    Hello

I put t know exactly what's wrong, but I remember these problems might appear if the drivers, tools, and utilities are installed in the correct order.

  • M30 problems! Please help me

    Hello

I recently bought a model M30-961. I have a had a few problems with it. Please help me.
    (1) the touchpad gets very hot when I use it
    (2) the battery does not even last me 01:30 hours listening to music or watching DVDs (I thought that it should last for at least 3 hours because it's a CENTRINO)
    (3) is it possible to use the multimedia keys (play, rewind, forward, stop) to use to listen to music or watch DVDs without downloading the OS?
    (4) I bought the extended warranty with it. It would also cover the battery?

    Thank you
    Mazen

    Hey

Sorry, but the extended warranty does not cover the battery, a battery warranty is just one year.

And you can use the multimedia keys when the computer is turned off, all you have to do is to keep and hold the button mode for 8 to 10 seconds.

How hot it gets the touchpad? and when listen you to music or watch DVDs is where all applications running on the background, which could have an impact on the battery life?

  • Vsync satellite M30 problem

I have the centrino 1.6 with 64 MB fx go5200 15.4 "widescreen m30. You can use the new nvidia drivers like 66,10 but only those modified that you can easily find on the net.

The main problem is that you cannot change the refresh rate that he is stuck on 60 Hz. For this reason, rates of frame for all games are 60 Hz and very slow, even if you use the refresh rate overrides.
There must be an option to disable similar to menu opengl vsync. I tried the 3rd party applications such as NVRefreshTool 2. 1A, but it didn't fix the problem.

Anyone has a solution on this. By the way there is a solution on the net about this black border problem that some have. You must search for it.

As far as I know that Toshiba display driver are supported as the those of Nvidia are not for laptops!

Do you have this problem with a Toshiba driver held, too?

What operating system and Service Pack you are using? For XP SP2 might occure problems with different drivers, so you need to update!

Does not my modem (Lucent/Agere?) - (downloaded from the Toshiba site) drivers are installed without problem (no warning in Device Manager), but the modem can not open the (virtual) serial port.
I tried all the possible drivers and installation plans.
I installed successfully Nokia mobile (via IR) as a modem and it works without problems. But the internal modem is not able to open the serial port when running test.

Furthermore, I can't change the settings of resources.

How to solve the problem, do you have any suggestions?

Can someone tell me which driver is appropriate (because I still think I need to find the right driver).

Finally, I do not have the original CD from Toshiba to get the driver... If anyone has the same model and you can send the driver by e-mail, I will be very grateful! (E-mail: [email protected]).

I can't create a recovery using Toshiba picture disc. DVDs are dismissed as empty when they are empty. DVD R/W burning OK with Microsoft and Nero software. How can I get a fix for this problem? TIA ZIZOUETZIZOU

TOSHIBA recovery disk can be created with preinstalled Toshiba media recovery ONLY tool creator.
So I t understand why you use software from Microsoft and Nero.

Did you check user manuals document s and the chapter on the recovery media creation?

To create recovery DVDs I recommend you to use empty DVD-R virgins only.

  • Recovery satellite L100 problem

    Hello

My laptop model is Satellite L100 and I need to reformat average recovery there. I had a disc that when I bought came with laptop

    Set of recovery DVD-ROM
    Windows XP Home Edition SP2.

I insert the recovery DVD and start it's work.

    After that...

    "Please wait."

At the moment, I saw my pointer and portable auto restart.

I tried several times but still the same problem.

Is any solution to this problem?

    Thank you very much
    Raymond

To offer a solution, we need to know exactly what happens and on this path is not easy to say why the installation of recovery stops on this point.

Is recovery DVD OK? I mean is clean and scratch free DVD?
Enter the BIOS settings, set the default value and try again.
If the same happen again try to get original Microsoft installation disc and check if the installation starts fine (HARD drive should be recognized).
You can also try to get another HARD drive and check if the installation stops on the same point.

It's really not easy to say what the problem is here.
Do you use DVDs of recovery for the first time?

    Hi Snen,

It would be interesting to know what CD/DVD drive you have. Maybe you should try to update the firmware of the drive. For some readers of Toshiba and Pioneer, the site shows an update of the firmware. It s worth a try!

