Remote Desktop connection logon

I was able to use the remote desktop of Windows XP Pro. I have a computer in my living room and the other in the kitchen.  I can access computers from the other room .  What don't get me, is when using the living room computer for remote access to the computer in the kitchen, kitchen computer disconnects.  It is same for the kitchen for remote access to the living room.  I saw a remote technical support remote access to a computer and you can see them manipulate the desktop computer.  How this happen?

They do not use the remote desktop connection for this - they use another form of support office automation tool.  There are several on the market that will do that.

Remote Desktop connection resumes work stations, as you have seen and disconnects any account that is active at a time.

  • My remote desktop connection will not register

Recently, my laptop crashed and I completely restored it to factory settings. I didn't use it much, but recently, my remote desktop connection did not work as I restored it. My school has a server where I can connect to the server, but it has not worked at all and says "the logon attempt has failed. I know it's just my phone because it works on the desktop...

    Hi Emily,.

I would say to contact your school TO verify what settings/connection information is necessary for configuring the desktop remotely.

  • Remote Desktop connection and file sharing

Hello, I have a technical question about file sharing.

I use a remote desktop connection to connect to the server of the company.  We are currently between the two groups of IT services (last guy retired, he will be missed!) In any case, I need to backup my desktop files locally and have 4 or 5 of these local desktop file files saved as a backup on the server.   I want to just my files desktop back mount easily on the server. And I don't know how / what to ask to do this. I just need to know what to ask.

    I'm having problems:

    1. I don't know how to configure a file to save its content on and through a secure server.

    2. There are two types of files that I am trying to backup my office.  The details are below.

    2. the first type of files are simple files of customer data, PDF files, word files, files is excellent. Thus, some records are filled with the updated forms and these files constantly increasing in number and size of the file.  A simple example of this type would be a Bill.  File grows in size and file number every week because the new files are always being added.

2B. I can't accurately describe the second type of file.  We use a program called TFP - when you open the program you load the specific customer file in a drop-down box.  Whenever you open the customer specific AMTS program saves any changes you made to this file and updates the customer file with a new date and then transfers the file from the client to a file from archive in C: drive. Basically, I want to save this file on the server of the company.

    3. can we make us safe so that data gets only shared a way?  I don't want people on the server to change my desktop files.

Feel free to ask any questions.   Thank you in advance.

  • I have a new server and you cannot use Remote Desktop connection.

I HAVE A NEW SERVER (HP ML110 G6) AND HAVE USED OLD HARD DISKS, BUT MY REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION WILL NOT ME OR OTHERS - WHAT COULD THE REASON BE?

    Hello

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

The problem can also be caused by your security such as anti-virus program or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall and check the result again. You must activate new security that you was disabled programs.
    Disable the antivirus software:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

May also need to do this on other computers as well.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Remote Desktop connection failed but successful ping

I am trying to connect via RDC (Remote Desktop Connection) of the SOURCE to the DESTINATION.

I welcomed the remote connections on the DESTINATION and added couple of users who are allowed to connect remotely.
I can ping DESTINATION SOURCE successfully.

None of the responses failed to control below SOURCE
    C:\ > ping-l 512 f - n 100

Strange thing is that I can remote login from DESTINATION to SOURCE, but not vice versa.

I don't remember making any additional settings to other machines that are connected to remote. Only one machine (the DESTINATION) to the question.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

    Thank you
    Biausse.

On the target computer, make sure that Port 3389 is not blocked by a firewall.  If you use Windows Firewall, go to the control panel Windows Firewall, check that "Don't allow Exceptions" is not checked in the "Général" tab, then click the 'Exceptions' tab and make sure there is a check mark next to "Remote Desktop".

You can also ensure that a program is to accept incoming remote desktop connections to raise a command prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd") and entering the following command:
    netstat - year |    find "3389.
If all goes well, you should see the following line returned:
    TCP 0.0.0.0:3389 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING

  • The preliminary version of remote desktop connection has expired.

The preliminary version of remote desktop connection has expired.  To download the full version of remote desktop connection, go to Windows Update or contact your system administrator (Please give me the solution for this problem)

There are several ways you can solve the problem:

You can copy the files from a Windows XP SP2 computer and then Windows Remote Desktop should work again.
    a. c:\windows\system32\mstscax.dll

    b. mstsc.exe

Copy the files in safe mode if not just windows will recreate the files even if you replace them or delete them

Or you can download an update from the Microsoft Download site and it will get your Remote Desktop works again.
Update for Windows XP (KB969084) - The Remote Desktop Connection 7.0 client update allows you to use the new remote desktop Services features.

Thank you N Syed, but I finally found a site that has responded to my question. Noted above, and it explains where and what file to find mstsc file and place it in the folder of the comm in VAC. However it gave me an error msg: specified file is not found. PAM handed the file system protected to system32 and instead, I created a shortcut on the desktop. and now, I'll check the link above.

Downloading and the ms support link is fine, but they do not explain where the file is located on your computer, it just says that it is loaded in your pc.

Appreciate your attempt anyway. Thank you and I am afraid that this question is closed.

    Please help me!

    Hello

I had a similar problem in the past and found that the problem started when I installed Log Me In on the host computer.

Has not solved the problem by removing only, I had to remove the Log Me In graphic card in Device Manager.

Conclusion, the graphics card in Device Manager must have one and only good driver. Re-install the driver can also help if you have only a list.

    Good luck!!
