Reinstalled Vista, Activation Code invalid
Windows Vista was behaving erratically. So, I reinstalled from my Vista CD. But, Windows informed me that I entered the activation code was incorrect. I have access to my original CD of Vista purchase invoice from 2012. Microsoft would accept my receipt and provide me with a new activation key?

My laptop just up a defect of activation code saying this code is already in use, the thing is Ive had to reinstall windows, sometimes due to windows not able to load, ive used my product key from the bottom of my laptop I bought nearly two years ago is there anyway I can fix this problem without having to buy a new product key that I have not its just when I paid for my license when I bought this laptop and it was a fault of windows which led me to having to reinstall my operating system,
Thank you
Karl Neale
That is to say that it is in the EU, because it was used by your own computer. The activation program may not always make the difference. If you mean that you can not activate automatically, try to do it manually:
To activate manually, go to start, search, and type in slui 4 enter. Enter your country and press Next. You will be on a screen with a phone number and a bunch of codes below. Dial the number and browse automatic guests until you get to a human being. Have your handy product code because it will be asked. Explain the situation, but it's the same PC and only installed on this PC. They should give you a code to enter on this screen to activate Vista.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

How can I get an activation code for a reinstallation of windows 8.1?
Fullon1100, welcome to the forum.
Product key (activation code) to win 8.1 is embedded in the BIOS. Therefore, you can use only the system recovery software to reinstall Win 8.1.
Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

problems reinstalling Vista, error code 0 x 80070017
Hi help someone can help you. I'm selling my pc and wiped the hard drive by using the drive to kill her. The problem is now when I try to reinstall, I get the error message - windows cannot install required files. The file is corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code 0 x 80070017
Please can someone help?Hello
You don't say how you try to reinstall the operating system.
It's the opinion of their website on relocation:
I'll be able to use my drive HARD after Active @ KillDisk erase operation?
In order to use the HDD again you must:
- repartition the HARD drive using standard utility like FDISK
- reformat the hard disk using the standard utility like FORMAT
- Reinstall the operating system using bootable CD-ROM or USB / floppy

Vista activation problem, invalid key product
I am using Window Vista for years but yesterday, I stayed up late and left my computer. Then it automatically shut down and when I turned it on again today, he asked me to activate Windows because I typed in the product key is not valid. He asked me to tuype in another product key or activate later so I chose to activate later and the screen looks like now when I use safe mode! What should I do now?

New activation code for Vista?
So I went from XP to Vista with upgrade license. Unfortunately, I had trouble getting through my existing windows installation and installed the software from the disc.
Because it is a clean install, my Vista activation code does not work. Very well, I went online to try to buy a new activation code. Need me just to the home page of Windows 8. I followed the instructions on the search for the phone line automated to reflect activation that might work. There is no such thing; the options are to activate online or activate any.If my computer stops working after 30 days because I can't get a new activation code for my existing, legitimate product, I think I'll have to join the ranks of those who have learned to install an illegal copy of Windows. No need to buy a new license.
Your problem is that you try to use a license upgrade with a clean install. No worries, there is a solution.1. click on [start], type "regedit" and press ENTER.2. navigate to the following registry key.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Setup/OOBE /.3. double-click on MediaBootInstall, change the value from 1 to 0.4. close regedit.5. open an elevated command prompt.(See "How to run a command with elevated privileges?")6. run the following command.slmgr /rearm7 reset.8. try to activate your Vista again. -
BlackBerry smartphones no Activation Codes
After an upgrade of the Blackberry software, I tried to follow the instructions to reinstall the purchased applications from Blackberry App World. After scoring in My World, however, none of the applications contained therein have their activation codes in the details. All ask me to re-purchase. I have all my emails received as proof of purchase, but I need to reinstall correctly activation codes.
As the Blackberry offers no direct email support or even the App World, I have to post here. Then... of solutions?
seeker2734 wrote:
- It does not seem to be a 'Clear' option when I point out a request in MyWorld (after login) and hit the BBKey. I help Log In (even if I supposedly already connected and received the message that MyWorld synchronized my purchases, which he did not), see details, recommend, Contact, Application Switch and Close support.
Weird... weird... I met not what you are dealing with, so I think that sort of means to cope. Try these things as well:
CEAR of the application cache:
1. open the App World
2. go to my world
3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T
3. for Storm/Pearl - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)
4A. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot
Start with AppWorld...
Check your PayPal - log in since a PC/browser and make sure that the credentials you use it are identical to those that allows you to connect to MyWorld. Also to ensure that the credit card that you have set to PayPal is current and valid.
Also, please try a hard reset: turn on, remove the back cover and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.
In addition, you can try this sequence:
(1) AppWorld remove your BB (Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications)-if she prays that you restart the BB to do.
(2) a Batt Pull restart as described above.
(3) get a new link and install a new copy of AppWorld
- Yet once, if he asks to restart, do.
(4) restart another Batt-sweater
(5) see if it works now.
seeker2734 wrote:
- Why App World just doesn't understand the activation keys in the Order Confirmation email? That would solve what seems to be a rather failing of the MyWorld implementation if I have to go through all these complete uninstall / reinstall just to find an activation key.
I have no idea... I did not write AppWorld, so I can't answer. It works the way it works. Why it works as it is not for me to know.
seeker2734 wrote:
- If these steps do not work (I'm very doubtful), specifies how to access MyWorld with an idea of my purchases?
Road RIM for AppWorld in-house support is as follows... go to this URL:
and complete the form. Use, in the "Please select a component:"on the ground, AppWorld billing/payment selection. " Any other setting routera simply anonymously you on these public forums. If you do not have an "order number" for that field, just use whatever it is (for example, '123456'). If the shape responds by telling you that your PIN is not valid, please report this fact back here also there is a path separate resolution for this problem.
I hope something there get it.

I bought the laptop in 2006. The windows is genuine, but I don't have the activation code. What should I do? I installed vista and because I had no code after about 4 weeks it will stop. I'm up, but its prompting me to activate again. Help, please! This has been a good laptop and will continue to be if I can get help with activation.
Original title: old Dell laptop broke down.
Hello
You can contact Dell and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks and to reinstall the operating system.
They should do this for a small fee.
If this method has not been destroyed by the last re - install, and if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
With a Dell, you press F8 at startup and follow the instructions
http://www.Dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/19/KCS/KcsArticles/ArticleView?docid=266618
The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.
See you soon.

Because the two system restore points are corrupt, I need to reinstall vista, but I get an error message using the previous operating system after I entered the activation code, is there a work around? (lost in moving to the new apt disk backup)
Hello
you sitting not what type of disc you are using
you start from the DVD drive to do a clean install
to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start
It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu
Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order
http://helpdeskgeek.com/how-to/change-boot-order-XP-Vista/
and read this too
http://www.theeldergeek.com/Vista/vista_clean_installation.html
and here are the different ways to reinstall vista
Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence
or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Follow the instructions, but when asked what service you need the ansafone phone, don't answer - it should oblige the operator to answer, who can deal with you

I inherited my mums old laptop. There were problems with it starting, so I reinstalled XP Professional on the disc that came with the laptop. He said that the activation code is incorrect. I ran the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool and ripped the report below. It seems that the activation code I have is correct, so can not understand why it won't work!

Your relocation was made of a set of recovery discs Dell - which uses a key to Dell and cannot be enabled on any other brand.

You need to return to this system to its licensed version of Windows by using the recovery media for that PC - or a good disc XP Home OEM System Builder.
