  I want to perform a Toshiba product recovery, using the partition on the HARD disk. I did it before and no problem.

  It s really complicated because the STRANGE is placed inside and remove it you must remove all the screws that fix the bottom cover.

  OK what I mean try, reboot your system with the Windows cd again and see if your dvdrwe drive cannot read the disc. Unfortunately, you can have a bad disk but before ruling out, you need to do some troubleshooting steps more. Did you try and install your DVD - RW drive on another pc will exclude both software and hardware, or if you can install another drive on your pc.   RELOADED XP pro with SP2 (reformatting, wiped the entire C drive) but can't update via windows update.  It seems that the ActiveX control is loaded, but once an update is attempted I get the error number: 0x8024400A.  I tried several suggestions posted with no luck.
