Recovery of password on PowerConnect 3524

I hate to admit it, but I'm puzzled by the documentation and the CLI on a PC3524 whose unknown password I need to reset. I downloaded the User Guide and the CLI reference and tried the command-line help feature, but it's still not clear to me what commands I'm supposed to enter.

I a PuTTY connection upwards I restart the switch and press [3] to password recovery, after which the switch continues a SwitchName boot > prompt.

Then what? Login? With what parameters? Then what? Looks like it should be 3 or 4 orders for access me via the web console, where I can do the rest.

Anyone can facilitate this nube Dell PowerConnect CLI, providing commands I should use?

Thank you!

Ok. Read the manual and came up with the answer. And it is here, in case it helps other nube:

After booting into recovery of password mode, these commands to the console will be resets the local 'admin' password:

    Hello everyone.

The company I work for, I test switches to see who is good and who is bad. I've already marked the switch in question as 'bad' for these mistakes - but I've never seen this error before. My colleagues have not either. Therefore, I ask the community what kind of error is what it means and whether it is potentially fixable.

My device is a Dell PowerConnect 3524. He is currently out of warranty.

What I did: I have deleted the startup configuration and then run the Setup Wizard. I put an IP address, gateway, and password. The rest, I left the default values. This configuration works on all switches that I have ever tested, including this model, so I think that this configuration is not serious.

Then I plug in an ethernet cable in all ports and the other end into a very small 5 port switch that also has other trendy items above, the phone and my main computer. They all get internet, I don't think that there is a problem.

I plug another cable in another port of the switch and the other end in a laptop sitting on top of the switch (my laptop test).

I start ping the local firewall and run it with the "-t" parameter so it does not stop.

It is fine for about 5-10 minutes usually. I can trade ports and others and she'll pick up ping soon and do what it is supposed to. After plugging into the wrong port, (7 or 8), I get the error "SW3P_callback_rx_frame - intervention arp - put the scrapped." and cannot pass traffic. PuTTY shows that the connection is established and transfer, but the ping is not possible.

I am only an intern, this switch is not vital and will be sent to the "cemetery" and all my business done with switches will be. I am just curious to know what it is. Anyone know what it is and what could be done to solve the problem?

    Thank you for your time!

I couldn't find any relevant information on this error message. With errors that occur only on specific ports and a new configuration, it really sounds as a kind of material error. Will there be another message that accompany this message? If you haven't already done so, re-flashing the firmware of the switch can help ensure that the message is not caused by an image that has become corrupt.

  • Recovery of password on the C/SX Series (No. PWREC)

    Hi all

Is it possible to reset the password of admin on C/SX series TC6.x and TC7.x?

I know that 'PWREC' user can reset admin password.

But it puts not only admin password, but unfortunately also all the configuration (= factory-reset).

In addition, SX20 is not any console port, so if you forget the SX20 admin password, which means, all we can do is factory reset.

(no root for TC7.x account now)

    Best regards

    Kotaro

    1. The recovery of password PWREC user has been deleted because of security considerations. There is no way to recover the password, if it is lost the system must be factory reset. If physical factory reset is not possible, it can be done via the web interface. It is also possible to connect through the series as a user of reset.
    2. Connect the cable series on the system at 38400, 8, N-1
    3. Restart the system
    4. Sign in with the user "factoryreset. This user is available just a short period of time after the reboot (it is still available in TC6). When connect with this user, it is possible to make a systemunit of xcommand FactoryReset confirm: Yes.
    5. Do a reset: 'Xcom boot.
    6. The system is factory reset.

If the root account is activated in TC 6.X, we can change the password using the command "userdb setpassword admin . We cannot use this procedure 7.x from

  • Recovery of password on AIM - IPS

    Hi all

Could someone be so kind and help me with the recovery of password on our AIM - IPS. I followed the steps in http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/6.0/installation/guide/hwTS.html#wp1117969 to no avail. I destroyed all my hair. Thank you very much someone who solve my problem.

