Reference Dell E6420 randomly not SSD detection at startup

Specifications of the computer:

Dell Latitude E6420, Intel Core i5 2520 M, 2 x 4 GB = 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia NVS 4200 M, 250GB HDD, Win 7 Pro 64, Bios A23

The value of operation SATA AHCI and not quick start. I have 3 of these computers. They are all out of warranty.

I replaced the original 7mm Hitachi 250 GB for the Intel 535 240 GB SSD HARD drive.

I used Acronis True Image 2016 to clone the hard disk SSD. Cloning process is very much like on any other computer.

The problem is that each cold 4 or 5 boots the computer cannot find the SSD drive. Restarting the computer solves the problem of that time. I have to find a solution. I want to sell them with a SSD and not with a HARD drive.

I tried the things:

Update the Bios of the A14 to A23.

Put a spacer of 2mm on the SSD and of course the resettlement of the SSD.

Exchange for another Intel 535 120 and 240 GB.

Clean install of windows I knew was a waste of time because it does not affect the BIOS does not detect not things.

Googling the problem for hours.

Call dell?

Use another brand of SSD? He probobly won't make any difference to look at other threads.

Use a HARD drive? Last resort. I can't stand slow hard disks regularly.

Reference Dell E6420 seems to work with a Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB instead of the Intel 535 very well. Tested over a period of 3 months with no problems. Threw 535 readers intel in the desktop instead.

  • Reference Dell OMSA - does not work after the installation of KB3161608

I recently installed the last batch (June 2016) the MS updates on our servers.  It went well with the exception of two servers, both running Server 2008R2 and a PE2970, a PE2950.  These are our only two servers running server 2008R2.  On both machines, after installing all the updates, I was unable to open OMSA.  The browser will display "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".  OMSA continued to work properly on the rest of our servers, which are almost server 2008.

I tried another browser, but that has not worked.  OMSA reached 7.3, so I downloaded and installed 7.4.0 and the 7.4.0.2 updated.  I found references to similar online, and some of the install OMSA fixes problems using the prompt, or "runas admin".  I installed them all over the place, but no matter how I installed it, I got the same result!

I've not found errors in the event logs of the server.

So I started uninstalling updates until I found the one who broke it, and it was KB3161608.  Uninstall this update fixed OMSA on both servers.

This updates is listed as optional, so I'm not sweating it for now.  I believe that this is a certificate problem and could be fixed by creating a new self-signed server certificate, but this isn't really my area of expertise.  But I wanted to put this out there in case it might help someone else.

In my tests, you should communicate the updates installed then OMSA will not work.

  • Reference Dell V313w does not print

First of all I apologize if it is redundant. I spent countless hours scouring the web for answers and have not found anything to solve my problem. I looked in the forums as best as I can, but nothing helped. I'm having a problem with a Dell V313w while one that seems common, and yet I've seen no concrete answers for this problem. Basically what is happening, is that the printer seems not to get the message that there is a print job. It will print say once and then when I go to print another document he'll sometimes sounds like its going to print but only it noting. The document stuck in queue, and I have to restart the computer to clean. I did all the recommended steps, stop and start the coil manually, run the command to stop and re started the coil. I deleted all the anti virus, deleted and reinstalled the printer as a device and have updated the firmware from dell. Nothing seems to work. The copy function works fine so I know not peripheral t it will be printed. It is the communication of the computer to the printer. I have enabled all ports USB to continue to supply electricity and the problem occurs without the PC goes into hibernation mode. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 570 running on Windows 7 64 bit with an AMD Athlon II processor. Any help would be appreciated until I throw this printer into the wall. Thank you, Eric

    Hello

I have exactly the same problem with my Dell v313w and Dell XPS 64-bit win7 computer.

Has anyone confirmed that the removal of the Explorer 11 is the solution to this problem?

My sister yesterday failed to get a boarding pass printed. She got the first page printed and then stumbled on this issue. It has restarted the computer, and then on printing the page, it would not print black ink even if there is black ink.

I have been using printers in my life and this model printer, quite frankly, is the worst model I had the misfortune to have had. I had like an hour with my laptop and intend to throw if I can't get this problem to be solved permanently.

    Thanks in advance

  • Reference Dell MFP printer not print.

I bought a new Dell anything anbout one laser printer low there. I installed it. I can see the icons on my two computers. But when I try to print, either directly but through cable or wireless (I have a router which works fine), I get the error is "no printer error paper or. In addition, I could not send a fax - machine was sound and sending it came out with the error. Before this printer I used HP printer which worked very well. I'm not able to get any help either Dell or the vendor, Staples. I would much appreciate if someone can help me.

Answer: * address email is removed from the privacy *

    Thank you...

