Reformat Windows 7 hard drive for the next clean install Windows ISO 10

This is in anticipation of the next clean install of Windows 10 ISO.

It is understood that I need to move from Win 7 to win 10 first, before clean install. (Select MS verify the legitimacy)

It is understood that I need to reformat the hard drive before a clean install.

It is also understood that the "recovery disk" can reformat the hard disk.

===================================================

One of my computers in Win 7 I would successfully created the "recovery discs. (Wonderful)

--------------------

Problem:  My other Windows 7 (Vista upgrade) will not let me create the "recovery discs.

When you do: start / run / recovery

It allow me to create "backup and restore disks. (This is not the recovery disks that I need).

===========================

Question: How do I reformat my another computer on Windows 7 (Vista upgrade)?

Note: Two computers are different: the first is a HP, the other is a gateway.

("Partitions" of hard drives may be different.)

I don't know: if I can use the recovery made the first computer disc to reformat my second hard drive?  If this isn't the case, I'll be in trouble, because I don't know how to reformat my second computer.

You need to use the means to reinstall that you can upgrade Windows Vista Setup to format the drive.

The other system recovery media is likely to not work, but you can always try, but have appropriate reinstall media just in case.

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

I know it's important to run the hard drive test, but when I run the diagnostics of the system for the Test drive, it says:

I was also on the proposed site and even after "reset my BIOS to default", it recommends running the hard drive test, which does not simply because it has not really helped me the "there is no hard drive. There was a YouTube video that I came across thus suggested pulling the hard drive and diconnecting and reconnect to correct the error in this case that the son is detached, but that no longer works.

SO, I don't know if there is anything more that I can do, I guess that the hard drive is super dead.

It comes with a Seagate ATA hard drive. I was wondering if I could replace it with a SATA hard drive or should it be an ATA? (Even has the material capacity to support a SATA drive?)

Also, it is even useful to replace the hard drive? Should I get a new laptop instead? This laptop is used mainly for just browsing online and checking emails.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Yes, the hard drive is so dead, that he not yet register as a hard drive. The dv6-1000 series certainly uses SATA, not ATA drives so I'm not sure of what you see. You can replace it with any drive SATA 2.5 inch width 9.5 mm thick.

Watch this video between: 53 and: 59 and see that it's a SATA drive. If yours is different, so you have confused with your model.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=QQx7PlIXFuE

Hard disks are a small fraction of the cost of a laptop and if your what it takes to, I would say that to replace the hard drive rather than buy a new one.

It is an excellent drive at a great price:

Since you have a Dell and a recovery CD and not a recovery Partition, check how many partitions you need by using disk management:

    http://www.theeldergeek.com/disk_management.htm

In case you have a partition with the operating system and a partition of the utility partition, I would only recommend formatting the partition from the OS. The Partition utility can be very useful.

You can integrate the drivers Sata (ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI) and burn a new cd XP with nLite .

Here is a guide showing how to integrate and here drivers Sata. 7-ZIP or Universal Extractor are good at unpacking the installer.

  • XPS 420 - HARD drive failed, performing a clean install of Vista on the new HARD drive.

    Hey everybody,

My on my XPS 420 HARD drive failed and I'm trying to reinstall Vista using the disc that came with my machine back when I bought it.

I bought a new WD10EZEXAZ (1 TB Serial ATA HDD), he rose in the same dwelling as my old HDD (ST3750630AS * Barracuda 7200.11*). I start the PC and goto Setup, it recognizes the HARD drive in the blue menu.

Then I boot with the CD of Vista that came with my system. I proceed as indicated through the following url:

    Clean install of Vista

After its copied files, expanded the files, installed features, updates installed... it goes to "Complete Installation" and throws an error message: "Windows Setup could not configure Windows to run on a hardware on this computer."

I tried a few things I've seen posted on the internet, including trying to run msoobe.exe via command line. When I did, it allows me to Setup user... but finally I get sent to this message of error or another telling me I have to reinstall Windows.

I read else where some hard disks may not compatible with the Dell disk provides with my OEM machine. If this is the case, can someone advise? I really didn't want to spend $100 one another on a Windows 7 disc, but I feel like this may be my only option... but even in this case, I'm not so sure this will work or the other.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Tony

    UPDATE *.
Did some more research, I discovered my new drive HARD is an advanced HDD format... not sure if it has nothing to do with my problems (by www.wdc.com/advformat Vista should not need to perform the work before the OS being installed), but thought I would mention it.

    Thanks again for any help.

    ****************

Seems that I found the solution to my problem.

Problem has been fixed by going into the BIOS and change the Mode of Port SATA to IDE/native/AHCI native. After that, the installation worked without any problems. Seems that Windows Setup did not like the port mode is set to RAID.

Just thought I would post back everybody incase has had the same problem.

  • Pavilion 4070 - us: new hard drive for the recovery disks do not work! Help!

Hi - the hard drive on my Pavilion 4070 - crashed us, so I bought a replacement - a Samsung SSD 850 EVO, 256GB drive.  The problem is that I can't seem to get the recovery disks to work, and neither Microsoft nor HP is willing to help me.  Of course, Microsoft tells me they don't give me any help for Windows7 OEM versions and HP said that my product is no longer supported so they do not help me.  This is ridiculous - I own a legal copy of Windows 7 and I can't get any help from the company who sold me the computer?