  • Strange keyboard on my Satellite M30 problem

    Hello

I have a problem with the keyboard on my m30. He still thinks that the shift keys are pressed. The only way around this was to disable the two keys in the registry - using an external keyboard.

    External keyboard works perfectly.

Thinking it was a problem with my keyboard, I replaced the keyboard m30 twice, but still have the same problem, even after a thorough cleaning of my OS.

Do you think it could be a motherboard problem? It occurred after a year.

    Thank you

    TREV

    Hi trev

In my opinion just detailed testing can clarify the situation. In my opinion, there is a hardware problem. I think that this keyboard controller is faulty. Maybe I'm wrong, but as far as I know internal and external keyboard don t use the same controller.

Try to contact the Service partner and ask them what may be the problem. They know what the problem is here.

  • Recovery system causing problems with the size of the screen.

Due to some problems I had, I finally had to yield and perform a system recovery back to the manufacturer's specifications.  Once this is done, I downloaded all the updates to Vista, all the drivers, etc..  Everything is square and works fine now, with a big problem.  I bought a monitor 20 "a few months ago.  It worked fine before the recovery is done.  Since the resumption, the display is smaller, as if I still had the old monitor 15 '' on the system.  I did that the driver for the monitor is correct and up-to-date.  I found a way to enlarge the display of the size of the screen in an online search, but it does not clear up the problem.  For example... If I go to a site like the Pogo, the bottom of the site is almost normal size for the monitor, but the game pop up displays the size of the screen 15 ''.  I tried everything I know and can't get this last problem fixed.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I also checked the resolution and makes sure it's OK for this monitor.  Thanks for your help.

Do you have the driver from Microsoft or directly from the manufacturer?  If Microsoft, go to the manufacturer website and download THE latest drivers applicable on your screen and the version of Vista (Microsoft sometimes cause problems).  Does the monitor require any firmware - if so, download and install that too much of the manufacturer's web site.  You can also update the video card drivers and firmware just in case it is the underlying cause of the problem - again go to the web site of the manufacturer to get the files rather than using those available through Microsoft.

Go to start / Control Panel / customization / display settings / and make sure that your monitor is displayed in the drop-down list.  If this is not the case, click on the box and see if you can find your monitor and then select and make the box extend the desktop to this monitor is selected.  Go into the advanced settings, click list all Modes and try one at the top, if it is not already selected (assuming that it is appropriate for your monitor).  If this does not help, try others that are compatible with your monitor to see if you can find one that allows you to achieve your goals.  It may not work, but it's probably worth a try.

Other than that, I don't know what to think.  You already seem to have covered most if not all of the bases.  If the above does not work, maybe someone else review this thread will have other ideas to offer.

    I hope this helps.

  • Lenovo 3000 N200 - cannot access Rescue and Recovery - MBR poss problem?

I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 sick who was running XP home. I could not start XP and can only access the Rescue and Recovery utility in the Lenovo recovery Partition that would be to rebuild the hard drive to factory settings IE. Windows XP with no data. I managed to copy the data using a Paragon backup cd and then made the fatal mistake of attempting a repair MBR, which was a very tempting option on the Paragon rescue cd. Now, not only it does not boot to XP, but I can run is even more Rescue and Recovery to reinstall XP which is the problem!

If I boot with windows install disc and take the option recovery console it stops, statement that "recovery console could not find the hard drives connected to your computer. Setup cannot continue. "

I was wondering if someone another backup MBR restore could help me with this?

So, if someone has a Lenovo 3000 N200 work and is willing to try to save the MBR to send it to me, then please get in touch. It is probably useful to make a backup for yourself where the same problems happen to you!  In my view, there are a bunch of programs that backup the MBR for example MBRtool, MBRWizard and so on.

Any ideas, offer accepted with gratitude.

Yes I know I could buy the Lenovo recovery disk, but it is a matter of principle for me avoid paying £50 or so if I can avoid it! We'll see if we can help here...

    Thank you

    Simonides

    I am pleased Andyp!

The solution was to set the primary partition to inactive and value the recovery partition Active, then restart and use the Lenovo Care button (now finally works) to access the function of recovery so I could return the laptop to factory State.

No doubt there are plenty of ways to do it, but the approach I took to solve this problem is released under

    1. use another PC to download Paragon backup and restore (I actually used the trial edition now but the free edition may have a similar feature)

2nd burn a CD bootable backup and recovery 10.0.

