(Redirected) Vostro 260 + Radeon HD5870 compatible?

Good afternoon

I'm new on this forum and really need help, I have a radeon 5870 graphics card and a desktop dell vostro 260 pc, at the opening of the case there is a 16 pci slot so that it fits, with a few mods to the HARD-drive carrier, I managed to squeeze it with a 750 Watt (500 minimum) power , problem is that the bios will not detect the card or give me options to tell him to choose this card so I don't have on board graphics, I have updated bios, graphics support (equally serve as a chocolate fire guard) disabled dell in the phone hardware Manager and still can run , map and elongated supply works fine on my other vostro 200 a anyone you have this problem.

    Thanks for any help.

You can have 8 GB of RAM and an SSD hard drive:

Microsoft Sim 2004 has been designed for Windows XP, released in 2001, and may not work for a modern OS, such as Windows 10 released in 2015.

  • Vostro 260 - BIOS update A08 A10 impossible

Yesterday I downloaded BIOS A10 for a Vostro 260, but it has this error message when I start the update:

    What's not here?

    Hi all

    Here is the update file.

  • Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Dell Inspiron 620/Vostro 260 NO Bios for AHCI

Interestingly, I couldn't even update the bios without the INTEL drivers.

Check in the Device Manager, the machine uses the ATA drivers not AHCI drivers

AND will not install the INTEL RST drivers.

    Why is this?

I tried to upgrade to the version of the Bios A04, but this made no difference.

I did some research and discovered that the chipset in this system, the H61, simply does not support AHCI or RAID. There is no way to activate for a reason. :(

Wish I had known this. The value of this system really went down the tube if you intend to launch an SSD in there.

  • Driver Windows XP for Vostro 260

    Hi all

I'm fighting for a network of windows XP on Vostro 260 driver

I can't imagine there are not one, but I loaded a driver from Realtek, containing a driver for the reference found in the identification of the interface (DEV_8168 & SUBSYS_04EE1028 & REV_06).

I installed, but the interface does not start. What should do?

    Thank you

    Ch. Waterkeyn

    Hi all

The only factor that contains the exact reference DEV_8168 & SUBSYS_04EE1028 & REV_06 are on the realtek site: www.realtek.com.tw/.../downloadsView.aspx

where we can find the version 5.806 driver of the network interface on VOSTRO260

I thought that it wasn't working, but I do probably not uninstall correctly previous drafts.

So don't forget to uninstall completely any previous driver for the interface (I guess that's always the case, but I'm not very used to the installation of the driver)

Hope that this will eventually help someone...

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion p7 - 1270t: Nitro Sapphire Radeon r9 compatible card 380 mother IPISB-CU of carmel2?

I'm trying to update the graphics card on my computer Pavilion p7 - 1270t product # A5T37AV #ABA. The motherboard is the IPISB-CU Carmel2. What I have seen most of the new NVIDIA cards will not work on this motherboard because they need UEFI rather than old BIOS, I'm looking at AMD cards. My question is if the Sapphire Radeon Nitro R9 380 will work on this motherboard. Sapphire says that the card supports UEFI and BIOS legacy. I will install also a 600 Watt power supply which should be more than enough for this card.

Update: BIOS version that I have is CAR_716.ROM vCAR7.16

    You are welcome.

No, I'm not aware of such a list. at least HP.  It would be almost impossible for them to make such a list.  Even the manufacturers of video cards are not entirely sure that a card will work or not.

  • (Redirected) Vostro 3360 hardware problem

I have a Vostro 3360 I'm trying to fix up.  It seems that when I turn it on, it immediately acts as if the 'g' key is held down.  In the bios, in the name of windows on the screen.  I can nothing that can stop him.  I can't type on it either.  I even took the keyboard out of the machine and it still occurs.  I plugged an external keyboard and still get this problem.  It seems to be a problem with the motherboard I think?

Its a laptop nice and I wouldn't mind replace the motherboard if this would really solve the problem.  But I would hesitate to buy a new motherboard $ 300 and have the same problem because I forgot.

    Any help is appreciated.

The Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33 GHz 6 M L2 Cache processor should work fine, in 200 Vostro with the Version of the BIOS, already mentioned in my post.

Considers that for Quad-Core Core 2 Extreme QX9650 processor, 3 GHz, 12 MB L2 Cache, it will not work with the motherboard installed in your Vostro 200, for a compatible Core 2 Quad, a card mother G33M03 and a 350w PSU is necessary, I believe that your motherboard is the version with a power supply 300w G33M02.

  • Fan power supply ATX Vostro 420 * or shot? !

I'm looking to replace the power supply in my Vostro 420 with a standard ATX power supply.

New ATX power supplies have a large 120mm positioned on top of the PSU fan. Does this or *?

It is important because the Vostro is not really compatible with ATX design - the case has a solid above the PSU Panel so that the power supply unit must be mounted with the fan down on the mother/CPU card. A fan which breath would simply blow the hot air on the CPU.

Conversely, a fan who * would * hot air from the motherboard in the power supply and on the side.

None of these options is great.

I am puzzled how to mount a new ATX PSU and if the fan * or breath.

What is the best way to mount a new ATX PSU in a case of Vostro 420?

The shift of the 4 screws on the back, you CANNOT point the fan at the top.  He is pointing down and draws air upward.  Graphics also of VENTILATION at the back. AFAIKT ZERO types bring in air from the rear.  Even the location VENTILATION fans in the back.

I hear from the front the front of the case.  The power supply is located on top of the CPU fan and hoovers to the top of the hot air and sends it to the back of the case.   This is the norm for almost all Dell I can think.  There are fans of aspiration to the front of the case and video cards and blow hot air from the PSU to the rear.

  • Dell Wireless 1502 (802.11 b/g/n) half mini-map WLAN

Tried to remove this map on a new Dell Vostro 260 (there where he didn't need) and put it in a Dell Optiplex 360 with Windows 7 x 64.  When you try to install the driver the setup.exe gives the message: "Setup cannot run on this platform."  I tried to check I select the Win7 x 64 option to download but still no luck.  The file info is Driver Atheros 26/05/2011 - Version 9.1.0.328, A01.

Maybe is this not compatible with older hardware Core 2 Duo card and require an i3 + chip?

Even if your original post is a year old... I had the same problem. I downloaded the x 64 driver package 9.1.0.328, A01 win7 and it failed with the same problem. (The strange thing is that I have an another Inspiron 620 running win7 x 64 and the driver installed, a native of Dell, is the 9.1.0.328 version?) So, I tried the other available win7 x 64 package, 9.2.0.517, A02. Yet once, didn't with the same "the installer cannot run on this platform." I decided to try and manually install the driver instead of using the installation program. Pass - Manager Control Panel/hardware and sound / control unit and made a right click on this card in 'network adapters' click on "update driver software," go in the appropriate directory on the C: which was created from the extraction of the package, and then click 'ok '.  I could get my dell 1502 works this way. I deleted the complete directory which was created from package 9.1.0.328. I found myself with worm 9.2.0.517... only because it was the second package that I've extracted. I assumed that 9.1.0.328 would have probably worked this way too much.
