reformat questions__do I remove the old drive c and restalled

I'm clearly on the old disk
Restalled drivers... the hardest thing I'm going to now who to installed

Hi Rosie23,

You do not necessarily have to reformat the drive before installing Windows, as Windows will replace everything that is on your hard drive.

That said, it all depends on if you are re - install from a retail boxed copy 'complete' (it is a copy you yourself bought in a store) or if you use the PC manufacturers recovery disk.

If you use the PC manufacturers recovery disk, so this reformats automatically the hard drive before reinstalling the operating system on the drive image, restoring your PC back to factory conditions. However, if you have partitioned your hard drive (the one with the operating system installed, no additional disks), then a disc of PC makers will also delete these.

You can view an illustrated guide to the installation of Windows Vista on my site. The illustrations are an installation of "full retail pack. If you use the disk to PC manufacturers you won't see not these sceenshots as the manufacturer of PC uses just a backup image of re - install (usually held on a "recovery" on your hard drive partition.

Regarding the re-install the drivers, you will need to re - install a bit (or more to the point to update), but most must be installed by Windows itself. Hi PJG_918,

To resolve this problem, you must turn off Simple file sharing and then take over the folder.

  • How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?

Original title: Old files Windows, Program Files, etc.

I tried to use before Disk Cleanup and it worked, and I haven't run a complete installation.

I'm having a problem now, this time, and I did a full install.  Disk Cleanup doesn't show any options to remove an old Windows as it did before.

How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?  I also try to remove the Program Files folder, as well as with an implementation since.

It is showing an error message "I need to be in the Administrators group ~", and that TrustedInstaller is owner of the present.

I have a question that "TrustedInstaller" has full authority on the file system, and 'Administrators' has limited access.

I noticed that there are other three to make a total of four names of users who have all or nearly full access to the file system.

Can it be fixed... it's pretty annoying to see this continue..., strictly through Windows Update.

I look forward to your reply.

  • Remove the old hard drive's "system Reserved" partition

I installed a new Seagate 1 TB hard drive and a new operating system Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit on my HP Pavilion a6500f PC.  I kept the old Seagate 500 GB disk, put it in an envelope and formatted to use as a unit of storage for backup of my drive.  However, when I open 'Computer' after having turned on the envelope I have 2 drives listed instead of one.  It says a (J) is the system reserved partition and the other (K) is the drive.  I put a picture to show what I mean.

As you can see in the middle there are two partitions for the main drive (C), and the bottom shows the drive J and K.  What I want to know is how to get rid of this drive J so that all I have is the K left.

    Help will be greatly appreciated!

Personally, I would use free mini tool to format the drive externally

Of course you have formatted the other not the entire disk partition

Reason to use the mini tool is that it is more user-friendly :)

But you can drive system 6 reserved a right click and select Delete volume

  • Satellite Pro P300 - remove the HARD drive to make a backup?

My P300 went to my local store to repair for a network card problem. I thought it was just a software problem or driver, so I wasn't worried that my machine is still under warranty. After investigation, they stated that they could not resolve the issue, so would be to reformat and reinstall the OS, they thought they should solve the problem.

To my horror, I found that they had broken the seals of guarantee and open to the top of the machine. They claimed the only way to save the P300 before reformat it, is to remove the HARD drive!
    Is this true?
(It turns out that a broken chip is to blame, but because they violated the warranty, Toshiba will not touch!)

Can anyone say about this the removal of HD to support it please?

    Hey,.

Normally it of not necessary to restore the factory settings with to remove the HARD drive but don t you worry about this. The laptop can still be opened from a service provider authorized without losing the warranty.

I also put t know why they did, perhaps they have checked the material. It would be possible because they have professional diagnostic tools.

But interesting to know whether or not your problem is now resolved?

  • Cannot remove the old user account (admin)

I'm on a MacBook Pro 15 "the retina with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.

I have two admin accounts, an 'old' I do not use and a more current that I use.

I want to delete the 'old' admin account, but I get an error message: "cannot delete user... account error backup in the home folder for this user."

Here are the steps I followed:

    1. System Preferences-> users and groups

    2. click on unlock icon; authentication with username and password

    3. click on the 'old' user account and click on the button "-" to remove it.

    4. Select the option "save the home folder in a disk image", then click on remove the user

    5. for the moment, he says 'delete account '.

6 then I get the error message.

I know that I could choose the second option (in step 4), but I really want to move the old files of the user users users/Deleted.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated

The first thing that comes to mind is the following: is there enough room for the disc to be created image and put in files? The files are not moved from the reader to the disk image, they are copied. Then for a time in the account to be deleted files will be on the computer two times. The second thing that comes to mind is that there is a directory of the hard drive problem. If you do not have enough space and is my first problem, start the recovery partition and use the directory of disk to repair the drive. And the third thing that might be the cause of the problem is a bad file that cannot be copied to the disk image. It will be difficult to understand because basically, you will need to open each file to find the one that is perhaps incorrect.

  • U430 power and key flashes after removing the hard drive

    Hello world

I just bought a U430 touch and try to put in an (Sandisk Ultra Plus 256 GB) SSD.

I followed the instructions on how to open the lid and remove the hard drive as described in the maintenance manual. I created a USB startup disk and changed the order of boot from USB. But when I try to press the Novo key to then proceed with the installation of Windows, the power light and keyboard just begins to Flash slowly. I tried it turn instead to use the Novo key and the same thing happens.

I tried to do it with and without the key USB is plugged. I also then put the old hard drive and put the top back on and he always does. I thought maybe that just means that it is in mode 'sleep' but by pressing the power or by pressing the keys does not help.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you.

Pretty beast feeling right now. The memory seemed to bottom, but it wasn't.

You can free disk space by deleting files or unnecessary programs.
also delete the temporary files. (use CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download )

    to increase the virtual memory,

    • Right-click on my computer, go to properties.
    • In the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab
    • In that, in the performance option, click on the settings button.
    • In the new window (performance options), click the Advanced tab.
    • As you can see the virtual memory option.
    • Click on edit, and then increase the virtual memory to a specified size (size larger than your RAM (2 X remommended)

  • transfer files from the old drive hard windows 7 to new computer windows 8

My old laptop windows 7 crashed for an unknown reason, so I bought a new laptop with windows 8. I removed the hard drive from the windows 7 machine and using an external enclosure card connected to the new laptop.

I can see and open any public folders in the folder of the user data, but can not access a user folder. Also when I right click on the folder of the user, it seems that they are empty.

I have tried making the appropriation and unchecking hidden files but still no luck.

    Pretty frustrated right now.

I think I solved the problem.

I had to do a right-click on the folder user and copy and paste in a new folder. While he was doing that he clean up some data. Don't know exactly what was going since I wasn't there when it happened.

Once he went through this process, I could see my user files to the new folder and the old hard drive.

Sorry I can't explain it better.
