Reinstall the hp hardware diagnostic tool

I don't know what happened to my HP hardware diagnostic tool. I used it once when I got this computer and sometimes since 2010. It happens in the start menu, but do not work. How can I reinstall it?

Thank you, Ken

Hi Ken,

This tool is a tool of Hewlett-Packard. Get you from HP.com. Its updated regularly, then you are better off to go to get the latest version anyway. Just enter your HP product drivers of the help section, and then select your operating system and get the download of the resulting list.

If you have any specific questions, post it here and I will help you. Let me know how you fare.

Kind regards

    Hello Atelier42, this usually indicates that you have a hard disk failure.

    I would like to back up my data as soon as possible, just in case the hard drive breaks down actually.

    You must also make sure that you have the HP Recovery restore set for your system recovery disc in case you do not want to replace the hard drive.

    With this restore HP Recovery disk set, you could replace a defective hard drive and use this disk set to your HP system back as it was when shipped. Then, you could put your data saved on your system.

  • What is 5.1.4861.15 hardware diagnostic tools

    What is 5.1.4861.15 hardware diagnostic tools

    Hi Floyd,

    If I am right, it is actually PC-doctor, Inc. Hardware Diagnostic tool which is distributed by some computer program of PC Doctor OEM manufacturers.  The number seems to be a somewhat older version (possibly published with XP systems).  They still do and I have versions for XP, Vista and even Windows 7. If you have upgraded your operating system, the program may or may not work more.  It doesn't seem to be something that you can buy directly (and I don't think that it can be upgraded) - but your computer manufacturer might be able to say more about it.

    Here is the current information on Program OEM's PC Doctor: http://www.pc-doctor.com/pcd_windows.php.  I know that HP and Compaq and Acer and Fujitsu used and can still - and I saw obsolete links and now gone listed this specific version of the program on their systems - but none of their websites discuss the version even if some do not discuss the existence of a program of diagnostics of equipment and how to use it.  Here is an example: If the computer is running XP so that it looks like this (unfortunately not a download link, just info): tests for hardware problems using PC-Doctor - HP Customer Care (United States - English).

    I don't think that it is malware - if I'm wrong.  If your manufacturer says that it was never installed on your computer, so I guess it's possible, but I found only about above it and no mention of all malware related.  In any case, if it was never installed on the system by the manufacturer, then I would probably not use it and may even consider uninstalling just to be on the safe side.  If it has been installed by the manufacturer, try running it to see if it provides you with hardware diagnostic information.  If it crashes or fails to run if you have an operating system upgraded from the original installed OS, then it is probably not compatible and I would just uninstall it as it will be of no use and cannot be upgraded (unless the manufacturer provides one, but it is unlikely) and is just too much room.

    Yet, it can't hurt to run some checks for malicious programs.  Update and run a scan complete with your current AV program.  Then, try the following programs if you do not, because they can help. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx.  If they are all come clean and do not show this as a problem, then I would say it is more likely is not malware and don't worry in this regard.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Pavilion p6537: 6.0.5418.39 Hardware Diagnostic tools

    After the upgrade to Windows 10, my monthly hardware diagnostic tool did not work. Received a device discovery error suggesting I restart the program or restart my computer. I performed two operations and diagnostic tool still does not work.  Would that be the upgrade of Windows 10 or just a corrupted file?  Never had a problem with this tool before.

    Hello

    Are you referring to the HP Support Assistant?  If so, uninstall the old version via the Control Panel - program and features, and then install the New HP Support Assistant.

    I tried to install an update that was supposed to include most of the tools, but since I did a clean install, it says that my system did not meet the requirements and that it refused to install.

    Is it possible that I can install the Diagnostic tools?

  • Hardware diagnostic tool

    I have a HP Pavilion G7-1329wm running windows 7. I does not seem that hardware diagnostic tool program.  He seems to be spent on other portable HP like mine, and so I was wondering if there is a place I can download it? I used a link (sp4437.exe) I found on the forum, but after installing it, it says 'this version of diagnostic tools is not approved to run on this system. Y at - it an older version that I need?

    Thank you in advance!

    Your computer uses a Diagnostics UEFI support environment to test the material for questions. Please see HP computers - UEFI and the Start Menu for instructions on using the features of Diagnostics UEFI. Hit "F2" or "ESC" then "F2" at startup should show the UEFI Diagnostics page.

