Reinstallation of Windows 8 on an OEM machine

A downloaded version (s) of Windows 8 to MSDN will reinstall Windows 8 on a laptop OEM?

> Laptop supports UEFI and has integrated into the BIOS OEM license.

> already extracted the KEY from the BIOS.

because when I tried to reinstall (clean install) using the version downloaded MSDN there this error:

"The product key entered don't match any available to install Windows images. Enter a different product key.

and when I click 'OK', it goes back into the 'INSTALL NOW'.

You cannot use the OEM key with a retail (Windows 8) MSDN license. You must use the support of manufacturers partition recovery or recovery.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

  • Product key for Windows Server 2008 R2 OEM becomes key to retail

    Hello

I'm a developer attempts to deploy Windows Server 2008 R2 with Windows OPK.

The machine, I am preparing has embedded OEM product key and Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool (MGADiag.exe) shows the Type of product as ID:

    3 OEM System Builder

I remove the product key using the command as directed by the documentation:

    c:\Windows\System32\sysprep\sysprep.exe/generalize/quiet/Shutdown /oobe

After the hoops and installation of the final image MGADiag.exe shows product Type ID as

    5 - retail

What should be the ID of the final product? Selling retail or OEM?

There is a point of entry in the answer file to enter the product key, but I am not implement OEM Activation and I have only a product key, I can't use (according to the license agreement). Then I left empty.

Note in Windows 7 discussion because I use the preinstallation kit OEM also applies to it as well.

  • Confused over the upgrades and full versions for Windows 8 on a virtual machine

    Hello

I am wanting to legally install Windows 8 or 8.1 on a virtual computer. When I look at the Microsoft pages only, they seem to offer Windows 8 one update and I can't find a way to the purchase of a previous version either. Is anyone able to point me to an explanation in plain English what I should buy.

    Thanks for your help.

If you need to install Windows 8 in a virtual machine, you must purchase the full version of license OEM System Builder. If you need to install Windows 8.1 in a virtual machine, you can buy the license of retail sales (which is a full version) or OEM System Builder License.

  • WIndows 7 and Server 2008 machines won't remember preferences of network discovery, needs to set every time you start up or wake up.

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone here could be kind enough to help me solve this situation

I have two machines Windows 7 and Server 2008 machines remember preferences of network discovery.

I use the software on the windows server that collects data and information to two windows 7 machines and discover the network is necessary for this purpose

These machines are set up in an autonomous local network set up as a working group the only other points on the network are none based on PC hardware that fortunately, the server communicates with and reads the data of

Once network discovery is defined for the network, the system works as expected, but on each startup (or wake up) network discovery is lost and need to be authorized. This is the case at the time windows server 20008 r2 and windows 7

How can I make these permanent preferences. for that it restarts and re establish communication its self without intervention

am I missing a setting or if not is there a way I can script the selection preference on each start (/wake) upwards.

the end user must be able to turn on the system / restart and use it with needing to have any IT / networking of knowledge to the outside to get the system running.

Thank you for taking the time to read my request

  • V.2002 of MS Windows XP Pro SP2 OEM from Newegg in 2006 would not agree on shrinkwrap product key during installation

I bought v.2002 of MS Windows XP Pro SP2 OEM from Newegg in 2006.  She would never accept the product key during the installation on his blister.  To complete the installation, I used a different key of a second OEM disk, and it worked.  It's been a while since I installed XP; but I was working on this computer lately and realized I never knew why the CD has had this problem or how to fix it.  I have 3 questions.  #1: the key on the blister does not match the key in "unattended installation. TXT "; is this normal?  #2: the key in "unattended installation. TXT doesn't work anymore.  #3.   Any ideas on this subject?  Thank you, Jeff.

The only thing I can think is that you were consistantly entered a bad key - it's almost unknown fo that there is to be a wrong key on the label and it is much more likely to be a case of misreading of the key, which is not easily read in the best of light (which is why I often use a torch and a magnifying glass).

I guess it's vaguely possible that this is a substituted forgery (some thieves employee pirateshave shoplifter and employees take to counterfeit and bring out the true copies).

I'm surprised that the other has worked, if it had already been installed on another PC - they are locked for the life of the first motherboard on which they are enabled.

The key in the file 'unattend.txt' is a dummy - it cannot be enabled and is not normally get used except in the OPK.
