Reinstalled Windows XP Pro, cannot be enabled, says invalid

I need to reinstall Windows XP Pro and I have several legal copies of XP Pro, but when I put in the key code, it says that the code is not valid.  What can I do?

You can contact Microsoft Activation Support and explain your situation. They are likely to help you, since you had originally a Windows operating system is legitimate on the machine in question.

  • I had to reinstall Windows Xp Pro, the product key will not work.

I have not changed any hardware or anything like that. I downloaded the updates of msupdates and my computer went the fritz would not do anything. I reinstalled windows xp pro from the restore disc that came with my computer. The product key is not accepted by windows to activate it. I need to know what to do. It's a Dell optiplex 2.8 gig Board and proc 2 gig of ram. Anyway when I bought.

Hi, I am assuming that you are unable to activate your XP via internet, you can try the phone holder to turn on.

You will be asked of the remote computer to give the support page for phone numbers.

You will then receive a new set of numbers to activate your XP.

If this does not work, you will be directed to a Microsoft employee. Explain your problem and if they are happy with your answer will give you an activation key.

  • Reinstall windows xo pro sp2/sp3?

Have a laptop with Windows XP Pro SP2 and it is 32-bit. I want to reinstall the OS, but I do not have the CD. How to do this? Where can I get the operating system? Can I download it from any source? Any link?

Now the latest service pack for XP's SP3. So I can download SP3 from the windows website and install it in my pc. Is it free? At the bottom of my pc

There is a sticker that shows the product key. But I think it's the product key of Windows XP SP2. I want to know that can I download XP SP3 and use this product key to reinstall the OS? Am I wrong?

Please explain in detail what to do after I downloaded the OS? I want to download on another computer. How to make a CD so that I can install windows via a CD?

Probably, your laptop has a depression recovery accessible by the F key or modified mechanism F (for example Ctrl) key at boot time. To learn more about this we need the details of your laptop (brand and model). You can find this documented somewhere in the start menu or in a booklet that came with the laptop.

In addition, there are probably a facility to create your own recovery CD/DVDs. Again, look in the start menu and in any document paper. If this facility exists, you should do so as soon as possible because it's your only method of recovery in case of hard drive failure.

Otherwise recovery integrated and/or the creation of recovery media, you will need to contact the manufacturer for recovery media.

You can download a standalone SP3 Installer of...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24

.. .This is only a service pack installation, not a full installer of XP operating system. You can ignore the text which says that it is for network installations and also ignore the text informing Windows/Microsoft Update If a single update of a PC. You will not request a product key.

Indeed you will need this installer of SP3 update of the OS until Windows Update will be operational. Install it before even to try Windows Update.

Recovery of the manufacturer would not normally require the entry of the product key of your sticker. But if this is the case, the key on the sticker is good for recovery and updates including SP3.

After recovery, you must uninstall any AV solution came pre-installed, do the SP3 upgrade without being connected to the internet and then install Microsoft Security Essentials for which a standalone installer can be downloaded here, for example...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=5201

    .. .or here...

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Security-Essentials-download

Then you can connect to the internet and download MSE (or alternative AV) updates and Windows updates.

A standalone IE8 installation program can be downloaded here...

    Download network drivers for Internet

Visit the manufacturer's Web site and select your model (this is usually done in the Support section). You should be able to download drivers for your model if they have drivers for your version of Windows. Download the driver and then follow the instructions to install.

  • Windows 7 Pro cannot connect to the network when idle too long (large company)

We have approximately 75 users on Windows 7 Professional.  About two weeks ago (and the next day, Windows updates have been deployed to all PCs in our outside IT), the vast majority of users (but not all) have started to have a problem in what they can connect first thing in the morning; However, they immediately get an error that are not connected to the network, that network drives can be connected, they cannot access the internet, etc.  A reboot solves problems and the problem will not recur until the computer is left idle during the night.  Our outside IT says that what is happening on several client sites that they manage, but they have no idea of the cause; they are theorizing that it's maybe a botched Windows Update.  I have Windows 7 Pro at home and did not have the problem once.  Any suggestions appreciated.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN

  • Reinstalling windows 7 pro/restorePLEASEHELP

I'll buy a new Win 7 PC before they are gone.  I have Win 7 Pro on the old PC.  Can I uninstall and reinstall on the new PC?  How to uninstall it without a full factory restore?  My computer tech said a full factory restore could damage the system, given that I added 4 g of RAM, a 1 TB internal hard drive and a power of 500W.  I have still my discs and they seem to have no scratches, I checked.  My PC is 3 years old and I intend to sell it.