What happens when I go through the process of installation with the recovery discs, is that instead of the Windows installation continue as it is supposed to, I have "no boot device - insert boot disk and press any key any."  I'm desperate, I tried two different options - one was the minimum image recovery, the other was a factory restore.  Nothing seems to work. What can I do?   Moreover, the original hard drive is not * completely * dead - I can still access most of the data on it.

    Thank you wb2001,

A note aside before my supplementary question: Pavlov studies were on classical conditioning.  He used the meat powder in the dogs mouth to stimulate salivation canine combined with the sound of a Bell when the dogs became finally conditioned.  Once conditioned, the dogs would salivate upon hearing the Bell.  What you describe with the reward for behavior is the conditioning operating.  So what you want to say in the future be more precise, it's "I believe in right to Skinner" like B.F. Skinner.

Be-that-as-TI-may, stick to your reference to Pavlov for now wb2001, you're a good answer away from getting the meat powder.

    (1) I replace a HDD of 80 GB, 127 GB would be just peachy.

    (2) I know that XP is to be DX would be next year.  Being attached financial short term, I just need this machine to putter along until the end of this year.

  • bad hard drive for the m6-1105dx

    Hello

I recently acquired a desire m6-1105dx, that was wonderful, but there is one thing I am very furesterated with it is that the hard drive that he said would come with that, was 750 GB. Well, I have only 672 so I'm misssing 78 GB which is close enough to lack a set 100 gb I don't really find who either acceptable, I know that hard drives usually (or always) are not exactly the amount but I think lossing only storage type cheat me of what I paid for... I noticed only today when they told me my hard drive was full (for some reason, I never checked it once I received it guess I shouldn't just assume I get what I pay more) now I can't even support for this issue because my warranty is up... I feel a bit like it's FRAUD. Sorry I have no need to get out the word, but I feel really cheated I used laptop computers HP for 10-12 years now and never had no problem, I had probably 5 laptop computers HP although I never had no problem getting support from them then. I once spilled a drink on my keyboard. I called them to tell them and see if I could order a new but before I even had a chance to ask how the keyboard was etc etc... they offerened send me a new expedition and all FREE. HP PLEASE help me understand this point before I get really disappointed... and not to toot my own horn, but you don't want to see me I had thousands of clients and members of the family I know with certainty of the employee would be willing to boycott because of something as stupid as this. I swear it's like trying to break into fort knox, just trying to find a way to get help because my warranty is expired, they said I would have to pay for a support call... and gave me no option to use the chat or e-mail, so this is my last hope, post a message here... Thanks for your time everybody and I'm sorry if I offened anyone that I know, most of the people running things like that have very littl e access for comfortable people correcctly. Once again

    Hello

You can check the WHOLE hard drive? Your duty to account

    (a) recovery partition,

    (b) HP_TOOLs partition,

    (c) and inportantly 750 GB is NOT 750 GB, it's only 750,000,000,000 bytes. They use decimal and Windows uses the number of the HEXAGON.

For example, the following HDD RAW is an a HARD drive TB. You can yourself using the SPELL of training the number:

    Hello

I work in CS5.5 with 6 GB of ram under windows 7.   I really have no idea what causes this problem.

When I try to export a work area, no matter what the size of the file, either a 3gp 33 megabyte or a 700 meg h264, disappear 20 GB on my drive, it's just 20 gigabytes or more. completely disappear.  How could coding export take a lot of hard drive space, especially when the file is only 33 MB?

the timeline is 16 hours, but file work area I try to export is only 10 min 720 res, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I don't understand.

any help would be appreciated.   Thank you

The source sequence seems to be long (?) about 17 hours. There seems to be something weird going there. I would like to paste the section you are trying to export to a new sequence, then export. I saw a problem with forum before where a guy was trying to make a short section on a ridiculously long sequence and it worked for him. Isolate the section desired to a new sequence not lighten it.

  • I've just backed up with an external hard drive for the first time, but my profile with my folders for photos, documents, and movies are not there

    Hello

So, I finally got an external hard drive. I formatted for Mac (the device has been verified as being correct), and then he started to do a backup, which stated that a full backup would take 95GB. However, it only supported 19GB.  When I have my 'open' backup drive, I saw that only 'Macintosh HD' received support upward, not my user profile with all my folders containing documents, photos, movies, etc...

I'm quite confused, because I thought that it would save.  I plan on Snow Leopard update to El Capitan, but if something is wrong or I don't like, I'm afraid that I won't be able to restore all my personal files - but only the applications that are on my Macintosh HD.

Should I delete everything in my backup disk and try again?

This is an image of what's inside my external hard drive:

You have not indicated how you have saved, if you've used Time Machine then you do things the hard way and you'll find very difficult TM. Please use the Time Machine interface to locate your saved data. You can benefit from the research on:

The HARD drive may begin to malfunction because it s a part not reusable.
I'm not very well why the HARD drive starts to malfunction in these times early in any case the party m can be replaced very easily and usually you don t we had to send the laptop to the ASP.

Get in touch with an ASP and ask compatible HARD drive. If it s covered by the warranty, you should get so much for free, otherwise you will need to purchase these parts.

    Hello.

This 24 character of error codes when generated from the HARD drive test indicates a Smart failure or disk Self Test - in both cases, this means that the drive is defective and must be replaced.

You always have access to the data stored on the disk? If you do, then save as much information as possible and look for a replacement drive. If the product is still under warranty, you can contact support, but in case you have no guarantee and you would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself – please let me know.

I hope this helps and good luck!
