    Dear Sirs,

My computer dell laptop is running win7 Home premium.  I installed it a few years after purchasing a win 7 dvd.  I think reinstalling the same win 7 Home premium on the same laptop (no change in the hardware of the laptop), just to speed up my laptop and delete all unnecessary files accumulated over the years.  My question is, does the product key is necessary to put in during the re installation process or not. In other words, I have to re validate windows after installation. Of course, I have to do a custom or fees installed, so that all the old files have disappeared.

  • Satellite L670-1EE - reinstallation of Win 7 - key not readable series

    Hello

    I bought a Toshiba Satellite L670-1EE January 2011
Now the system completely crashed and I need to reinstall from scratch.

My problem is, that the first 5 digits of the product key Microsoft are not readable.

Are there opportunities to get the key, or can I use a special image of Toshiba to retrieve?

I can't access the installed windows, fails to start, I tried a recovery with a DVD of victory but it didn't work, so I need to reinstall it.

    > My problem is, that the first 5 digits of the product key Microsoft are not readable.
This key cannot be used as part of the new Windows 7
It is an OEM key that belongs to the image of Toshiba. For the most part, these keys don't work.

The point is that Toshiba preinstalled system has already been activated in the image of the Toshiba.
But there is no need to be activated after the recovery procedure.

So if you want to use the own system of Windows, you must purchase a license from Microsoft.
In case you want to use the image of Toshiba, you must use the Toshiba Recovery disk that probably, you have not created in the past. Right?

In this case, there is another option: you can order this disc from here:

This might be easier. Can you install the realtek ethernet driver to connect to the internet by ethernet? You can download the HP Support Assistant, and simply choose and download the necessary drivers for you.

If we can we must look at the Device Manager, choose any device with an exclamation mark. Right-click on it, select properties/details/then drop-down menu and get the hardware ID. With the hardware for each item id we can understand what it is and to match the right Driver.

    Hello

I recently had to reinstall Windows 8 and since then my wireless keeps dropping out.
Sometimes, he remains connected for a few hours, sometimes minutes.

My speed has also dropped considerably.
My internet works perfectly well on other devices in the House so I know that it is a problem of laptop.

In any case, the little light on the laptop wireless displays in orange.
I tried to turn wi - fi and turn it on again with no luck.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have download the drivers on the toshiba site and still no luck.

    > I recently had to reinstall Windows 8 and since then my wireless keeps dropping out.

and I guess you have no. WLan performance issues prior to reinstallation of Win 8.
    Is this correct?

The whole issue is probably related to some parameters.
I recommend you to check the following settings.

In the device-> card Manager WLan-> properties-> tab power management
Here, you must deselect the option to disable the device (Wlan) in the case of saving power.

In addition, you should check the WLan energy saving setting
Control Panel-> power-> plan management power-> for advanced power settings-> wireless adapter settings. The parameter must be set to the Performance

  • Win XP Media Center Edition - (version 5.1) SP3 is altered in the Dimension E310

Huge problem. Many WIndows the missing files. Most of the functions/programs operate no or launch. System restore not working etc etc. I don't have the original OS installation disc, if any. But a couple of years Dell sold me a reinstallation DVD Win XP Media 2005 Version with Update Rollup 2. The drive says "already installed on your computer. I ordered thinking it would fix some problems with files at the time, but it never worked - saying that this is not the same version of XP on your PC. So I gave up - until today. I tried the DVD today and it seems that it might be able to install a complete (but older) edition of win xp on my machine. If I succeed at will I lose all my existing programs, documents etc. Thanks in advance...

The disc is the same as the original drive that would have supplied with your system.

The XP Media Centre edition DVD contains no Service Pack 3 as the media library, components of the Installer do not work if SP3 is slipstreamed.

Probably, you will get the error that your installation of XP is newer than the installation disc, if you try to use the installation disc fix.

You are the best to clean install (you will lose all the programs and files) and then install the stand-alone version of Service Pack 3 after Windows is installed.

  • I recently reinstalled Win 7 Ultimate

after reinstallation of win 7, I can't leave the previous home group, that option is NOT on the screen.

This relocation was necessitated when I caught a virus and when I finally managed to put in things for... networking options etc, etc, etc.  I was tired and having problems with my MS so I wasn't thinking clearly.

I don't know how to configure things, however, I must first leave the group home that my computer is on the network.

The instructions on your site down can't work because the home group leave is NOT an option anywhere.  I gives me the possibility to joing a home group, no leave.

I don't know how much information should I send to goes here.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on a PC of House so I really don't have a model number but can run necessary programs and send the results (no printer until I get this taken care of.  Somewhere during this time, I broke the laptop computer connection / printer.

In short, I am completely lost right now and would appreciate any help I can get.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Wait - I have re-read.  You have CREATED a new group of residential on this computer, you did not JOIN a homegroup. Heh

Pat on HAND-PAT has created a homegroup

You don't need to separate as you never joined one.  And if this computer was the one who originally created the homegroup before (before being cleared and installed own) then you really need to do, undo all thehomegroup computers and join them on the NEW one that you just created to get this straightened out.

The summary of instructions it is best to "start over".

On all systems on your home network, you want to be part of a homegroup, LET all homegroups they adhere (restart them before you do)

    1. Open homegroup by clicking on the button start , by clicking on Control Panel, type homegroup in the search box, and then click homegroup.
    2. Click «Leave the homegroup...» »
    3. Follow the signs to leave the homegroup.
    4. Restart the computer.

Repeat until you have done all of the computers you want to be part of the new homegroup.

Choose a computer to be the creator of the homegroup.  You want to without doubt that it is one that is connected to one more shared resources / the less mobile. Then CREATE the new residential group on it...

