Remote assistance - unable to connect to the desktop computer using the remote connection

Hello

I'm currently running vista Professional 64 bits for portable and desktop computers.

Problem:
-I am not able to connect to the desktop computer by using the remote connection.

Tried:
-Setup the remote asstance for the Username (account login) designated
-looked up the IP address
-entering the IP then username and password
Failed connection *.

Little Question, too:
-I run behind a router with 3 machines connected to the router, it would change my location from IP address? I think that's where I'm stuck at.

The following article should you guide through the process and solve your problems:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/116361-remote-assistance.html.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

  • Settings need to connect a second desktop computer using a NetGear wireless adapter.

    Original title: wireless settings

I need the settings to connect a second desktop computer using a NetGear wireless adapter.

The Belkin router work a lot using my Tablet and streaming movies but I can't understand

the settings on the second PC.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

"Settings", you need are the SSID (network name) and the encryption key (password).

Unless you have configured the router to 'hide' the SSID (generally a bad idea), you will see in the list of available wireless networks.  Then, the only thing you need is the encryption key.

If you do not write your encryption key, you can find it by logging into your router configuration utility.

If you have a computer running Windows can now connect to the router, open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK) and type "ipconfig" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.  Take note of the 'Default gateway' address.  It is the IP address of the router.

The default IP for Belkin routers is 192.168.2.1.

On a computer that is already connected to the router, open a browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox) and enter the IP address of the router (the gateway by default, you noted above or 192.168.2.1).  If you do not have a computer that is connected to the wireless router, you will need to temporarily connect a computer to the router by an Ethernet cable.

Connect to the router configuration utility.  If prompted for a password and you don't remember, you need to reset the router to its factory default.  Return ticket for additional instructions.

Once logged in, click on "Security" under "wireless" in the menu.  At this point, you should see a page that shows your password.  Write it down and exit the router configuration utility without making any changes.

For more help, post back with the model of your Belkin router and also mention if you have any Windows computer that can connect to the router (and if yes, what version of Windows they use).

  • lost and unable to recover password for desktop computer.

After my counter top crashed I went up on the back and restore the program to get it running again, the system is a windows vista and now on the getting started I wonder a password.  I have nevered had this request before and know that I have to have a password to open my computer for the last eight years. I received instruction to use a password disk, I have ever had to reset this mysterious password. Someone has encountered this and how do fix you this?

After reading a few suggestions on how to recover my password for the computer, I decided to launch the system recovery disc start. This action has restored the computer before you set up a password and I simply jumped the password option. Now I have access again and can go merrily on restroing my files. Thanks for the suggestions and helps them solve this problem.

    Hello

Temporarily disable the security software on both computers and check if it makes a difference.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.  In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Windows Media Center - not the initial download put in place data for guide "unable to connect to the remote server.

    Hello

Looking for help on this one...

I have a new install of windows 7 pro running, and I was not able to get the guide to download Windows Media Center.   I am up-to-date with all the updates and SP1 version running.   My video card drivers are also updated.

I use HDHOMERUN PRIME equipment with cablecard and who receives a TV signal very well and I am able to view it in WMC.    I use Verizon FIOS and my zip code is 07452.    Before this computer, I ran the cablecard even with a ceton infinitv and had no problem Guide at all.

It's just that I can't download the guide data.  Its just totally blank.   I receive the channels and view them, but there is NO data.      Whenever I run the TV setup the same question comes up.  Cannot download the initial configuration data due to the error of previous download.   As far as I know, there is NO error message when Windows installed... actually... I reinstalled windows completely and this has not solved the problem.    I tried to manually download the guide which did not help.   It... nothing happened when I turned 'on' and 'off' WMC in Control Panel to reinstall.  I even tried explore the ehome folder and remove the file db... but nothing is helping.

I can't find a file mcupdate.exe light on my system - don't know if this is relevant.   When I looked in the event viewer here are some of the error messages that I see.

