Refusal of access DEFRAGMENTION

When I run the defrag, I get a message that reads c:\WINDOWS\system\dfrg.msc that access is denied.  I have an administrator account.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Carla Eloisa.

First of all, you can try to temporarily disable the security software and check if it helps.

Note: Activate security software after the resolution of the problem.

For more information, you can consult the following link:

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

If the problem persists, then you can go to the following link and try the steps and check if that helps:

  • denied access to the c: drive and all the mistakenley of windows programs.i refused my access to the system to my c: drive

    Hello

This afternoon, I tried to install the home group. When I did, I got a message that windows could set up homegroup for this pc. (I'm not sure if this is relevant, but it's the last thing I did with windows before my problems started).
-At the moment when I try to go to c:\, I get an access denied message.
-When I go on c:\Users\Patrick then it shows my files and the directory.
-When I opened a word from this directory document, it works (so I have read access).
-I can't make a new folder in my home directory.
-When I start for the mmc instance get Windows cannot access... 0x800704b3 error code after diagnose I get an error that convenience store could not start error code 0 x 80070005. (it happens with all windows utilities.
-When I start safe mode it restarts after a few seconds (after he show users)
-When I try to activate the account administrator to the command prompt it says access denied.
-When I try to access the settings with the UAC, it does not.
-When I start a normal program (like VS2008) it starts up, when I do as an administrator I get the same error that when im from the mmc.

I have my PC from Vista

Homegroup only works for Win7, Win7. So I don't know what you were doing. Try a system restore to before that you did whatever it is that you did. You can start with your Vista DVD and access to restore the system from there. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

    Hello

    ·         Make sure you have this problem in safe mode.

    ·         Diagnose the drive in the search for errors

    ·         Make sure you have no virus

    Method 1:

I suggest to restore the system to the Windows recovery environment and check to see if it helps:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7

    Method 2:

Try to access the files in safe mode. You can click the link below to see how you can start in safe mode in Windows Vista.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 3:

Try to take permission of the drive in safe mode.

    (a) open your computer and right click on your hard drive.
    (b) go to Properties.
    (c) click Security.
    (d) click on Edit under a quote "To change permissions, click Edit."
    (e) click on Add.
    (f) typeeveryone"in the white box.
    (g) then check in the "total " box Control
    (h) press OK.

This makes the hard drive usable by everyone (all users and different computers)

  • Refusal of Access Monitor driver

I am installing a driver update for HP w1907 widescreen LCD on my Vista 64-bit system.  But get the message "access denied."  Chances are it has an of these darn questions "administrative rights", but I don't know the file name and Windows search does not find it.

Once you have installed the correct drivers for your graphics card, the monitor should be detected automatically, but if (in rare cases) is not, do a right click on the HP *.exe package and then select run as administrator.

I have windows 7 Home Edition premium, even if I use a wireless connection, there is no other computers or users on my 'network', but I can't access the group policy either, and task scheduler gives me a "failure date of reading" I the active administrator account and have executed theMS security scanner. Although I bought the new laptop a month ago, it has not come with a windows installation disc, I tried to run a repair disc, but that does not work and get an error when I try a system restore. • Why access is denied on file I own, with effective control and without encryption?

I have a number of files that I can not read because of what seems to be the refusal of access authorization.

This computer is part of a domain, but was removed from the field.  The files belonged to a domain account.

I use a local account in the local Administrators group.  The property of the files was changed to this local account.  Complete control of the local user was added to the security of the file.  All other entries of security have been removed.  The files are not compressed or encrypted.

The file on which I concentrate displays all the permissions granted on the effective permissions tab.  It does not at all an audit tab.  On the other hand, a new file in the same directory shows the audit tab and is readable.

This problem occurs on several, but not all the files whose ownership has been changed.

    What gives?

  • Cannot access the network - Get unspecified error 0 x 80004005

    Hi all

I have a strange problem that I hope someone can help me with.

I have a PC Windows Vista Ultimate, newly installed, all the patches applied. Any other installed apps don't except MS Office.

Not my problem, I have a NAS drive on my network and can be accessed by different machines on my network (IE. \\NAS)

However for some reason any my Vista machine has ceased to recognize this. Now I can only connect via an IP address (IE. ( \\192.168.0.2).

Whenever I have try type \\NAS he says "Windows cannot access \\NAS... etc etc" with a "unspecified error 0 error Code 80004005 x.

He used to work, but now it does which is very weird. When I click on diagnose says that it cannot find \\NAS. However, as this network drive has a web front end, when I type its IP address there is no problem at all and I can access it, but not through windows Explorer! I use a TP-Link wireless adapter. I have a LAN connector normal that I disabled and enabled with no effect (although I have not physically connected them)

I can navigate to Windwos Vista machine to it seems to work very well.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

    Neal.

If the regular way, you connect a reader could not be used and that you were forced to connect by ip, get error 80004005 would make sense, because it means that the rights or false refused/insufficient access permissions. Your network can have a parameter saying denied access by ip address, so either you might find this setting, or find a way to solve the original problem, making it impossible to connect as normal to you.

I would check the firewalls, because your firewall or the firewall of the NAS could have been changed to not connect to the NAS or do not allow you to connect, respectively.

  • Allow a URL by limiting access?

I want to allow internet access for the hour of lunch for a group of computers. I assigned the INVESTIGATION period and set up two access restrictions on REFUSE for the morning and afternoon. Is there a way to allow these computers to access a URL (www.gmail.com) throughout the day?

Is there a link where these access restrictions have been explained a bit more in depth what is available in the help WRT610N screen?

    Thank you.

I'm afraid that you cannot allow these computers to access a URL (www.gmail.com) throughout the day if you refused them access to the Internet for the morning and afternoon...

  • Shared "Top N" gets access denied - the custom user interface

I shared some dashboards for a standard user to vCops the custom user interface, and the "Top N" widgets do not work.

So far, everything has been fine.

I shared a dashboard home, as well as a vCops of the box and a pak of SAP management dashboard.

All widgets 'Top N' display 'access denied to the requested page.

Other parts of the same work of dashboard (home).

    Any thoughts?

There is a permission that you add to the group to which you share the dashboard. There are permissions to a 'Top - N analysis' you must give to this group. In the contrary case, the refusal of access will appear when users in this group are attempting to access the dashboard in question.

If someone knows a solution for this problem, I would be very happy.

PS I don't want to upgrade to El Capitan due to many negative reviews and I use this machine to work so don't want to take the risk of problems with the new OS.
