Remote access PIX - two groups
Hi all
Please is it possible to distinguish two groups of remote access on the radius server?
For example, I have two groups. One for employees and secondly to externalist.
I authentificate the server a radius.
It is possible to distinguish between these two groups on the radius server?
How can I do this?
Because when I create two groups of tunnel and two political groups, I am still able to access the two groups with the users in the Group employee or externalist. And when I look for log on to the IAS server, I couldn't distinguish between the journal entry when I login as employee and when I log in as externalist :(
Thanks in advance
Tomas
Tomas,
OK, so we have 2 groups of tunnel and 2 group policies for groups of tunnel, here's what you have to do.
* First, we close group policy to groups of tunnel so that a single policy would not use the other tunnel-group. To achieve this, some examples of CLI commands
attributes global-tunnel-group test1
strategy-group-by default peche1
tunnel-group test2 General attributes
strategy-group-by default granted.2
attributes of the peche1 group policy
group-lock value test1
policy2 group policy attributes
group-lock value test2
* Now lets do the config on IAS. You should have 2 remote access policies separate created for your groups of 2 different windows in IAS, for example
Remote access policy x
If the Windows group matches "yourdomain\externalist".
Grant access
Remote access policy is
If the Windows group matches "yourdomain\employees".
Grant access
Now in the remote x access policy, click on edit profile > click on advanced > click Add. Choose the attribute "Class". This policy is for externalists and lets say we want to lock windows to the tunnel test1 group group. Then enter UO = Policy1 value in the attribute Class. It is the name of group policy that we have locked in tunnel-group test1
Follow the same path and get into UO = policy2 for remote access policy there, employees windows group.

Remote access VPN Client to PIX, DNS issue
Hi all. I searched on this, but I can't find my answer.
I set up a VPN connection to a PIX Firewall (running the version 8.0 (4)) for my business. The VPN connection works correctly, in that I can connect to it using my software (v 5.0.02.0090) Cisco VPN Client and ping servers/resources internal IP address. However, if I try to ping by host name, it does not resolve to an IP address. If I open a command prompt on my PC and type ipconfig/all, there are no DNS servers for my VPN, just for my normal Intel NIC adapter - I think I should have a DNS server listed under the map of VPN, right? Here is the relevant (I think) for the VPN config lines:
8.0 (4) version PIX
domain xx.xx
DNS lookup field inside
DNS server-group DefaultDNS
Server name 192.168.20.23

life 86400
tunnel-group ITGroup type remote access
tunnel-group ITGroup General attributes
address vpnpoolIT pool
Group-RADIUS authentication server
tunnel-group ITGroup ipsec-attributes
pre-shared-key *.
Am I missing? I can solve the DNS on the PIX itself requests.
All the info I can find online is for an older version of the PIX software which says that I should enter the vpngroup dns- IP address of the server command, but this command is not available in my version of the software.
Hello
To set a DNS server to be injected into the VPN clients when they connect, you can do the following:
This is the tunnel-group where lands the remote connection:
tunnel-group ITGroup type remote access
tunnel-group ITGroup General attributes
address vpnpoolIT pool
Group-RADIUS authentication server
tunnel-group ITGroup ipsec-attributes
pre-shared-key *.
For example, create a group policy:
internal VPN group policy
attributes of VPN group policyDNS value--> x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is the IP address of the DNS server
Then, apply the group policy for the Group of tunnel:
tunnel-group ITGroup General attributes
Group Policy - by default-VPN
It will be useful.
Federico.

Can someone please share your knowledge to help me find out why I'm not able to receive an IP address on the remote access VPN connection so that I can get an IP local pool DHCP?

Hello
1 - Please run these commands:
"crypto isakmp nat-traversal 30.
"crypto than dynamic-map SYSTEM_DEFAULT_CRYPTO_MAP 65535 Road opposite value.
The main issue here is that you have two roads floating and outside it has a better than backup metric, that's why I added the command 'reverse-road '.
Please let me know.
Thank you.

Hello Jose,.
I see that you use LOCAL authentication, what you can do is, you can create another political group and link this political group for the user name, example:
attributes of group PALLET policy
Split-tunnel-policy tunnelall
name of User1 user attributes
RANGE of VPN-group-policy
The other username will use hw_policy, since it is the default value for the tunnel-group hwclients.

authentication of remote access, vpn and ldap
I have a test environment with 2 hours fireval 5505: the first firewall is remote access VPN server and the Interior of this firewall is a network of domain with a domain controller, DNS server and a workstation. DHCP is disabled and the PC have a static address.outside of the VPN server is attached outside the other ASA 5505 firewall. on the inside of the firewall, there is a workstation.the workstation would be to connect via vpn for remote access on the domain network. I have configured the VPN server for remote access through a wizard and his
configuration is the following

Lost remote access to the internal network after upgarding PIX to 7.0
I improved our box of PIX 515E Cisco to release 6.3 7.0 (5) and lost connectivity outside of the internal servers through a VPN connection. Any ideas as to why or how this happened?
If you use the split tunneling, this is probably the question.
Is the bug id: CSCeh69389
This Bug says:
When you upgrade a PIX 6.x to 7.0, if split tunneling is underway
used for remote access clients, then the conversion of config
process will not convert the list of split tunnel command, because
the ACL of splitting 6.x tunnel was allowed to be of type 'expanded '.
whereas in 7.0 the ACL must be ' standard '.
To solve the problem, take the extended ACL and manually convert it to a
Standard ACL, specifying the networks you want encrypted. Times
the new ACL is in the config, it must be applied under the
Group Policy.
EX:
SplitTunnel list standard access allowed 10.1.1.0 255.255.255.0

Hello
Good evening everyone.
I had a problem in Routing and remote access on windows 2003 server. This server is already configured as a file server, domain server, and application server. Also configured as a router (thanks to access routing & remote) to connect the three different networks with each other. If this server has three NICs installed and each separate NIC network cards represent.
three different networks are - 192.42.160.0/24, 192.42.161.0/24, 192.42.162.0/24
Three cards of the NETWORK adapter installed on the server as with the IP - next
NIC - 1 = 192.42.160.220, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - No.
NIC - 2 = 192.42.161.220, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - 192.161.220.112 (this ip address for internet access then 4 g router IP)
-3 = 192.42.162.220, NETWORK cards, Sub - 255.255.255.0, gateway - No.
Now the question is I can get Internet & (also scathing in router ip 192.42.161.112) one network i.e. - 192.42.161.0/24, BUT when I try to access the internet from another two network (192.42.160.0/24 & 192.42.162.0/24) I can not access and in addition can not ping to internet router ip - 192.42.161.112...
So, how do I access the internet to another two network also?
I was already the configuration of static routing for all three network but I wasn't always successful. I don't really know what exactly static routing this should be done in access routing & remote area so that all three network can reach to the internet?
Here is the result of the current track...

Hello
Howmany vpn group is supported on asa 5520 with configuraion vpn remote access.
Concerning
1 if nat-control is disabled and you do not have any other order NAT in your config file, you do not have it. Try to remove the existing "NAT 0" command and "clear xlate."
2. you must ensure that your network inside know they can go by ASA to access remote vpn client IP. You have any device layer 3 behind the ASA that does the routing. If so, please verify that this is the routing table.

Remote access to PIX very slow
Using PuTTY to access PIX 501. The typed commands are slow to display. What is a function of high network activity? The above branch network is not very active. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Hello
You access the pix on its external interface via the Internet. So then Yes, it can be very slow. We manage some firewalls pix remotely via internet, and sometimes it can take ages to record key entries.
