  You have a few choices.  You can buy a 3rd party program to backup such as Acronis True Image or Norton Ghostor you can install the program NTBackup comes with XP Home, but is not installed by default:

The software will not be able to detect hard drives, whether they are connected to the router and the router does not have this capability to configure drives in RAID 0, 1, or JBOD.   External ODD cannot be recognized as boot device and you won't be able to use it.

  See operating manuals and there you will find a list of all compatible ratings, buy one and replace.

  In theory, it works... but you will have to set up the AirPort Express to create a wireless first, then go back and turn off the wireless feature.
