Reinstall Acer Crystal Eye Webcam

The hard drive on my 5742z have completely failed. I couldn't recover using the recovery discs because they could not access the hard disk. Finally, my only recourse was to buy an OEM version of windows 7 Home premium, to remove the old drive of garbage and install a new samsung 256Go SSB 840Pro. Everything works fine with the new clean install except the dedicated keys on the keyboard do not work (example: Fn - F3 that allows WiFi). I guess that's because none of the original acer software is present. Is there a way I can always activate the dedicated keys? Would it not be possible to use the original for recovery disks do without delousing of my new installation of windows 7?

I understood the foregoing as a backdrop for my new problem.

I need to reinstall the crystal eye webcam on the laptop above. It's in my device showing Manager as working normally, however, it does not appear in my control panel being installed and that is why, I can't access it. Can some kind soul help me with that? I was very pleased and grateful for the quick help to solve my problem of WiFi more early.

Hi baldbarn

The recovery disks need not drive to install. They are a complete full installation of Windows for your particular laptop that contains all good drivers & applications.

However, as you have already installed Windows 7 on your machine, go to Acer support for your region and click «Drivers & manuals» Then, select your model and operating system. All the drivers and Applications are there for you to download - just click on the tabs 'Pilot' and 'Applications '.

I hope this helps!

  • With the help of Acer Crystal Eye Webcam

The Skype and Acer Crystal Eye work correctly on my Aspire 7.  However, how can I use them together.  In other words, how do I answer a call Skype on Acer Crystal eye?

Skype and the Acer Crystal Eye programs are two pieces of software that works together.

A Skype call should be answered by Skype or a program that uses the Skype APIs.

Acer Crystal Eye will not be able to assume this function.

  • A problem with Acer Crystal Eye Webcam

Why I can't open acer crystal webcam on my laptop? He tried every time, it says "camera not found". What does that mean? Please help me solve this problem.

p.s. I know that my laptop has a webcam.

Have you made sure the driver is installed for him? Right-click computer, click Properties, and then click Device Manager (point menu at the top left). Y at - it all devices with an exclamation mark next to them? If so, go to the Acer site and download a driver for the webcam.

If you don't see question marks next to devices in Device Manager, and you don't find that the Webcam listed anywhere (mine is listed under imaging devices), then maybe the webcam has not been activated. Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the exact procedure to activate it on an Acer laptop. You might want to try the support on the Acer website forum.
