Remote access for PXI with DAQmx

I have a PXI chassis with a real-time embedded (PXI-8186) controller and some modules DAQ (PXI-6259) x 2. I've been programming this via LabWindows with a kind of client-server of RT - UI thing by using network variables and others. For some applications, it would be enough and more convenient to be able to interact with the PXI hardware directly from a connected PC network DAQ.

The controller running a VISA server, it seems that I could connect to a remote machine with a kind of viOpen ("visa://pxi.somewhere.com//PXI0::15:INSTR"); ") and then contact a particular data acquisition card. But I can't find any information on the programming of the 6259 in any way other than DAQmx or similar.

First question then: is the interface PXI - 6259 VISA described anywhere?

More practical would be to continue to use DAQmx, through something like DAQmxCreateDOChan (taskHandle,"pxi.somewhere.com//Dev1/port0/line0:4",...)

I found references to what we call 'Remote access appliance', for example:

http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/5CC9792C6CD4A34C862565BC0072D5DF

that seems to put in place something equivalent, but I don't find it to watch it in MAX:

Start-> all programs-> National Instruments-> NI - DAQ-> the remote device access server

and I've seen suggestions that maybe it isn't that for traditional DAQ or only pre 7.0, or in any other way was no longer applicable.

Second question: "Remote device access" are always and how to I install/activate it on my PXI controller?

Someone at - it clues as to the foregoing, or any other way to get the same kind of features?

Thank you

Hello Mike,.

Remote device access was a feature in NOR-DAQ traditional long just now.  This feature was not worn on OR-DAQmx because the framework it was built on does not really correspond with the need of modern times for network security.

Unfortunately, there is no functionality you describe by saying to DAQmx.  Currently, this type of control is limited to deploying applications to the target of RT.  While the VISA is used for some parts of the DAQmx interaction, these function calls are not documented.  Someone else on the forums may be able to help if they tried to implement something like this in the past.

Good luck!

  • Try to set up remote access for Foscam babyphone. Windows Vista & I have A Westell router. I can't understand this helps :(

Im trying to set up remote access for a babyphone Foscam (Fl8918W). I worked on it all day.  No matter what I do, I can't get the camera to get on my computer (or iPhone).

Here's some of what I've done so far...

-Camera configuration and find the IP address

-Type the IP address of the camera in the browser and camera open (it uses Active X)

-Change Port number of the camera (Guide suggested using 2000)

-Now you can type the IP address and the port number in the browser and access camera

-Complete the Port forwarding on the router (I did this several times using each option that I could understand. Finally, I think that I did it correctly because it looked like he turned on - but I don't really know.  "I couldn't get any real information on the Port Forwarding for my Westell A90-750045-07).

-Access using the public IP address.  It did not work at all. I had to find my IP address for my computer/network (which I did) then open my browser and type the IP address followed by: 2000 (new port). The camera was then to open in the browser, but it did not work.

-IP service.  Management said that the device could be available over the internet using a public IP address. He told me to go on No - IP and sign up for the free service.  After the signing, I was directed to create a host name.  I managed to do it.

-L' direct access of the ACTIVE camera address No - IP.  I was directed to type my address No - IP (hostname) in my browser, followed by: and the Port number (: 2000). He said that I should then able to access my camera from a computer or mobile app on the Internet using this address.  This does not at all.

-J' tried to make it work with my iPhone. I was directed to download and install an application called Live Cams Pro - by Eggman Technologies.  He then ordered me to add a camera. I chose the correct model of Foscam, entered the IP address (or my No - IP address) WITHOUT port number, then on another line, I entered the Port number, entered my user name and password and click Save.  Nothing ever came and finally the connection times out.

I did all the change of option combinations in each stage as many times I could think.  All I could change in these steps, I tried all the options I could.  I can't make it work.

I'm so frustrated.  I'm not a computer person.  I managed to do a lot of things by reading the instructions carefully.  I read the Foscam Installation Guide and the next babyphones instruction manual (I bought the camera from the company).  Nothing I've tried works.

Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Did you put the IP cameras as a destination / local IP?
If this is not the case, do.

Aside from that, the best would be to contact the manufacturer of your router for assistance with how to correctly forward ports to your camera.

  • Static IP remote access for the media center

I NMH410 work through a WRT610N router.   My ports are configured for static IP access.  Seems to just going through www.ciscomediahub.com does not work well for me.

Can someone provide the 'exact' URL I would enter in order to access my media center?

Documentation of assistance through Cisco shows: https://Wan_IP_Address but that doesn't seem to work.  The demand is just there and finally once outside.

    To everyone:

Apparently, I discovered and corrected the problem that I had with 'Remote access' to my Media Hub.

Somehow, there are two configurations of router that had to be done.  On two port forwarding configurations has been necessary and once allowed me to access the media center.

It seems that my ISP has a 192.168.x.x address router that was different from the address of my router 192.168.x.x.  It is on the home router when I incoming and make changes to the information of port forwarding.  The fact that I was getting an error message indicating that I wasn't even reached my router alerted me to the fact that my ISP was blocking remote access.  In the end, that's where my problem was discovered.

    Translate:

If you have problems to access your media "at a distance" pole through its IP address (and not by the cisco media center), make sure that you configure the ports of the router specified by your Internet provider address, as well as the ports of the router that you have on your network home.

I have forwarded port 443 on the two addresses of router port, and I can now access my media hub remotely.  Now if I can't play videos remotely, I'll be set.  This leads to another problem that I'll send it in another thread.

Thanks for the help and suggestions of each.

  • Prerequisites for the IBM I access for Windows with Windows 8.1

I have several new computers with Windows 8.1 who need access to an AS400 via I Access for Windows.  I know that before this, I have to install 2 conditions (vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe) before the installation of Access for Windows.  I didn't know of these 2 conditions on Windows 8.0 installation problems, but I'm having a problem installing on Windows 8.1. • Problems with accessibility for people with low vision problems

The company I work, developing courses that are often made for people with a Visual acuity greater than 20/70. Thus, the requested solution was that courses should have a button that changes the size of the text, and the user can choose what size is better for him. The problem is that you can call a javascript function that makes Web sites, but the same features that make it, does nothing inside a captivate course. Due to the size of the land, there a lot of hard work to do 5 States of the text of a legend to each of these texts, because javascript are much more quickly and dynamically.

Someone at - he has worked with such a prior problem, which has a better solution?

No I have not met this particular query before.  But I think it probably means using Captivate would work in this case too.  With the exception of the course adapted and dynamic text that is generated from the inserted variables, most of the text within an release of Captivate gets transformed into images.  That is why the javascript function you mentioned earlier does not work.  There is no text to expand, only the images.

  • Remote Access Time capsule with windows 10 pc

Any suggestion wich port to set?

    Thank you

You will need a computer that uses AFP (Apple Filing Protocol) to access from a remote location Time Capsule.  Windows 10 does not have this feature, so you will not be able to use the time Capsule to access from a remote location using a PC.

Although it is not officially supported by Apple, you can usually access the time from an iPad Capsule using the navigation application.  The navigation instructions are there, and they do not work for me when I try this:

Unfortunately, you did * that *? Did you leave some calling that claimed to be from Microsoft on your computer. If so, the risk is very great. They may have installed malicious software, stolen passwords, etc.

I strongly recommend that you immediately reinstall Windows and change all your passords, particularly those of financial institutions, online shopping, etc.

  • Remote access VPN integration with RSA token

    Hello friends,

I currently have an ASA 5520 9.0 focusing distance french authenticated VPN access a Radius of the ACS server. I also have a server ACS Ganymede + allowing to authenticate access to network devices (routers, switches, etc.). My Manager asked me to include a second level of authentication through RSA token´s. Question´s:

    How does it work?

Can I use my ACS Ganymede + as a method of redundancy for authentication of the VPN´s in the case where my Radius server goes down?

