Internet worked well until I reinstalled windows vista 64 bit on my Dell laptop, now my Internet does not work. Went into Device Manager and there is no network adapter. I tried to reinstall the driver that came with my laptop disk but it doesn't seem to work, says that I need an updated driver. I don't know what else to do, I have to install a new driver from the Internet? Ugh becomes very frustrated!
http://support.Dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=Gen
Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/laptop > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for the latest Vista drivers > download/install them.
The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save drivers > copy them into Flash Drive > transfer / install on another computer/laptop.

Windows Vista security alert sending indicating virus attack and does not allow me to get security alerts. How to bypass or disable? I have another anti-spyware (Kapersky) program that manages all aspects and indicates no virus found.
I want to disable Vista, but it won't let me and the only solution it says is to download a update for a cost. Help, please.
The 'alert' is not from Vista. Your computer is infected by a rogue security program. It's called "thugs" because he pretended to be a good guy but is really bad. Don't pay them!

These can work for you, and all can be good. However, in many cases the computer will also infected with other horses of Trojan and protected by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either the interactive assistance to one of the specialty forums listed in the link below, OR take your machine to a professional on the local computer OR backup your data and do a clean install of Windows. My Dell Inspiron 530 sudenlly crashed, I could not start it. I called for the support of a group that I paid for. Technicians helped me start the PC, but they could not fix the screen resolution: in the display settings window, the cursor is on the left end of the bar, the low position and could not be moved. The technician finally asked me to save the folders files and reinstall Windows Vista. After the relocation, the screen resolution problem persisted. Technicians then reformat the HD, then reinstall Windows Vista again, the result was the same. We cannot change the resolution. Help, please.

Reinstall Windows Vista 32-bit
Try to reinstall Windows Vista after the failure of the system. At the point where the choice of the installation location, I have error message: Windows cannot find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation. I have another drive in the system than before the accident. There is only one disc so so no choice for Windows. Suggestions?
You don't say what kind of DVD you are using; Recovery or Microsoft Vista DVD Maker...
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Windows 7 (64 bit) - smartmenu does not
Hello
I have re-installed windows 7 after that hdd has stopped working. I did it to each update (update of windows assistant hp, etc.). But my smartmenu does not work properly. I would like to use keyboard shortcuts for volume control (it works but I can't see what I'm doing; + or - the voice), webcam (can't find the quick icon) and other things.
Is there anything missing?
BTW, the system restore dvd, I made did not work when I need them. I spend 10 DVDs for this (4 of them gave error by making the copy). So I had to install the iso of windows in a foreign language for me!
Kind regards
Hello
If its reports that it has not installed properly, it may be worth trying the following.
First of all, if HP MediaSmart SmartMenu is listed in programs and features, right click, select uninstall and when finished, restart the laptop.
Download the installer again and save it to your folder Dwonloads.
HP MediaSmart SmartMenu - Windows 7.
download and install the Installer x 64 64-bit .msi on the link below.
open your download folder, click with the right button on the HP MediaSmart SmartMenu Installer, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok. Open the newly extracted folder and go to SmartMenu\hp\tmp\src, then click with the right button on SmartMenuSetup64 and select "Run as Administrator".
When finished, restart the computer again and let Windows load completely for a few minutes before checking it in.

All of a sudden my computer does not connect to my HP Laserjet 1000 printer. These work very well together for several years.
Now all of a sudden I get a message that the computer cable is not connected. I tried to charge the printer program.
I unplugged and reconnect the cable to the computer, etc.. The system does not work.
I learn by two other people, who have automatic updates of Windows, they had the same problem. We have a Kodak
printer and the other has a Lexmark printer. This makes me think that the problem is in the updates of Windows.
So, what should I do to fix this? I'm NOT a computer person and I'm confused.
James

Can I reinstall Windows vista 64 bit with a product key.
Original title: Switch system
I have a 64-bit Windows license and the product code on my computer. Caused by a virus I took it to a repair store. Back in the Properties section it now shows as a 32-bit system and is included in the new product code the letters OEM. Can I reinstall the original 64 bit system using the product code? If I do I risk reinfecting my system with the virus? It is common for repair shops to install another operating system?

If you have problems with the recovery of the manufacturer of the computer media, you will need to contact them.
It is their software/recovery process, not Microsoft.

Windows Vista install the new WD hard drive empty - does not not :(
It was my original question: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware/HP-Pavillion-a6645f-No-hard-drive-detected-BIOHD-2-err...
And now...
I got my CD of HP recovery and ordered a new WD 500 GB HDD... same features as the seagate who pooped me and I can't get windows install on the new HD
No matter what I do, computer wants to open the Recovery Manager and according to the available procedure does not work. It works me in circles asking for #1 drive, then the drive recovery supplement and back with no progress.
What I have to do is use this form: http://vistahomepremium.windowsreinstall.com/installnewhdd/installnewhdd.htm but only the Recovery manager opens when I boot from the CD.
Anyone have any ideas?
If I followed your questions correctly... you had a BIOHD-2 error, ordered HP recovery discs, replaced the hard drive and tried to restore your system with no luck. Is that a correct assessment of the situation?
OK, you need to make a Windows Vista install screen... not who's going to go with your HP recovery CD/DVD. The disks do not contain the Windows installation routine, only the HP Recovery Manager. These discs contain more or less, an image of the HP installed OS and software, plus some drivers and applications. To the best of my knowledge, you should have three DVDs (1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3/3) more an additional drive. You should boot from CD 1 of 3... Then, when asked to insert the 2/3... Then, when asked to insert 3/3. And finally if/when necessary additional drive.
At HP; Recover the system after the hard drive is replaced (Windows Vista)
