Regardless of the update of windows and the drivers, I can't create a new folder anywhere.

I have windows 7 and a LG monitor. For some reason, I can't right click and create a new folder. All other functions of the file seem to work.

Hello Wesley,

I don't know why you mentioned your monitor, is there something related to your question of record?

In any case, to create a new folder in the Solution Explorer, you right-click on the folder parent (or drive) and select 'create a new folder '. Are you saying that its lack of right click menu? If Yes, most probably the cause is in the configuration of the Explorer.

To access, click on the word "Conduct" in the Solution Explorer's main window and in the menu that opens, select "folder and search options. That opens a window, from the tabs along the top of the page, select "View". Which in turn opens a window with several check boxes, make sure that the default settings are checked (there is a button at the bottom of the window to do) and try again.

Let me know how you fare.

Kind regards

  • Why I can not create a new folder in Windows Contacts and rename it?

I keep my contacts in Windows Contacts, divided into folders named category.  In the past, I was able to press the button "New folder" to create a new folder, and then rename the folder.  Now, I can create a new folder, but Windows doesn't allow me the no - name.  As soon as I type the name of the new folder and press ENTER, it goes back on behalf of the "new folder". If possible, although I honestly don't see how the shortcut should influence.  Try this, just delete your shortcut, then take the icon on the left side of the address bar of the 'work' contacts folder and drag your desktop and drop it.  This example is part of a control panel, but it works the same:

  • Re: Windows 7 won't allow me to create a new folder

Windows does not create a new folder.
Right click offers many options, including "create new portfolio" but not a new folder. By clicking on the record button create does nothing.

This is something new, but I can't think of anything that I did recently to make it. It sounds like a permissions problem, but I can't find a solution.

Have you checked the folder permissions create? Pull up the properties of the parent folder and select the Security tab and click the Advanced button. Double-click the user, and you will see permissions of created files.

Your problem is probably not a result of having a limited user account.

Try to create a new folder, an indication of the exact time that you do. Then, look in the event viewer and see if you can see the report in the system / application log registration issue. Thanks for posting a copy of therep [ort in your next message.

To access the system log, select Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, Event Viewer, in the list on the left of the window select Windows and the system logs.

Place the cursor on the system, right click and select filter current log. Check the front of the error and click OK and see you only reports errors. Click header to sort on the Date and time. You may need to click a second time to see the last report above.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run the event and double observer

    Hello

There seems to be a problem with the creation of records.

Perform the steps from the link below and see if it helps.

Important: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

  • why I can't add a new folder under windows 7 windows explorer, but I cannot add a new compressed folder?

When I right click and select 'New' there is no option to select a new folder, just a new compressed folder. It is in the Windows7 windows Explorer. So I can't create a new folder.

You have installed chrome? It's looking like a recent update of chromium may be the cause. Here are two patches.

I've just updated to the new Firefox, and now when I try to create a new folder of bookmarks, the option is gone (I see all of my folders of old, but the "New folder" option, which was on the bottom of the dropdown menu, disappeared. Or I see it anywhere else.

I was able to create folders and subfolders in my library. Now, I can't create a new folder.

    Hello

You have discovered a problem with Windows 7. To resolve this problem, I recommend a program called FileMenu Tools. You can download the portable freeware from here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/System/System-Enhancements/FileMenu-Tools-Portable.shtml .

After having downloaded and installed the program, you will notice that, by default, each option is checked. I would be much more selective on this subject, otherwise your context menu will be a full page long! When the main window opens, you will see a list on the right side of all the elements that can be added to the context menu. Start weeding through the list and every one to take away, you don't need the United Nationsby checking the box.

Once you have completed your selection (de-selections) make sure that you click the green check mark in the row of icons at the top of the left window of the interface to 'Apply' of your choice. The program can do much more, but that answers your specific question. I am told that the program has a good help file, so try here if you are interested.

Let me know how you fare.
