Related links?

I create a file that will connect to other PDF files.  All the files are on a flash drive.  The finished product will be copied in several other flash drives to be distributed to customers.

How I have same link to files if I want to open them in a browser?

I know that I can create the link and choose "Open a file" and Acrobat will guide me through to find the file, but I want to open it in a browser, so should I choose "Open web page", but then I don't know what to use as the URL.  I've read about relative links and I think that's what I need.

I saw an example of a person with the same concept.  The files are on a flash drive, and when I looked at the link information that he was ready to open a web page.  The link itself was /somefoldername/thefilename.pdf that's all.  And if clicked it opens the pdf file in a browser.  Key is also that I can take this USB to any computer and it works.  So I know that this is possible, I'm missing a modest but significant step.

You don't need to use web links to it. If you create links in Acrobat for files that are located on the same drive as the "master" file, they are always relative.

  • How can I disable all the related links?

    I never get tired to find the related link info. they pop up whenever I go to another site - I want to get rid of it - please help!

    Sounds like an extension not desired may have snuck on your system, perhaps as a ride-along with some free software.

    Try disabling all extensions essential or unknown here (when in doubt, turn off):

    Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category (in the left column, click on Extensions)

    Typically, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    I have a remote control and test server (xampp) set up and everything worked until I changed it. But the links are now displayed like this

    Here are my parameters to the test server.

    Capture.PNG

    Well Yes.  It's the behaviour expected of a local test server.  The reason is that the / drills all the way up to your hard drive instead of the site xampp folder.  If you publish your remote site, your root relative links will work as it should.  Just trust your code.

  • Root Relative Linking is not possible?

    I'm trying to set up my site so that the links are relative to the root of the Site, but it does not allow me to do.  I can click on the button of the root of the Site in local news, but when I click on save and then go back to it, she returned to the Document-related links.  I do not have a Web URL that I can enter in, and I have to use the link relative to the root (I can go into detail as to why, but I'm going to keep for now).

  • How to make the site root-relative links work in DW and the server?

    See details on buggy behavior DW image link, below. My question is:

    (1) how the site root-relative links work in DW and the server? Or...

    (2) how to reliably automate change of hundreds of links relative to the root of the form

    /images/image.jpg relating to the document?

    In other words, to

    .. /images/image.jpg or

    .. /.. /images/image.jpg or

    .. /.. /.. /images/image.jpg etc... According to the location of the directory.

    The old format (/images/image.jpg ) used to work properly in my previous Setup of DW 8 but appear grey in DW after 'redevelopment' of mac cs5.5 DW. (they look good on the server, but it is difficult to change the image-heavy pages locally when they are all gray).

    I tried to change the files to how DW creates relative links root now:

    /public_html/images/image.jpg, which is a flow of root very easy, attractive, since there is a one-to-one mapping. These look great in DW, but are detailed on the server!

    I looked at the "Advanced" site configuration, and it seemed that it would be possible for the nuke part /public_html/ of my server info... but it also seemed that there was the potential to do damage, modification of these parameters, which are automatically generated from our server connection settings, which seem to work.

    The "links from the document / site root" toggle... did change how DW interprets existing links, or simply change the value by default when you add a link?  I did 80% of the file... before paper links I wondered if relative to the root is not better?

    Of course, it seems less ambiguous for all these pictures if theres a way to make the relative root works for the mode of creation of DW, DW link checking and server.

    Summary of the buggy behavior: (see the test with images here)

    Think of your site definition is set up wrong.  public_html should not be to anywhere in your local site.  It is up to your remote site under the directory root definition.  See screenshot.  In my example, the root directory of the server is htdocs /.  This is where you put public_html

  • Relative links vs. absolute links in heading 4

    I have Troubé trying to change the absolute links to relative links in my project.

    You can use Captivate settings to generate an Autorun file and then edit it with any text editor so that loading the CD ROM it will open the menu file of publication.  If all of your records are at the root of the CD you have just the autorun of the value to something like folder1/index.htm, but just check whether or not you change the forward slashes so that they become the backslashes instead of slashes.  (Oblique are used in web environments, whereas the backslashes are more used in LAN link paths).  I don't remember if it made a difference, then you would be well advised to knock out a CD or two and do tests in your final production environment before burning your CD-ROM

  • Be confused with the absolute/relative links

    I have a simple site and use PHP includes.

    I use paths that have the... / in front of them so that they are related.  I understand that I may use a path with just the bar oblique fwd and not two periods at the front, but I don't know why.

    My site works ok direct, but not when I use localhost to preview in the browser.

    What I'm doing wrong or not seeing?

    Thank you

    Martin

    Installs on the Dreamweaver application development forum, which deals with PHP and other things aside server.

    You are also confused about the difference between absolute and relative links. An absolute link is a complete link - it contains the full path. Links that start by... / and / are both relative links. The first style is compared to the document. The second is relative to the root of the site.

    When you use PHP includes, the path to the include file must be compared to the document or the file must be in the PHP include_path.