  • Can't export virtual machines: unable to connect to the remote server

    Hello

I'm working on vSphere client 5.1 (vCenter Server 5.1). Trying to export a virtual machine for distribution model. When I go to file-> export the template OVF..., I get the following error message:

Can't export virtual machines: unable to connect to the remote server

Remote not sure what/who he is not able to connect to. If I connect vSphere Web Client and navigate to the same model (or all other models), under 'All the Actions of vCenter' I don't have an option to export to the model of the FVO. But if I use a VM machine instead of a virtual machine template, I have the ability to export to the OVF, but it is grayed out.

Am I missing any customer authorization or plugin for vShpere?

Discovered that vSphere server had some modifications made by HIM to resolve the violation POODLE. HE had to set the ip address of the machine where export OVF will be performed. Which allowed the connection to establish vsphere client and perform an export of the FVO.

  • Unable to connect to the MKS: the certificate of the remote host has these problems:

    Hello

We have a host of ESXi 4 cluster running any vSphere 4.1.  Recently, I started to upgrade to update 2 and all the additional fixes.  After the upgrade of the vCentre server to the latest version (or maybe before I can't noticed) an of are hosts began to show the following error whenever I tried to connect to the console of any guest on this host.

Unable to connect to the MKS: the certificate of the remote host has these problems:

It lists any problems at all and no error display in the event log that it simply does not work.  I had a prod around the internet and found nothing.  I then rebuilt the host to exclude and the problem remains.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    David

If you can connect to the Console remotely using VMware Infrastructure (VI) Client connected directly to the host, take a look at vmware KB to connect to a remote virtual machine fails with the error: the certificate of the remote host has these problems

but more generally - remove host to vCenter inventory and then add the host to the back, take a look at opening in the console of the virtual machine after a new installation of ESXi or ESX fails with the error: the host certificate chain is not complete and could not connect to the MKS: the certificate of the remote host has these problems

So I renamed the file to original and rebooted repeat services applies - this restore the data file and now the configuration state of the DG is normal.
    *********************************************************************************

Not quite sure if I'm still he hands the right way or if the error above is related to RMAN not able to synchronize with the physics of the day before.

The documentation I want to talk to is here (1 paragraph):

  • Here is the configuration I am unable to share a HP 3930 printer that is connected to a desktop computer Windows 7 64 - bit to a 32 bit Vista laptop

I enabled sharing the printer and I do not use password protected sharing.  I am able to open shared files from one computer to another.  But when I try to connect to the printer I get the following message "unable to connect to the printer. Make sure you typed the name correctly and the printer is connected to the network. "The printer is offline.  I plugged the printer two computers so that pilots would download and install. And in the number of firewall I have disabled them in order to try to get this working.

HP Support & drivers - go to the site Web and download/install the drivers and utilities for Vista 32 bit HP.

Share the printer on the Windows 7 computer. Go to the Vista machine, then install the drivers you downloaded. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers. If the regular installation does not see the printer:

Go to the Windows 7 machine. Note the name of the computer that you will get to the control panel > system > computer name. Now in the Panel, go to the printers. Find the printer in question, right-click, and then click Properties. Note the name of the share. Of course you must have already set up file sharing / print on all computers involved and share the printer.

Now go to the machine Vista, control panel > printers > add printer

Click Add a local printer. Click on create a new port. The default value in the drop-down list box is Local Port. Don't change that. Click Next. A dialog box appears for you request that you enter a port name. Type in the \\FullComputername\SharedPrintername

ex: \\mycomputer\HPDJ (that's why you wrote the names of computer and printer in the first step)

Click Next. In the manufacturers list, select the correct printer manufacturer and the correct printer model in the Printers list. Under "do you want to use this printer as default printer select"Yes"(if you do!). and click Next. When asked to print a test page, select 'Yes', then finish.

  • Whenever I connect to a remote connection, I get an error message "unable to connect to this Terminal Server session remote control"

Original title: unable to connect to this Terminal Server session remote control?

Whenever I work with my friendly by connecting remotely, this information is pop ups as follows:

Remote control cannot connect to this Terminal Server session. It is a known problem with Windows 2000 and XP and can occur under certain, rare conditions. To remady this situation, ask the local user switch to another session (connecting, on or off), or restart the computer.
I know it's something related to windows authentication. But want to know in detail about this notification.
