reinstalled windows xp and now no sound

I had to reinstall windows xp and 'rebuild' all that was a pain. now I have no sound, windows media player says I have no audio device, I look in Device Manager and there is a yellow! next to "audio device on high definition audio bus" and "sm bus controller". I loaded all the drivers from the dell cd and ran windows update several times without success. any ideas on how to solve what I imagine is a simple solution?

see you soon,

Padraig

Tricky,

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I did a Google search on 'install' chip of Dell and found this site:

http://www.Dell.com/support/home/us/en/19?c=us&s=DHS&CS=19&l=en

This allowed me to identify the components and/or the 'missing' drivers and then download them. After a long installation everything works as before.

Thank you very much

I reinstalled Windows Vista and now I can't run "repair your computer". I need to do this because I'm missing a few scripts.  What should I do to fix this

    Hello

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

Most often when a device does not work, it's because the driver has been corrupted.

  • I forgot to disable Adobe products before you reinstall Windows 7 and now can not activate

I used Photoshop CS3 and InDesign 5.5 on two computers, so all my activations are exhausted. On one of these computers, my Windows 7 system was very rough and I decided to reinstall. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn off my Adobe programs before you reinstall the operating system. I reinstalled Photoshop and InDesign, but I can't turn it back on because the Adobe system considers as I already have the maximum number of facilities.

How can I solve my problem, now I can no longer speak with an Adobe engineer who has access to my registration information?

(Please do not confuse this post with another I sent this morning on Photoshop stopping working on my other laptop and refusing to reinstall.) And again with this laptop, if I managed to reinstall Photoshop, how do I activate, since I am unable to reactivate before uninstall/reinstall? I added that note, since the question of activation is shared by two laptops.)

You should contact the Adobe Support via chat and ask them to reset your activations.  Since you seem to have several problems, be sure to ask the help of reset.  If you start to ask for help more they may not help at all and you will return to these forums where no one can help you.

I had to reinstall vista on my computer, and then he told me to buy anouther product key I do not understand why. can someone help

Your machine was manufactured before the release of Windows Vista.

The COA sticker is of a type that cannot be used on computers that were shipped with preinstalled Vista - so this key has been moved from another machine and is not valid on this one.

For which version and edition of WIndows is the slot machine license, * according to the COA sticker on his case? *

  • Reinstalled Windows Vista, and now the graphics are distorted.

After installing windows Vista, I noticed that the graphics are not good. Looks like it's tense from left to right. Round circles are shaped eggs.