    When you use links inside of an include file, they should normally be from the root of the site.

    Your links do not work locally because the root of the site is localhost. Probably, you develop your site in a subfolder of localhost. Therefore, the links point to a folder above what you want.

    The solution is to create a virtual host. Details on the configuration of the virtual hosts in Windows can be found in this tutorial on my website: http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/apache22_vhosts.php.

  • How to put in the form of related links content

    I have a report that lists accounts on its lines, and each account is linked to another (extraction emulation) report this amount of breaks for an account chosen in its components (original entry, settings, etc.). Everything works fine, but the departure report seems very 'busy' because each header line is pointed out now (because of the link to the related content report). Something like this:

    RelatedContent_looks.JPG

    Is there any way to change (delete, make sure dotted, etc.) these points out, at least to change their color? I would not be surprised if there is a unit of config (xml, referential) somewhere in the system, so I hope that someone was playing with it now.

    Thank you

    Milos

    Just an update to all - Oracle came back to me and confirmed that this feature (by changing the formatting of link) only is not supported so far, and they have no intention when add you it. Too bad, with all others .css, .xml, and other configuration files, one would have thought that it was included also.

  • I use the links added in the pdf edition and that it will create absolute links to relative links not?

    When I send files to the client the links do not work as they refer to the place on my hard drive not record that they exist in the customer's computer.  Is there a way to create a link with Adobe DC?  IE.   supportingfile.PDF instead of C://files/documents/myfiles/supportingfile.pdf. If the links will always work when they are sent to the client.

    Links created in Acrobat are always relative (unless you hardcoded the path to the file in a script or something like that). Move the file to a different location, and you will see that they will change accordingly.

  • How to store relative links when generating PDFs?

    I have a Word document with hypertext links.  When I generate a PDF, it makes these absolutes.  It doesn't matter how to generate the pdf file (save as pdf, print to PDF, using Macromedia for Word 2010, or open acrobat pro and conversion in this way).  How to preserve links to external files?

    The only recommendation I have is to use an external tool to convert files of absolute links to those related.

  • Root relative linking

    Hi all

    My site has a menu nav which currently links are relative to the directory sound in. I have to go back and change the menu when I use the menu on another page that is in a different directory, so the links will work.

    Example:

    If I am on the home page and go to the page "epinfo.htm" so I'm here...

    per/epinfo.htm

    If so I navigate to the page "contact us", I get this...

    geninfo/geninfo/contactus.htm

    So I would like to know how to avoid having to go into the menu and change it whenever I use it in a different directory.

    Thank you!

    DW will adjust these links for you when you save pages in different
    records.

    Look - if I have a page that contains a link to this file.

    and I then save this level of a directory of top page, DW will adjust the
    link to be like this-

    It's one of the advantages of using something like DW - manages your
    Links for you.

  • Odd: CS3 did not properly manage the relative link to swf file. Why?

    When I add a swf file to my model, it will update the pages, but then to write the link incorrectly. While the model said the swf file can be found here: /images/banners/Sales.swf it's not rewrite the link for the pages. So my index page always has the code: ... /images/banners/Sales.swf when it should read images/banners/sales.swf. The link to the JavaScript file is managed by Dreamweaver correctly, then why not the swf file? I missed something in the advanced site settings?

    If you use these things in the templates, you must use relative root.
    not links related document.

    Try this-

    /images/banners/sales.swf

  • I need assistance with relative links in a PDF interactive

    Recently asked me to create an interactive PDF which could serve as a user interface to access a number of files from the client.

    The files are broken down into about 30 folders and subfolders, and there is a link from the PDF file in each folder, each containing several PDF files or image. I created the document in InDesign CC and it works well on our network, but the problem now is moving the whole project to the customer via a USB key.  Moving the files this way will break all links.

    The question is twofold: 1) how can I make the project works fine as a standalone unit on the key USB. and (2) how can I make sure when the customer moves everything on their network, it will still function properly?

    To get what you want, you need make the main folder, interactive PDF and link files then open the interactive file in Acrobat and perform a re-edit of all what he.

  • Relative link in SWF opens the window of your browser, why?

    Hi all

    I have a SWF movie with a link that I need to be a link. ActionScript 3.0 Code below

    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    var getIndex:URLRequest = new URLRequest("..) ("/ index.html");

    -Enter button-------.

    E_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, bclick);

    function bClick(event:MouseEvent):void {}
    navigateToURL (getIndex);
    }

    When the user clicks on the link it opens the page but in a new browser window instead of navigate within the same window of the page, as links should do, shouldn't they?

    Does anyone know how to remedy this? A beginner a bit (as I'm sure you guessed)

    Cheers in advance

    use:

    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    var getIndex:URLRequest = new URLRequest("..) ("/ index.html");

    -Enter button-------.

    E_btn.addEventListener (MouseEvent.CLICK, bclick);

    function bClick(event:MouseEvent):void {}