    Download and install the environment of Support HP Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) for a version update of the UEFI Diagnostics.

    Run Memtest86 +: your computer passes this test?

    Memtest86 + is running from a floppy or CD and should eliminate or confirm if your one or more of your sticks of memory are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.

    Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), if no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

  • Closed during the operation "memory diagnostic tool"

    Using WINDOWS Vista HOME PREMIUM.

    When I run the 'memory diagnostic tool' the computer stops half way through the process.

    He stops at a different % of how the process every time.

    It also stops when I make a video file.

    The rest of the time it works OK.

    Can you suggest a reason or solution for this?

    Maybe it's overheating when you perform CPU intensive tasks. Check the dust accumulated around fans and heat sinks. A can of compressed gas can be used to remove items.

  • surface scan test 2 in the hardware diagnostic tool indicates an error code: hd535-2w. What should I do?

    I have a desktop HP Pavilion a6702f.  Operating system 64-bit Windows 7.  Following the analysis of material Diagnostics, I have an error.  During the review of the test surface 2, the test failed and showed error code hd535-2w.  What do this mean and what do I do about it?

    Hello

    This error would tend to indicate that the hard disk is running out.  First thing we do is to backup all your personall files as soon as you can.

    Once completed, the only solution is to replace the drive.  If you need a guide on this, please let me know.

  • Download and use of Hardware Diagnostic tool (HDU)

    Here is a great video that shows how to download and use the HDU. The video will show how to access the site where the tool is located, how to download and then shows what the tool looks like when used to access hardware problems. The HDU is used to treat problems as paper jams, quality printing, flashing lights and other issues are hardware related.

    I hope the community finds it useful.

  • Workflow for the upgrade hardware and tools with vShield.

    Hello

    I start with the vCO and JavaScript!

    I start in the workflow that Cody Bunch created at this url and made a few changes to add vShield drivers to update tools and upgrading VMware Hardware (compatibility).

    WithoutDecision.JPG

    When I hit a virtual machine with the hardware to the latest version of the accident of workflow. So, I wanted to add a decision point before the Hardware Upgrade VM Workflow.

    WithDecision.JPG

    If the virtual machine incorporates the latest Version of hardware I want to skip the hardware upgrade VM version. I want to write a simple script that look like this:

    If (VMHardware version is updated) {}

    Returns false;

    }

    else {}

    Returns true;

    }

    I'm looking in the IPY research in vCO to find the good of the hardware Version and I can't! Can someone help me with this? Where can I find it?

    I know that I can do this with the Update Manager, but I want to use vCO to practice and integrate this type of workflow in vCAC!

    Thanks for all your help!

    VM.config.version - where vm is a VC:VirtualMachine object... results will be something like 10 - vmx, vmx-09, etc... You can then base your logic on these results.

    Here is your manual:

    http://support.Dell.com/support/eDOCS/systems/dim2400/en/F75560LRs.PDF

    Search on p. 43 of the instructions on how to restore your PC to its original state if need arise. Obviously, make sure that all your data is backed up first!

    Everyone works on your PC? If so, this could explain your situation. (I assume that malware could do it, but if so, he is first heard of).

    FWIW, Dells typically use what is called a "Golden Master" key. This key does not match what is on your COA sticker. In general, this key must be used in rare cases, you use a generic XP OEM installation CD. The Golden Master key for the Dell Windows XP OEM branded version begins with XJM6Q (you can Google it). Maybe that's the key that you need if you are using a program like this change key:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/genuine/product-key

    (Click the Windows XP tab!)

    Which may or may not work according to what is really on your PC (and who knows, maybe even than the product key on your COA sticker may work after all, but I have my doubts). If you have a version of Windows XP VLK currently installed on your PC (as opposed to the royalty of Dell OEM version), I guess you may have to start from scratch. If all goes well, the restore hidden on your hard drive partition is still intact.

    Hello weeziestoy, this indicates generally the hard drive is a failure. I suggest to backup your important data and consider replacing the disk hard as soon as possible.

    You need to make sure that the restore HP Recovery disc is set to use to restore the software after the hard drive is replaced.

    If you do not have these or can not create them, you can buy these HP if they keep these available.
