Reference to the rules of cluster

When you use a reference to a cluster are there limits

When she went to a sub vi?

The cluster can contain other clusters?

A 'type def' cluster can contain clusters 'type strict def?

Can the references go stale?

You can reference a reference?

I create arrays of references, are there problems?

Can the references go stale?  Perhaps.  Depends on the reference type.  If this is the kind of reference to something that you can open and close later, all-purpose addition of that reference would be vitiated.

You can reference a reference?  I don't think, but I don't know.  I've never had a situation where I thought I needed to do.  What is your use cases?

I create arrays of references, are there problems?  As long as each element of the array is the same type of reference.  So if you had a reference to a numeric Range on a Boolean value, the resulting table will be converted to their closest common class that would be just an order reference (as opposed to a Boolean control reference or a digital digital command reference.)

OCluster was put in a cell in this column, that's why you see intervals in the rules.

Here is a brief technical explanation of OCluster binning and the mapping to the rules:

    Description:

Initially, we generate rules for ferries. Like 1<= x=""><=>

The 1 and 5 here are bin ID for the attribute 'x '. (Cut for the x attribute values in different trays)

After that, we did a real bin IDs in the range remapping say 1 <=>'[0;. '. 855346]"and 5"(9.40881 <=>; 10.2642].

which finally gives us the rule "[0."; 855346].<= x=""><= "(9.40881;="">

    The rule "[0;." 855346].<= x=""><= "(9.40881;="" 10.2642]"="" actually="" means="" 0=""><= x=""><=>

    The rule "[0;." 152381].<= y=""><= "(1.06667;="" 1.21905]"="" means="" 0=""><= y=""><=>

  • From numerous references to sub - VI you use clusters returns an incorrect reference to the nodes property

    Hello

I'm moving in the data from the controls on the main gui (also information using indicators) in my Subvi. For the life of me I can't figure out what the problem, I tried dang near everything so any help is very appreciated. Also, I suspect that my cluster may contain too much information. Finally, yes I know there are a lot of posts about it, but none seem to alieviate my problem.

(Just a warning, if you try and you run the code, you will first need to change where the data file is stored, it only takes all the sensors and calculations information and stores it in a file)

I couldn't reach all the Subvi, so I joined him relavent those. The main problem is the LangmuirTroughStepperMotorCodePlusSubVi in DataGatheringSubVi

    # You can not use 'create a control '.  I have no idea which wire or terminal you think that using on.

    You must:

Remove one of the constant pink cluster.

Move the static checking references and functions of Bundle for out of the loop.

In each group, take the wire coming from the output of the beam, he wire through the wall of the loop like a tunnel.  Connect it to the appropriate entry of the Subvi.

  • Reference to the array of Clusters with an array element

    Hello

I have an array of clusters of CONTROL (qualifying as "upper-tier cluster table") with one of the items is an array of cluster cluster (see attached).

I intend to "reference" of this cluster of high level at different screws (as add item VI, insert item VI, delete the item VI etc.) and access (add/edit delete) the elements of this array.

In my code, how I cataloged the array element (cluster) on the cluster internal (as shown on the figure)?

I use LV RT on PXI.

    Hello smercurio_fc,

Thank you for your example! Just a question: actually, with shift registers, is an example of creating a local copy of the full range? Even if the value of the lowest level cluster is changed, is the complete table is updated at the end (registry value to offset the full picture at the right end is updated using the reference node and property)? This VI will be slow when the size of the array becomes great?

    Comment of nicely.

  • disable the items in cluster

I have a cluster consisting of 10 Boolean buttons.

Is it possible to easily disable some of the Boolean buttons inside the cluster without unbundling and rebundling of the cluster?

YES you can get references to elements of a cluster individule.

Right-click on your reference node and linkto the element of the cluster.

  • Set the value of cluster control in secondary school

    Hello

Is there a way to set the value of control from one cluster to a high school?

I enclose my screw in LV8.0

    Charly

If you have a reference to the VI being put into secondary (which there or it is not in the secondary, right?) you can use it to get a reference to the façade of the VI. This in turn will allow you to read an array of references to all the controls and indicators on the front of the Secondary VI. Cross this table by looking at the text property of the label: for each reference in the table until you find the one for the control of the cluster.

Now, use the specific function to more class to convert reference generic control of the pole to a cluster reference. You can use it to get an array of all the controls within the cluster. Now, go through this table by looking at the text property of the label: for each reference in the table until you find the one for control quevous want to set and you are there...

  • One way to approach the typedef a cluster by programming

I have a need to extract the labeltext attached to a parent typedef of various front groups. Unfortunately the strict type defs apply strictly for referenced controls labeltext. Is it possible to use a Panel control/cluster reference before addressing the typedef parent programmatically? Or y at - it a way to extract the original/typedef labeltext programmatically for a cluster given façade/control?

I don't know if I understand. If you are typical of a cluster, each element has a fixed label. You cannot change the item labels in different forums.

That being said, I assume you mean the entire cluster (typedef instance) label. This can be changed, OK.

I don't see any purpose to read the label of the typedef itself, however, it is possible. You must create a node of the cluster (instance) property, then select the 'Typedef VI' property. using VI Server, you can make reference to the façade, read controls (which is the actual typedef cluster) and the text of the label.

Please note that the first property that I mention is part of the VI Scripting, so you'll see it only if you activate scripts VI in LV options.