    3. start the CD Lenovo, and after a long wait, a menu should appear with 11 options, the first of them being Paragon backup and restore.

    4. Select Paragon backup and restore.

5 select properties in the pick a task window and you will see two partitions, a big enough (in my case Go 143, called Preload) and the other is quite small (6 GB called SERVICEV001).

Note: this is an opportunity brilliant to use the Back Up Partition option to make a backup on external drive USB of the two partitions as the reconstruction of the hard drive with Lenovo Care button you will lose all data.

6 right-click the partition preloads and select Edit and set idle

    7. made the SERVICEV001 partition right click and select Edit and set the Active

8 remove the backup and recovery of CD and put it somewhere safe

    9. restart the PC and Lenovo Care button (might be called something different) should now work, allowing you to restore the hard drive to factory settings which will erase all data of a personal nature. You did a backup?

10 Windows should then start as usual, reinstall Paragon backup and restore, and restore your data.

Finally, look at this as a lesson to

    (a) you get a writable DVD and use the Lenovo menu under windows to create a floppy disk from Lenovo rescue and recovery started.

    (b) use Paragon or equivalent to create copies of images of each partition and ordinary differential copies of the primary partition.

I hope this will help other owners who have a hidden rescue for example partition. IBM and HP and would like to receive feedback.

Finally, I must acknowledge assistance patient e-mail provided by Taisia Smirnova Paragon support by offering me this solution.

    best, Simonides

  • Recovery media creating problem

Hello, I just bought a X 1 in carbon fiber.

There is a media recovery Q: partition I want to backup to an external hard drive.

When I run the media recovery software, he's looking for a disk to install it to. It is said to reformat this player. I plug my external hard drive which has 2 partitions. 1, the main disk partition and 2) a partition newly formatted specifically for this recovery media, but it detects only the primary partition on my external.

Please can someone explain why it does not detect the other partitions on this external hard drive? I don't want to erase the 2 TB of media, I have on the primary partition of my exterior, and 2 partitoins are formatted using the same type of file system. I did a 40 GB partition to compensate for the files extracted or all the extras.

I just called tech support with my warranty of 3 years Expert Committee and spoke to someone in Georgia who did not have any any idea what either partner computer. She asked me what icons under System properties, I saw and she asked me what my picture "looked like" after that I explained that I was on the partition windows 7 and I could see the Q: drive 'hidden' with the support of recovery on this subject.

So far I'm intensely unhappy with the service that I paid the extra to have problems of this kind. I'm clearly not to get an answer from him on this subject, so if someone here might chime, it would be great.

    Thank you.

    jolive wrote:

Utility to create recovery media is supposed to control the layout of the MBR and the partition on the disk target.  The utility is supposed to create simple, directly bootable recovery media and is intended not simply to do what you want.

  • Recovery discs creating problem

    Hello

I just bought a Lenovo 3000 N500 3 DG and I have this problem when I try to create the recovery disks:

I do double click on unity of q, and the system then asks me if I want to do the recovery disks. Then I click 'Yes' and the system creates a first disc succesfully (labeled "disc 1 product thinkvantage recovery"), but then I inserted a DVD to make the second disc and when the system is it creates about 80-90%, an error occurs and the process is interrupted. This error occurs whenever I try to create the second DVD, exactly at the same point in the creative process. I tried a few types of DVD and none of them works.

I think this may be due to a failure of the windows vista software, recording, because when I burn a DVD with Nero everything is Ok and when I try to burn a CD with windows, that an error occurs at the end of the process of the. Could someone tell me how to do the recovery discs?

I also have a second question: the laptop comes with windows vista Home premium pre-installed, and I want to downgrade to XP Professional. Does anyone know if the warranty expires during a downgrade? And if I decide to do the downgrade, then I remove the three partitions (C:, q and S or the S: partittion is necessary for recovering the system?)

    Thank you!

Please take a look at the solution in this post to see if that helps your situation. To let us know.

If you upgrade to XP is not invalidated your warranty, the warranty covers the hardware and not software.

If you create recovery discs for your Vista installation, you can delete all partitions, recovery CD will be recreated them when you use them.

    Hope this helps