I can use my ACS server RADIUS as a method for redundancy for managing my network devices in the case of authentication my Ganymede + server goes down?

In addition, the RSA token can be used to authenticate access to manage network devices?

    Any comments will be appreciated.

    Kind regards!

RSA has built in the radius server and itself it can serve as a factor of two.

using Token RSA server inside itself is two factor when you use a PIN and access code.

Using of Ganymede + for VPN is not possible.

Check with your administrator RSA for the integration steps.

Is that you can directly integrate the ASA with RSA and integrate with RSA ACS as well.

This way you have redundancy in the RSA server.

  • ISE 1.4 and access for guests with distinct SMS providers

Could someone please help with the installation of the guest access. I am trying to perform an establishing a unique SSID prompted with two central WISN and a pair of ISE 1.4 to manage a building containing different companies.  Installation work good with a sponsor (company) chooses just the customer who registered but at the end of the implementation the handover raised a question that left me speechless.  Every company wants to have their own account SMS provider. How can I configure so that the end-user location defines the SMS provider?

    Hello

There are 2 different stand-alone ise or there are members of the same deployment?

You can add gateways sms on the parameters of the ise. So if there are 2 different deployment, simply choose the sms gateway that you created in a configuration Portal comments.

If you have only 2 servers ise 1 deployment, you can create 2 comments portal on each one you set the right sms gateway.

If you have 1 deployment and have the same ssid comments:

-divide PSA between 2 companies using the AP group

-to the ise, you can use the defined strategy (simpler and more readable).

-According to the AP group, you can Portal popup comments 1 to 1 group AP and another portal of comments for another group of AP. In order to make this work, you need to change the type of id station call on the Security tab, on the wlc himself.

    hope this is clear.

If you have deployed MSE, you can set your rules and popup portal based on the physical location without the use of the AP group

  • Emergency situation! Looking for Remote App for editing with CS4

    Help!

I'm trying to find a remote software that will allow me to control a video editing of home computer and get videos on the internet. The computer, I'm trying to control is a Matrox Axio working under Windows Vista 64.  The editing software I use is Adobe Premiere Pro CS4.

So far, I tried to use Windows Desktop Connection and Radmin 3.4.  Both have been in vain.  I've been running problems with Audio and video.  I was not able to see all the videos on the connection with the exception of a few frames each now and then.  I was not able to hear any audio out of a Premiere Pro editing because all audio data first comes out of our Matrox Axio junction box THE.

My question is how can I get audio and video via a remote connection?  Anyone got recommendations for programs to use and if so did you use?  Is it all the same reduce the flow or the quality of the video in the first so he could be seen on the remote connection?  For audio, how would I route the audio out of the junction box so that he could be heard during connection remotely?  at the very least, I need to get this to work! With Radmin, I tried audio routing out of the Axio return junction box in the entrance of the computer's microphone.  Then select a voice chat hear audio but unfortunately it did not work.

Finally there are the Matrox solutions for the portable edition?  If I could have a laptop for home use work on projects with, so I could bring the project on the machine of Axio files to edit later.  I think it would work.  Anyone who has used a MX02 with a laptop running Windows Vista 64 bit or Windows 7 64 bit when using Adobe Premiere Pro CS4?  How does it work?

I need answers on this as soon as possible.

    Thank you!

It is a lost cause, IMO.

The only practical solution is to store your project as a whole and the media on an external drive or a switchable internal drive to and take the drive along. It may be better to use parameters for RA and bypass anything Matrox.

    Hello jamesfool

VMware has a secure server that you can put them in the DMZ, then you bind it with the display Manager (in the secure lan)

The secure server allows only RDP over SSL connections (443 or port you defined)

This step encompasses all types of additional licenses and worsk fine. The only question is who does not work with PCoIP.

    I hope I help.

    Hi mstablow,

As I find that WebEx does not work on 64 bit computers to present. They are working to solve the problem. For now, you can use any other free version of remote access software.