If the old PC came preloaded with Windows 7 Professional, you can not transfer to the new computer. This is because its what you call an OEM license.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

    What is OEM software? :

    Licensing FAQ:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/OEM/en/licensing/sblicensing/pages/licensing_faq.aspx

If this is a separate store bought license, then all you need to do is to withdraw the product licence in form of the machine or reinstall the original license that came with this machine.

I leave the Windows 7 Professional license, since the new computer comes preloaded with Windows 7 already.

Your computer technician has no knowledge, do a factory restore will not damage the computer, its a feature of most modern computers.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

    ------------------------

Once you remove it, you can use the product key to upgrade the new computer.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

You may need to reactivate by phone:

  • reinstalled Windows XP Pro on the new HARD disk, not invited to key code

My Dimension 9200 needed a new HARD drive. Ordered from Dell, installed HD then re-installed Windows XP Pro sp2. I forgot to unplug the media reader, so I had to reinstall it again to get HARD drive letter assignment as C. Added drivers in good condition and just download and install sp3 and all the necessary updates. Now, all that remains is to transfer all the files from the old HD.

Never, I was invited to the WinXP key code. I DO have the Dell OEM disc as well as the installation key code in the original Dell factory. I was wondering if anyone else had the same "problem". I checked under administrative tools and don't see anything that ask you "activation". The only thing that I went off and was invited to provide was the key code when I installed MS Office 2003. When I check in system properties, General, it shows that it is registered to me and some numbers with Dell OEM then more numbers, not the OS key code well.

Anyone can shed some light on this? Thank you

When you use a Dell OEM media on a Dell computer, it checks the BIOS to make sure that it is install on a Dell computer, then it will be activated automatically, using a generic OEM key.  As long as you have the sticker COST/License/Product Key, you have the right to run Windows on this computer.  That's pretty standard for OEM systems.

System properties still shows a 'code', not the actual key.  You can use Magic Jelly Bean to retrieve the key used to activate Windows, but the key, that he will return does not match your COA and cannot be used for manual activation.

  • Apps de Metro de Windows 8 Pro cannot connect to internet after the first reboot

    Hello

I have recently installed Windows 8 Pro x 64 OEM, and I noticed after awhile that my store, Stocks, Weather, News,... cannot connect to the internet more. However, all other applications work.
Even more strange, after installing all the updates, I noticed that I can navigate with my IE on the desktop, but not a single party of metro?
Long story short, after several relocations (refresh option), I've noticed as a result of behavior:
    1. during the first start after installation, EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY. I can browse, look at the weather, everything store.
    2. when I restart the computer and any time after that, is STOP WORKING.
Another thing I noticed was that his (SoundBlaster Audigy) card didn't work the first time, but after rebooting, it worked, so I guess something happened after the first reboot?
It was a clean install (OEM version) and Windows are activated, and I tried signing in with or without live account (no difference).
Help me please, since this is quite irritating :(

    Hello

    I finally found the problem.
The invisibility of the active network has pushed me towards the answer.
biggest mistake I made was using the option refresh windows, because it was useless for my troubleshooting.
By mistake I chose my first install, public internet connection and the course of the updating of the system did not ask see me that.
In defining the private connection after clean installation (No refresh, brute force reinstall) makes everything work after reboot and completely solved the problem for me.
Why the network does not disappear after reboot? It's something weird, and it shouldn't happen!
The resolution of network problems found no problem, because the internet connection worked, but he had no problem with no network also appear or metro apps does not.
This should be corrected, as it would be a great help in this scenario.
TL; DR: Make sure you set your connection on the private sector, or windows becomes crazy and your metro applications do not work (and I also noticed that visual studio could not deploy projects in this scenario, but that's another story).