    Jaroslav,

    Of course it is ;-)

Instead of sessioning at the device, you are your own router sessioning

    bsns-2821-4#service-module idS-Sensor 0/0 session
    Trying 192.168.15.15, 2194 ... Open

    AIM-IPS-TEST login:

And when you do your session:

    Refoma# service-module idS-Sensor 0/1 session
    Trying 10.15.10.1, 2130 ... Open

    User Access Verification

    Username:

By comparison, when you telnet/ssh to the router:

    bsns-2821-4#telnet 44.11.252.4
    Trying 44.11.252.4 ... Open

    User Access Verification

    Password:

I added a baseline configuration that should take care of the hand of a problem, but I guess the big question is, what has been done to trigger this ;-)

    line 130
    no activation-character
    no exec
    transport preferred none
    transport input all
transport output pad telnet rlogin lapb-ta mop udptn v120 ssh
    stopbits 1

  • Recovery of password on a 3750 Switch

I tried a recovery of password on Cisco 3750 switch. I followed all the steps and got to the point where I copied the config.text to the running-config. After that, I got the switch privilege exec mode. When I tried to configure the switch with a new enable password, I got the following result

    Switch1 # conf t

    Authorization failed %

Even the show commands do not seem to work

    Switch1 # sh run

    Authorization failed %

Switch1 # sh ip int brief

    Authorization failed %

Can anyone suggest how to get on this question to reset the password of the switch.

    Thanks in advance,

    Kind regards

    REDA

Do you need to keep the configuration? If does not need, do not copy the file config.text to the running-config. Password recovery is over.

If you need does the following.

Do not copy the file config.text to the running-config. Before copying to the computer file config.text. Open and edit with Notepad (remove the aaa and change the enable password). Then, copy the file config.text (which you changed) for the running-config.

  • After recovery, admin password information with 'points' and impossible to remove or change

    Hello.

I ran yesterday, updates of Windows 7 but only those necessary.  I do not have one of those as an option.  After the updates completed, I turned on the computer and he was stuck in a loop cycle - from windows, then the admin password, connect you box came.  The box was fiiled in (with "dots" but too many to represent my password) and the screen just quickly flashed back & forth between the login screen and 'incorrect password '.     I tried to change username, and it flashed back into the admin log.

I did a system restore to the factory settings (after saving all data) using the recovery discs.  After recovery, the screen "Set a password for the account" comes with the box below "Type a password" completely filled with dots.  I can't delete them with the BACKSPACE or DELETE key.  If I put highlight and then try to erase it with BACKSPACE or DELETE, the cursor just moves on the right side of the password box, but it is not always remove the defective "dots" password so that I can change.

I tried to restart with the power and then switch on again.  After selecting the country & language again, same password screen developed.

It's stuck!  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  I have computer I have is the HP Touchsmart 310 1155 - Y.

    Thank you!

It's curious with a recovery.  First, try to reset the password using NTPassword.  Do the boot CD that him following the signs.  If this does not resolve the problem of signon, think to install the operating system from a typical drive of Windows 7 to the same version, using the key of the COA sticker.

    Hello

Im trying to recover the password of my switches stacked (doing the procedure on the master switch), im following a guide I read in this forum ("SRW248G4 V1.1 can't reset the password") to the terminal console chose "password Recovery" he invites the 'current password will be ignored"and then I hit"Escape"the departure of configuration of loading switch at this stage, I try to open a telnet or http session, but the connection fails.

Here is the password/username combo im using (admin/empty; admin/admin).

Is it possible to restore the admin password or should I just reset hardware switches?

    Thank you

Hi Jose, when you use the password recovery, he temporarily 'white' the password. When prompted for credentials, you should be able to hit your "enter" key without typing anything.

Well, it's Outlook Express or Outlook? You mention both and an older version of Outlook Express would not run on XP.
