  • reinstalling the system on a new hard drive

Looks like a common problem that the original HDD Samsung die a premature death. I started to receive warnings of 301 SMART several months ago, but my HP dv6 kept operating normally until this week. Now it does not start, then it's time for a new HARD disk. I thought I was fully prepared, as I had spared him all my work on an external drive, had a new beautiful drive HARD fast to install and had my hand recovery disks. After you run the recovery discs, I'm stuck. New HARD drive does not start, and I can't do what whether the HP Recovery console offers me on its menu. Windows recovery is also stuck as there is no previous image recorded on this new album.

Looking at the new HARD drive, I see that the HP recovery disks were formatted only 60 GB, sort of a mini recovery partition and nothing else. When I try to restore the image, him refuses to HP recovery with the message Console, this drive is smaller than the original.

Can someone tell me how to work around this problem with recovery disks, or how I might just do a clean install of Windows 7 without having to buy a new installation disk purely and simply? HP does not provide a Windows disk with this computer.

    Hello

Recovery discs often have problems reinstalling the operating system if the new HARD drive is lower than installed when they were initially created.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the activation code on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery process, it is a job before right around if you have (or can borrow) a Windows 7 retail installation disc is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE if your laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, it comes to version exact commercial that you would need.

If you don't have access to a retail disk, you can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

Additional drivers, you may need to find from here.

  • loss of signal wireless/network after reinstalling the system

I have a Pavilion g7-1070us laptop who couldn't start. I reinstalled the OS Win7 by downloading the ISO file and activated by the method of the phone.

The problem is that even after you install the network driver concerned Intel (sp57090.exe) on the site of HP driver support, I even canoe see a connection or a wireless signal.

A caveat is that, once I installed this driver from nextworking, a message pops up saying "this program cannot been installed properly" and gives you two options: 1) reinstall using recommended settings. (2) keep as is (this program has been installed properly). I chose option 1 and reinstall it was fairly smooth and no other error arises.

When I tried to troubleshoot and set up a new connection to the internet, the following error message appeared:

"Windows doesn't detect any hardware networking". I ran diagnostics disk before so he spent without any problem. It's very confusing.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Satellite Pro U300 - how to reinstall the system from original Vista operating?

My Satellite U300 (bought in 2008) came with Vista and a fallback to option of XP pre-installed. I drove back to XP at the time. Now, end of support from Microsoft for XP, I would like to re - install the Vista operating system.
I have the recovery disks, but there is a wizard to help the resettlement?

Or is there a function to restore to original factory setting, which I guess would be Vista? (I backed up all my files where a clean install is required). Any help appreciated, thanks.

I checked the specifications of the laptop and this laptop model was offered with Vista preinstalled and DVD recovery Windows XP Home edition. In General original recovery image can be installed with the recovery disk. You got laptop with Vista pre-installed (without the Vista recovery disk) allowing you to create the Vista recovery disk using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

There is also the option of HARD drive recovery, but it works with the factory only settings. After installing WXP that this HARD drive option will not work more then now you Vista recovery DVDs. Unfortunately in your ad I didn't understand whether or not you have the Vista recovery disk.

If so, just start your laptop and press F12. When the boot menu appears put Vista recovery disc into the optical disc drive, has chosen the CD/DVD on the list in the menu and press ENTER. ODD will start to read the recovery disc and all what you need to do is follow the menu on the screen.

  • Hard drive crashed, impossible to reinstall the system.

My hard drive crashed and I was advised to buy a new. I did, but I can't reload my drivers. My guy tech at work gave me a Vista disc to install and we went online and donwloaded the drivers for my computer. Vista will start to install, and then will ask for the drivers. I put the disc in, and he says that is not a bootable floppy. The tech guy does not know why it does not work. Can anyone help?

We do not know which drive your 'tech' guy gave you.

    I recommend the following:

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

I reinstalled the system on my laptop and now the Fn keys do not work. How do adjust me them? And yet... How to disconnect the touchpad?

    Hello

It seems that what he is an American unit and was designed specially for the American market.

But have you used the Toshiba Recovery CD?
If this isn't the case, then you must install all the drivers Toshiba and utilities in the correct order.
    Chipset utility
    common modules
    graphic driver
    etc.

