    • Blue screen after reformatting and installing VISTA HomePremium

      Hello

I use DELL Inspiron Laptopn and somehow my recovery disk does not work without knowing any reason. So I did an installtion manual disc using my DVD-ROM.  During installation, the Installer application choose what installation disk. I selected 'Advanced Option' and deleted the Partition C: (in primary print) and the MediaDirect (Logical type). Then, I used all the unallocated space to create a new Partition and install windows inside.

The problem arises when the installation is complete and loading into windows, a blue screen appeared for 0.5 sec and the system has rebooted. I tried to reformat the drive again and reinstall Windows, but the problem persists.

Would it cause I have deleted the MediaDirect logical drive, which caused the blue screen? Or a full HARD disk format (including recovery drive D :) will help?)

      Pls advise.

      Kind regards

      Lester

    • How to reformat and reinstall Vista?

I tried to install microsoft security essentials on an old computer and got an error code. They said the worm is not allowing me to clear it... and I need to reformat the hard drive - how can I do this? Thank you!

You have a disk for Installation of Vista genuine?  If not, do a Diskusing recoveryhttp://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD (perhaps made on another computer).

Boot the disk. You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

Follow the instructions until you get to a menu of options, including the control panel.  Open the control panel and type format c:\ and enter.  This must format the drive.

If this does not work, go to start / Control Panel / administrative tools / computer management / disk management and go to the drive you are trying to format and right click it and make it not active.  Then repeat the process - this time, it should work.

If this does not work, use the procedure described in this article:http://www.ehow.com/how_6368366_reformat-drive-vista-operating-system.html.

I hope this helps.  Keep me in the loop.

      Good luck!

    • Video card driver displays an error message after reformatting computer with Vista

I reformatted my computer using windows vista and I kept getting an answer that the used copy was an illegal copy of windows. In the meantime my computer was working fine. I called Microsoft and they verified that it was not an illegal copy and gave me an additional code to activate windows. After activation, my image of the screen became smaller with a border of 1 inch black around the screen (I have a widescreen monitor). I tried to correct this problem and have discovered that my video card driver has an error message saying that windows has stopped this device because it has reported a problem. I tried to reinstall the latest version of the driver, update to windows vista and tried all the suggestions that have been proposed on the microsoft Web site, and it still doesn't work. I reinstalled everything again with the same problem. Can you please help me solve this problem. Thank you.

    • Have not corrected to Vista by chance Free Upgrade Windows 7, Windows 7 disc.

have not had a single problem for a set of 4 years on Windows 7.

Already in 2010, upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista because my Asus G51vx qualified for the free upgrade.

I don't remember how the upgrade process was done 4 years it's long.

Last night I decided to reformat and give my phone to my mother, (everything was going slowly and was cluttered with the data that I had already saved)

I moved Windows 7 Ultimate on my PC that I built.

I used Magical Jelly Bean to save my product key and information, but could not find the Vista Windows Asus recovery DVD, since I couldn't find an edition of Windows 7, I guess that's how you have to reformat; Back to Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7.

      Now I'm stuck in Vista x 64

How can I get back Windows 7?

You are lucky, you still had the vista Asus recovery disc reinstall Vista, who operates a Vista.

It was the way to reinstall Vista as the COA sticker is worn

There is no more we can tell you.

The key that you say is for Windows 7 works, or it doesn't.

If that does not work, contact Asus.

    • What happens if I reformat my PC?

What happens if I reformat my windows vista computer?
The files on the windows folder (C:/Windows) will also be formatted?

I'm confused. How can I reformat my PC? I don't have a copy of Windows Xp but I have a Windows 7 Cd (but it does not read the computer) and now I tried to download a Windows Vista.

Please tell us the make and model if your PC. You mention XP, Vista and 7. It cannot read a DVD you mention.

This looks like an old XP system for me. Particularly if the material is so old, he can't read a DVD that is can only read CDs.

XP has reached the end of life and should no longer be used.

If your PC is not Vista capable and thus 7, 8.1 and capable 10, it's time for a new PC.

    • Download Vista OS

A few years ago I've "downgraded" from Vista to XP because I had a bunch of stand-alone for XP Pro and was not at all satisfied with Vista. Now that XP is no longer supported, I need to reformat and install Vista for the sake of security. Sony wants $34.00 for recovery disks, which I wouldn't use anyway. I usually spend more time remove the OEM stuff and fluff that comes on them that I don't want to not interfere with my work on my system. My machine has the Vista certificate and key on the bottom. Why wouldn't I be able to download the operating system and use my key? Vista will most likely soon anyway how to XP.

Did you follow the following steps after you have installed?

"And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop."

Use the machine, you're on to get here to do if you cannot access the Net > find and download/save drivers (Chipset, NETWORK card, network adapter, depending on how it is formulated it) > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer to another machine.

      See you soon.