    1. Open homegroup by clicking on the button start , by clicking on Control Panel, type homegroup in the search box, and then click homegroup.

    2. On sharing with other computers running Windows 7 page, click on create a homegroup and then follow the instructions.

So you want to JOIN the other newly created homegroup computers...

    1. Open homegroup by clicking on the button start , by clicking on Control Panel, type homegroup in the search box, and then click homegroup.

    2. Click on register now and then complete the wizard.

Watch these videos to see if you see what they show...  It will also help with the instructions above.

Yes - I tell you (given that you seem to have a fairly small network) that since you started the thread with the computer, it is probably best to start with the homegroup as well.  :-)

  • Win 8 upgrade - the user can cause dual boot using the same license?

    Hello

Thanks to MS for offers updated Win 7 for win 8 to 14.99 USD for all new buyers of Win 7 PC after June, 2012.

I'm one of the eligible candidates for the upgrade at this price. However, I spent a lot of time, money and effort to put in place the Win 7 OS so that he could function at an optimal level I want.

My understanding of an upgrade to win 8 is to lose everything I have Win 7 and replace the entire operating system to win 8 via a download from the MS. Download Center

The problem is that I don't know if Win 8 is what I like and not sure if it is better than Windows 7. Reinstallation of Win 7 back takes time and effort.

Do I know if the user can install Win 8 to another partition primary drive c during the upgrade, retaining the original Win7 (same license) to the other partition?

If this is the case, it would be a great bonus for the new buyer of Win 7 PC, otherwise the user need to spend more money to buy to win a CD of Installation of 8 at the store and install t to separate partition.

    Thank you

    Low

You can dual boot with the free upgrade, so that you upgrade to the eligible license, in this case Windows 7. If you want to dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 8, you must buy the full version license, what is Windows 8 Pro for use staff system

  • Touchscreen driver works only under Windows 8

Install Windows 8 on HP Touchsmart 520 is really a nightmare. Usually, the display driver installation procedure and Voltron Touchscreen product error 9998 drivers. Oddly, I managed to somehow work around this by using a different display driver (some beta-version of Intel), but it was buggy. Since the reinstallation of Win 8 I can't to install more touch screen driver. Given that the Touchsmart series sells on its touchscreen capabilities and given the fact that HP relies on the Microsoft OS is not only slightly irritating that HP has so far not been able to provide drivers of devices that work well with Win 8 Release Preview. What solution do you offer me? Wait? Back to Win 7?

The pilot (Nextwindow Voltron Touchscreen) updates automatically after the installation of Win 8 RTM when you only run Windows Update routine. At least in my case it did, and it works fine.

  • Impossible to remove an unknown account, get the error 'cannot delete the unknown account because this object inherits permissions from its parent.

I have several programs that when I go to security there is an unknown account and when I try to delete unknown account I get this message that you cannot delete the Unknown(S-1...) account because this object inherits from its parent perssions. To delete the Unknown(S-1...) account, you must prevent this object from inheriting permissions. Turn off the option for the inheritance of permissions and then try to delete the Unknown(S-1...) account again. I tried the edit and advance features in respect of security without success. Why have I not control over security permissions?

Found a solution to this problem.

Go to the folder parent of the folder that contains the files with this unknown account number:
    1. right click on the PARENT folder, and then click Properties.
    2. on the Security tab, go to the advanced options (bottom window)
    3. in the new window, click the button change the permissions in the bottom.
    4. Select the Group (NOT AUTHENTICATED, just of users USERS) users
    5. check "replace all permissions of child object with permissions inheritable of this object.
    6. click on the OK button or apply and done, fixed number.

Hope this helps anyone else having this problem, for me it happened after reinstallation of win 7 on the same machine and keep my images on another partition, so it was spared by the new facility, so the old user account was always on the file permissions.

  • Activation of Windows 7 after several failed installations

The Win 7 Pro involved in this activation number was purchased new in 2011 and has been installed on the fairly old laptop from my wife at the time.  Here is how we have so many uses of the product activation code:

    * In October 2015, we decided it was time to replace his old laptop.  At Costco, we bought a Lenovo comes with Win 8 on it.  I replaced Win 8 with our copy of Win 7. - New activation 1

    * End of October, the laptop Lenovo had to be sent to Lenovo to fix faulty USB ports of the system.  When the system has been returned to us win 8 had been reinstalled.  Yet once I replaced it with our Win 7. - New activation 2

    * In November after reinstallation of Win. 7, the USB ports are still non-functional, so I sent it to Lenovo.  Yet once the system has been returned to us with Win 8 installed, and even once, I replaced it with our Win 7. - New 3 activation

USB ports still did not work, so I took the system to ' FRY' store in San Marcos, CA, for them to fix it.  In the process, they wanted to borrow our victory. 7 CD, which I gave, and they used. - New activation 4

    * Fry said that electronics USB were damaged and could not be fixed, so I went back to Costco and then bought system from Amazon, a DELL system comes with Win. 10. I replaced Win. 10 with our Win 7. - New activation 5

    * Believe it or not, ports USB of the DELL printer didn't work, then Amazon is replaced with a new DELL (with Win. 10).  This time, before doing anything either, I tested the USB ports and believe it or not, they WORKED!  Then, I once more, installed and activated our victory. 7 - new activation 6

This system - the new DELL with our old Win. 7 is installed, worked great.

We do not believe that it is possible to "invent" a story like the true story above!  If he must show "stupidity" above, I can provide documentation that supports the story.

Please put our activation 2 - one for the initial installation in 2011 and the other for installation on the DELL laptop I'm using to type this message for you.