The FN keys supports different function. To use these options, you will need several drivers. For example, use the FN + F5 (the display switching), to the Toshiba Hotkey Utility to display the devices & Toshiba display device change Utility and toggle the Touchpad to install Toshiba Touchpad enable/disable utility

As you can see it good drivers are needed. Please visit the Toshiba us and download the right driver for this laptop

  • Satellite L450D - 13 X does not start the system - PXE - E61: Media test failure

    Hello

I turned on my laptop after only a day and it will not load

I chose startup repair, but it does not complete the repair.
It now comes with a repetitive screen with PXE - E63: media test failure, check cable of
PXE - MOF: exit ROM PXE

I tried Googling the answer and go into the BIOS menu and to the section boot but I can't seem to change anything at work.

There are, and exclamation mark in front of what I think is my hard drive on the screen

    ! HDD1/SSD1 TOSHIBA MK2555GSX-(S2)
    CD/DVD HL - DT - ST DVDRAM GT20N-(S4)
    FLOPPY DRIVE
    LAN

I have nothing in the disk drive and I don't have a recovery disk.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanx

    Leon

    Hello

For me, it looks like a malfunction of the HARD drive and so the BIOS can not find a bootable device and goes to the last possible bootable option which is LAN.

The exclamation mark in front of the HARD drive indicates that there is a problem with the HARD drive so I think you need to replace the HARD drive and you need to reinstall the system.

PS: What laptop do you have exactly?

  • Satellite Pro L10 will not start the system

    Hello!

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro L10, which won't work for some reason any.

The last time that I used it, it worked perfectly fine, but now all I get is a black filtered message on "windows starts do not successfully»

It indicates that the computer is not responding and asked me to choose one of the five options - safe mode, safe mode with network, security mode command, last known configuration, prompt or start windows normally.

There is also a 30 second countdown if I do nothing the portable samekh automatically.
It is, none of these things work.

Everything that happens with any option is to a thought very much time on things, then it goes to a black screen with a time/processing bar downstairs, then when that ends it turns itself off, samekh, mw windows page shows (with f2 and f4/f10? options) and the process is repeated.

He did about 50 times now and still nothing.
I tried the command ctrl/alt/del, I tried to turn if off and try again, I even opened the f options but I don't know enough about computers to do more.

    Help, please!

If possible I would like to get the computer on long enough to verify what documents I have on this subject before I can back up (if necessary) and restore it to the factory settings (as I predicted), or if this is not possible, I do not think that there is a lot to lose in this respect in any case, am prepared to take it all back to factory if necessary. I have all necessary installation CD and manuals to go with.

hope this makes sense and I gave you all you need to know.

    Thanks, B

It seems that the laptop is not able to boot the system, but I m not quite sure if it s because of the defective system or HARD drive corruption.
If it s just a system problem, the installation of the new Windows operating system should help you to get it resolved.

In case the HARD disk is defective, you need to replace the HARD drive and reinstall the system.

  • Deterioration of the system after 3 days

Hey guys, I got this annoying problem with el capitan in my macbook pro 15 "2010, i5, ssd, fresh installation; He did all the updates and a few days ago I started having this problem of cycling: after 3 days of availability, with all works ok, regardless of the application you were using, some parts of the system are starting to freeze, so you could not open the FILE dialog box (which is part of the operating system independent of the application to use)... simple as that. even a browser such as firefox, the browser itself continues to work but if you try to save a page it frozes. When it happened he couldn't also use text editor, facetime, imessage... He keept Flash but never started. I tried with a lot of apps and it's the same thing. In this case, the only thing that worked for me was to restart OSX, which is not acceptable to me, because we cannot very often, it is not acceptable for a unix OS. The strange is that some system applications, such as finder, continues to work, but others, as cited previously, not more.

I checked the RAM with MEMTEST and Apple hardware test modules, but there is no error; I thought that perhaps this problem could be the cause of errors in file system, when, at the time that the system needed to extract information from this dialog box (save, file...), in some sort could not read or access it from the file system; What do you think of this theory? My ssd is new and I've checked the permissions and the fact that I can to check its integrity, but I'm on el capitan, which seems to be a software utility disk with more limitations than the versions previous...

In any case, I first run disk utility, reboot into recovery and frst help provided by the normal system; It gave me the error code 8 and fixed; but I started in recovery mode and ran again, and he has new found problems and that fixed it. but Frost guard happenning every 3 days, sort of; When I restart, everything supports to normal...

A coleague told me I have to reinstall the system and restore everything by hand, do not use the backups time machine; I don't want to do that, but if needed I will; But first of all, I would like to know from you.

Take the advice of your friend.