I have no way of knowing if you have purchased an extended warranty (or package), Staples and Dell.  If you have registered your Dell product online, you should be able to determine the status of your warranty by entering the number of serial number of your printer here--> http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04
This article explains how to find your serial number--> http://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/04/article/Product-Support/Self-support-Knowledgebase/locate-service-tag/Printer

You had two icons for your printer showing in devices and printers, probably because one is for the USB connection and the other for the wi - fi connection.  Assuming you have an edition of Windows 7, follow these steps:

    • Open devices and printers
    • Right-click on your Dell printer icon, then select "printer properties".
    • Select the "Ports" tab

One of the lines in the list of ports is highlighted and verified.  Look at the value in the "ports" column (if necessary, click and drag over the low vertical line in the header line to make the column wider).  If the value is an IP address (for example, 192.168.1.25), then this icon represents your wi - fi connection to the printer.  If the value is something like USB_001 or DOT4_001, this icon represents the USB connection (cable) to the printer.

If your printer will work with two active connections (some printers will disable the wi - fi connection if the printer is connected via USB), then you must give these names separate icons so that you can choose whatever you intend to use at any time.

I suggest that you are troubleshooting with the printer connected by USB (cable).  In this way, you don't have to worry about if you have the appropriate safety information to connect to your wi - fi network.

Regarding faxing or incoming calls "answering machine" printer, the printer must be connected to a regular telephone line to send faxes.  If this is the same line that you normally use to make and receive calls, the portion of the printer fax is probably configured by default to answer all incoming calls.  There should be a setting somewhere in the configuration of the printer system to change this to never answer or answer only after a number of rings (which gives you a chance to answer a call with your phone).

  • Reference Dell V313 will not print

First of all, I want to say, this printer has been the worse product I have ever used in every category imaginable. It not worked properly since 3 weeks after I had, when he ceased to recognize the USB drives and memory cards.

The problem I have now is that it will not print in color or black and white.

I tried to print a picture and the color cartridge is almost empty, I went in the "printer properties" and choose "print using black ink only" because the black cartridge is full. When I hit print, I could hear print head printing, but the page was completely empty.  So I went back to the properties of the printer and selected 'print using all available ink' and it does the same thing when I hit print; He acted like it was printing, but the document was empty. I then tried to print a Word Document using the ink option available, and it still prints blank pages.

I do not have another color cartridge (I would rather replace the printer than buying more cartridges for this), and the black ink is full. If someone has encountered this problem, and if so what was the solution?

On the off chance that the black cartridge had stopped working, I replaced it with a new one now I got, and now it will print in black.

It's already happened, where a new cartridge close suddenly stopped working. In the past, I tried to clean the cartilage of the ink (according to the directions in the link above), but it didn't work. The only solution was to buy a new ink cartridge.

It is a problem out of dozens who did anything printing nothing but frustrating, to the point where I stuff my e-mail and pay for print work.

Needless to say, I am replacing that pile of junk as soon as possible, and I'm never buying another Dell printer.

    Hi mxcuk,

Thanks for posting your request on the Dell Community Forum Office client for protection. I appreciate the opportunity to answer your question of digital download.

Although I am not technically inclined (this forum is for non-technical issues) I was able to find the following link which may be able to guide them through this process.

  • Reference Dell Update IS NOT RUNNING for the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver

    You just bought a mini-tower Optiplex 7010 with Win 8 Pro 64 - bit, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HD and Intel Core i5 3470 3,20 GHz.

Noticed in the task manager that the process/service IAStorDataSVC started eating memory and becomes very large RAM over time.  A number of people have commented that a solution would be to update his original driver 11.5.  The Intel Web site offers a number of superior versions of pilot, 11.7 to 13.2.

However, to play it safe, I checked support.dell.com - drivers - and given that - surprise - Dell offers an update to version 11.6 specifically to solve a problem of leak memory.  (Wow - this doesn't happen so often!)

So I followed the instructions on the Dell page to download and install, but in the end, the new driver file does NOT show how to install it.

The end of the manual of Dell, Dell wrote:

    5. After completing the file extraction, if the self-extractor file window is open, close it.
    6. click on the Start button, then run.
7 type "C:\DELL\DRIVERS\X50R1" (where "X50R1" is the name of the file) in the open text box, and then click OK.
    8. follow the on-screen installation instructions.

BUT HE DIDN'T THERE OF NOT ON-SCREEN INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!  (Dell - you can't always - missing something every time with you - you are so blurred).

The only thing that happens is that the C:\DELL\DRIVERS\X50R1 file opens in Explorer.

Well, I linked the TWO (!) different .inf files and manually selected 'Install' and restarted.

From what I can tell, the installation is only half there.  Some of the related files now show driver 11.6, but others still show 11.5.  And IAStorDataSVC grows again in the use of RAM - like in a monster movie.

-HOW CAN I DO THIS COMPLETELY AND CORRECTLY?

OR - Maybe - should I just download a MORE recent version directly from Intel and install it like Intel?

Thank you.  (And when Dell will start to pay me?)

Using the version Intel should be ok, but manually set a system first, restore point just to be sure.
