correct.

How can I know who is my correct product key for the Windows OEM Toshiba 8.1 I use?

You bought a laptop with preinstalled Windows 8.1 system and this system has already been activated during the first connection to the internet.

Upgrade Windows 10 requires no serial keys where the beginning system has already been activated!

If you want to return to factory (back to the preinstalled Toshiba system) you must use the recovery media.

Recovery means can be created using the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator!
And it is strongly recommended that before you start the upgrade to Windows 10!

  • Laptop HP G62-451SA: cannot read the label for Office 2010 product key as it dissipated over time

Obliged to restore settings after a total crash.

Spent the whole day as recommended by HP, including using my recovery disk that has failed.

Tried to open Microsoft Office 2010 as usual, but said to give the product key to activate it.  Mine is on a sticker on the bottom of my laptop.  Unfortunately it is place to be where it is that some of the numbers have disappeared over time.  Now I can read only the last 15 digits.

Ages worn on Microsoft support pages and basically they said that the onus to solve this problem since I legally paid for it when buying their product to HP.

I'll lose more than a year of work, if I can't get this sort.

    Thank you.

The label on the bottom of your laptop is not for the office. It's your Windows license key. It should say Windows 7 Home Premium above the numbers.

Most of the HP machines come with a trial of office unless order you it with more full Office and pay extra. The trial usually actually works after the period 60 day trial - unless you do a recovery. After a recovery it will require you to buy a license key to use.

  • Hard drive crash, have no CD, they have a product key what do I do

My son gateway computer hard drive crashed. I'll have to buy a new hard drive.  I don't have vista or bridge or other recover CD.  I have the license of vista product key.  I don't want to buy a new copy of vista.  Gateway wants to charge us just to ask a question, since the machine is out of warranty.  Ideas, suggestions? Is there an ISO somewhere?  The machine was Vista Home Premium 32-bit. Thank you.

You don't need to buy a new copy of Vista; an unnecessary expense.

Follow the advice of Carey to communicate with the gateway: http://support.gateway.com/support/default.aspx

    And read this:

    Vista DVD:

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Or borrow a good DVD (not Dell, HP, etc.) Vista.
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

    Hello

on the official means, it is not possible to get a recovery disk in another language. Only, you can try to find someone who has a version in English of the M300.

You can also create the system by yourself with a Microsoft Windows CD English. Programs and the necessary drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba site.

  • I have only 20 numbers for my Windows product key, and it should be 25... How fair?

Windows for Vista Ultimate product key

For your desktop... product key is on the side or at the back.

For a laptop... product key is down.

The following are examples of how looks like a product key:

  • Old product key does not work, he wants just a new... I have not one and not buy a new...

My computer broke down 2 times... and get very frustrated... now, I have no office, it was ask the product key and I put in what I have, he wants a new... I don't have one. I'm not a geek... I need help please. I have HP a6244n PC, Vista Home Premium. One of my friends has reinstalled a different system? or whatever, I would like to than my vista back... I think he put xp over there...

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

Reinstall the appropriate Operationg system provided with your computer.

Contact the manufacturer of your computer.

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/contact_us.html

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