  • Reset of the CAN bus without knowing the reference of the tasks

    Hello everyone,

I use the API CAN channel to read data from a CAN bus while at the same time taking measures using other DAQ devices. When my VI throws an error after the CAN bus has been initialized and started, try to kick start my VI will force the init-start CAN VI throw an error because the channel is never allowed.

Is there a way to clean a channel CAN without having a special reference to the wire? Otherwise, how could I solve this problem?

    Thank you!

    Erik

    Hi Erik,

Is the error that you are experiencing from the same service on a regular basis?  If Yes, what can be done before adding them to the whole application of error handling, you can add a case structure, use the cluster of error in this function to act as the selector for the structure of the case and add a Clear Channel command to the real case of the structure, followed by an error handler.

Now, that being said, I still recommend using throughout the application, management errors, especially if this will be distributed as an executable file.  But for purposes of development, it is perhaps the fastest way to implement a clear failure of the VI function so that it restarts correctly on the next iteration.

    Kind regards

  • How to create a reference in the schema when running?

    Hello

I make a program and I would like to create references to objects at run time, y at - it a function in labview that lets do?

    Thanks in advance!

It of maybe just me, but what do you mean by "cluster objects"?

What is a cluster as terminal? If this is the case, then just to let you know, that a cluster cannot change the size/number when running, you need a table for this.

Where are you what to change the visibility for?

If it's a 'high-level' orders/lights vi you what to change the visibility on a Subvi, then you must provide the sub - vi with an array of references to the controls/indicators.

  • How to get the reference or the property of a member in OOP node?

    Hello world

Is it possible to get the referral of a member in OOP?

After you have created a class and an insert, a member of control in the cluster, I conclude that, when a right click on it, there is no element of "creat-> reference" or "create-> property node?

So, how to get the reference or the property of a member in OOP node?

    Hello

There are a few reasons that you can't do what you want to do:

1 al ' LVOOP ordinary (as opposed to the DVRS in LabVIEW 2009, or some other framework / pattern design) are items of LabVIEW by value, as a cluster and therefore you can not create a reference to a class.

    2. a control of the object (this is what you get when you drop an object on a façade) is a 'black box' because you cannot look inside. This is to support the idea that the class data private. This means that you can't get a reference to all internal control when its on a façade

    3. check the references are valid only for the controls in the Panel before and therefore any class (or other piece of data of LabVIEW) on a wire / shift register / constant / anywhere other that of the façade, will have only the data portion of the available control.

To access the items within a class, you create the accessor screws (you can create them easily by right-clicking a class (or the folder within the class) in the project tree and selecting New-> VI to access data members.) This VI would at least have a unbundle / bundle node (depending on whether its read/write) and could, if you have many more features such as range checking. You can use this VI whenever you want to read the Member your interested.

    I hope this helps.

  • Table of references to the different types of performance issue

    Hi all

See the attached code. I use a reminder VI and must pass a few references via the user's settings. I use a table.

This is to avoid the constraint (should I care?), I type cast to more of a generic class, then in the callback function, go to a more specific class. (What is the best way to do it?)

As you can see, even if, for some reason, almost all the nodes property are reading as variants, forcing me to use data Variant, which seems inefficient. Why is this the case? If I type cast to a Boolean, the value should be a bool... Why force me to use for the data range?

Is there a better way to do this? Thanks for the comments.

If you use a cluster of istead of a table, you can maintain the rigour of the reference.

The reason why you have found variants is that you don't are not cast the ref to the same type. Try...

Hand, create a strict constant of the wire Ref. Make slide a constant in the call back VI and use it when you launch as more specific. Property nodes you adapt to the specific data type they have in hand.

    Note:

You can also create references of the appropriate type by dragging the appropriate type of control in the Ref control and it will fit.

    I hope that makes sense.

  • How to reference an object in a cluster?

I have a cluster that contains a few digital paintings and several Boolean.  I would like to connect a single reference for the entire cluster to a Subvi and have the Subvi individually controll Boolean values.  How this is done?  I worked with specfic opbject references but I don't know how to work with references within the groups.  I'm under the impression that this has something to do with the strict property nodes but I'm stuck on his approach.  I'm using Win - XP and LV 2009 SP1.

  • Problem with the rules after upgrade of the VM in foglight cartridge

    Hello

There is a small problem with the rules after that I updated the VM cartridge level.

In the default rules, I changed a few settings so that they will act as I need.

However, each time I upgrade VM cartridge my rules are off and marked as backup.

The question is: is there a way to upgrade the cartridge and keep my active rules after upgrading?

    Best regards

    Victor

    • Title

Backup rules fill in the dashboard management rule after Foglight upgraded
    • Description

After that an upgrade of Foglight was conducted, several backup rules are created for rules that have been published before the upgrade. For example:

      Cluster VMW IO network
      Cluster VMW IO network (backup)

    • Resolution

During the upgrade procedure, the FMS has detected that some of the original rules have been changed in some way. It copies the rules previously upgraded in backups, before trying to merge the contents of the update rule in the former.

Assuming that the FMS works as expected, the rules of backup can be deleted. However, it is best to confirm this in the respect of the rules first before making deletions.

When editing rules, particularly rules OOTB (out of the box), it is recommended to copy the original rule, disable the original rule and edit the copied rule. This should reduce the risk of the problem described in this Article.
