  It's not really a taken way in charge to remove only the cancelled or failed updates. These are taken from windows logs and displayed in the history. Steps that Jose post is a way to remove all files in history and will remove all updates as well as a failed/cancelled updates successfully.

  How is your memory configured? that is, what is 2 x 1 GB modules or module 1 x 2 GB. If the former I would check the physical installation of the modules on the MB memory.

  Vista 32 bit should see up to 3 GB, I doubt that it is Vista the cause.

  Another thought, are your shared graphics? in some BIOS, it is possible to ask the system to use a fixed amount of RAM the GUI system, this memory will not be included in the complete system.

  Several problems.  I know that I have too many services running that shouldn't be and need to put them back where they should be. In other words please. Auto, delayauto, etc manually.

  My pc has little memory left. I can't save anything as it says that I have installed more. That says it's a problem of the file configuration. It wont let me save the files, and I need to backup my pc before making a return to the factory. That I really don't want to do. My program disks were taken.

  I know that my services settings are wrong.

  I can not also disconnect my mass storage, it says a program to use it and I have to wait. D - COM is the only thing that is using it, and this isn't something that I can't stop, no option for.

  D: drive / Partition is usually your recovery Partition.

  Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.

• Malicious software removal tool update problems the last few months. Suspended for a very long time. Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP2

  The last 3 months when the download and installation of my updates for Windows Vista, it gets stuck for hours on the malicious software removal tool. I have to cancel it. I take good care of my computers with a little help from my friend IT. They have the same programs as this one and I do the same things to them, but they do not have this same problem with the release of the MSRT tool. Which leads me to think that it is specific to Vista only, I have a Windows 7 computer yet, so I can't speak for seven.

  I'm having trouble printing large format HP DeskJet 1000 c, which is connected via a parallel cable to my Media Center/DVR PC running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit SP2 on my printer. I connected with the success of this printer to two different computers, a desktop PC running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit SP2 and a laptop Mac OS x 10.5.8. I can print from the local computer very well, but when I try and use the printer on the network, one of two things happens depending on what machine I try and print from:

  1. from Vista 64 Desktop: printing the task appears, treats and disappears from the queue to the local printing on PC DVR. Printer advance a sheet of paper as if he were about to print, then waits with a power indicator light flashes. If you send a new job network, the tip sheet of paper is ejected and the process begins again. If you send a new job locally, the tip sheet of paper is ejected and the local job will print normally.

  You can also use this method.

  You do not have a Vista disc that came with the computer to reinstall with, you should have a recovery Partition to do.

  Here is the HP Compaq information on how to use the recovery partition to put your computer in a new State.

  You press F11 at startup or through their Recovery Manager.

• I need to know the file current date/time number stamp and the version of "spoolsv.exe" in Vista Home Premium 32-bit with SP2.

My spooler file got corrupted and I need to know what that the stamp of date/time on the latest version of the file: spoolsv.exe. I did a search on my hard drive and found 8 copies of the file with 7 different dates. I need to know which copy in my file C:\windows\system32\. I suspect that the problem was caused by some kind of malware. I think that some of the different versions on my machine of the initial installation of the Vista, SP1 and SP2. 3 copies that would explain. I tried all the suggestions in this forum and several others. I tried sfc/scannow and it simply replaces the corrupted file by another. I understand how works this file and a simple copy will do the trick if I knew that the file to use. I know that I don't want to go back to the first version of 2006.  BTW... my symptoms are all my printers have disappeared, and when I try to 'add a new printer' I get an error message saying that my spooler service does not work. When I opened my services window it shows that indeed, he is arrested, but I will not start because the description column contains only the code garbled machine indicating that the file is corrupted, or it may contain a virus. I had been using F-Prot until this virus got by and now I use AVG. I scanned my machine with several cleaning packages and it is is more infected, but I worry that from this corrupt file grow something.   It has the configuration of the hard drive dual option factory. I have removed the C: plant and it will save way later. I then moved
  the 2nd hard drive to the place where the used to be C:. Set startup to boot from the dvd drive for a cool XP with sp2 install.
  This laptop keeps me to install Windows XP, XP sp2, XP with sp3, XP even with Vista Theme.
  I have the factory supplied Vista Home Premium 64-bit dvd disc, and Yes, this will install flawlessly from start to finish
  without ANY problem at all. Hard drives are sata2. I tried to install XP with versions with special sata drivers
  included in the installation cd. No go. Even made several versions of XP sp2 with "simplified" in sata drivers
  the installation cd. Same thing. No go. (no go = blue screen of death)

  Look at the product key shown on the label on the computer.  Which edition of Windows is on the label?  If the label says Home Premium Home Premium dvd is likely a recovery disk only.  So if there is a recovery disk, so it can reinstall a new copy of Home Premium and all reset the status of the plant.  You will lose your programs and data.

  If the Premium family edition dvd is a dvd retail then you may be able to do a repair on-site modernization (aka ' install fix') of Vista Ultimate with it, but please answer these questions first.

  On a HP Pavilion Media Center m8226x desktop PC is running OEM Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit) version.  Replacing motherboard ASUS M2N68 - motherboard HP Narra2-GL8E 6150SE with a card mother MCP61PM-HM (Nettle2) due to the failure.  The two boards have same chipset and form factor.  Can I just replace the Board of Directors without having to reinstall windows?  Do I need to install new drivers?  I do not have a CD installation or installation key, Microsoft would provide a key if necessary?  Is there a link I can reference for replacement MB / install?

  OEM license is linked to the original version of the motherboard, it is M2N68 - LA. You lose OEM 'rights' when you have changed the Council.

  I am not able to download and install Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit windows update.  This Gateway laptop has always been able to quickly and easily install the update by clicking windows update.  However, since the introduction of Windows 10 it has been a lot of your time trying to install updates.  I had this same problem with Windows 7 too.  Never before there was no problem for the two operating systems.  Installation of Windows updates has always been easy and fast without any problem.  Running the troubleshooting isn't good and hunting error codes has been unproductive.  What the hell is happening?

  'Check for updates...' crashes and slow Windows updates currently affect the SP2 for Vista and Win 7 SP1 users, and I doubt it's a coincidence that Microsoft has ended mainstream support and only provides support for these two operating systems.  The evidence points more to a problem with the Windows Update Agent (WUA Vista, C:\Windows\system32\wuaueng.dll v7.6.7600.256 has not been updated since June 2012) and the problem tends to be more prevalent on computers with slower processors and a limited amount of RAM.
