  Hello, recently I got a rug * a dvd - ram UJ - 831 s Reader installed to replace by my insurance policy in my Toshiba Satellite s2410-504. The car worked well until recently, when I get the IDE #1 error at startup, then the drive does not appear in Windows - Win Explorer or Device Manager. I tried to update the firmware for the recommended: DVD + r / + RW/RAM Drive(UJ-831) F / W revision: V102. But I got the message that the drive is not connected when I am asked to open it.   Hmm, it would be very interesting to know if this message appears.

  For most of these messages are displayed if the drive is not connected OR the firmware was bad. I think that it s because of the second possibility.

  Maybe the firmware has changed the master/slave/c-salt settings and now the BIOS does not recognize the disc correctly.

  Well, I checked the manual the user and on the first pages you can find a few displayed records, they are compatible with the laptop:

  TOSHIBA SD-R2212
  Matsu * a UJDA740 *.
  TEAC DW-224TH *.
  (*: any letters or numbers)

  So if you are looking for a player with Google you should find a few online shops or you contact an authorized service provider to get a new drive.

• Satellite 2410-s205 does not supply power to the top

  Hello everyone, I have a Toshiba Satellite 2410-s205 and it has installed windows xp home. It started to freeze and go slowly. Then I ran adaware and clean it. I installed spybot s & d and after update adware programs I tried to restart the computer and it froze. I shut it down using the power button, but now it does not restart.

  When you press the power button, there is no fan activity, only on dvd rom light and goes back to the wide. Does anyone have an idea on what I can verify. Memory, Cpu, etc or what could be the problem.

  The battery has a full charge, more I plugged it. The led does not illuminate when you press the power button.

  As far as I know this laptop supports only 20 GB; 30 GB; 40 GB and 60 GB hard drives
  I guess that a 100 GB HARD drive will not be recognized by the BIOS.
