Remote Desktop issues connecting from home to work the computer in Windows XP. Remote Desktop stops responding and eventually disconnects.

Just around the beginning of July (2011) I started to have remote Office questions when connecting from home to work. If I minimize the connection for a while and come back later, it will be often does not. I'll have to hit the close X button several times before, he ends by abruptly disconnects. By the sudden I want to say that I don't get no dialogue usual warning that the session will be disconnected.

Also, sometimes when I connect I get a white screen instead of a connection window.

Anyone know if there was a Windows Update, or anything that can cause problems with RDP.

I used to be able to connect perfectly without any problems.

Thank you

Open your bookmarks library, either through bookmarks - > show all bookmarks or Ctrl + Shift + B. In the top bar is a button named "import and backup". It will open a submenu of when you click "export bookmarks as HTML...". ». Save the file in your USB key.

Later once you reached the recipient's computer, go through the same thing again, but this time click "import bookmarks into HTML...". "& move towards the previously saved file.

Another method is to sync them. You can go to 'Tools-> Set Sync' to create the account. Then in the other system, just log in using the same account and everything is automatically updated. More information here.

    Hello

Please note that it may depend on the versions of Vista and Win 7 you have.

RTD connection consists on the client computer (the computer that initiates the connection) and a host (the computer on which the connection will too.

All versions of Windows can act as Clients.

    Can host only Vista/Win 7 Pro/ultimate/Ent.

Therefore, if you have the OS Home versions', you might be out of luck.

  • Remote Desktop connection: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit connects to the computer of Windows XP VPN

    Hi all

I am trying to establish remote desktop TO my new laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) on my computer (Windows XP) work via a VPN. The VPN Client connects to my network to work with no problems, but when I try to use the remote desktop connection I get an error message:

Remote Desktop cannot connect to the remote computer to one of the following reasons:

    (1) remote access to the server is not enabled

    (2) the remote computer is disabled

    (3) the remote computer is not available on the network

Make sure that the remote computer is on and connected to the network, and remote access is enabled.

Items 1-3 are working well, so I guess that the problem is caused by another issue?
    I'd appreciate any help.
    Thank you
    Lou
Thanks for your response Al. To answer your qus:
    (1) cisco VPN Client for 64 - bit.

    (2) I don't know how to ping through the VPN tunnel - I don't see this option, anywhere in the Cisco customer (I'm not a professional, just a user)
    (3) Yes. Also, I can connect to the host PC via my old laptop XP (xp) of fine House, just not my new laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium) so the problem must be with my new laptop rather than at the end of the host PC.

After that you connect through the VPN tunnel open a command window, IE. go in Start > run , then type cmdand type ping DRC-hostname or IP-address-DRC ping.

    Examples:

    Ping lou - pc

    ping 192.168.1.25

FWIW, I have a desktop computer home wireless Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit on my LAN that connects fine to a XP Pro SP3 32-bit Wired test machine using [DRC] remote desktop. Now XP Pro SP3 DRC test machine is configured for a static IP address and I have manually configured the network mask, gateway, DNS resolves and made sure that NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled in the properties of the NETWORK Ethernet card on the test computer.

Just for fun, I checked the hashes of file for the file mstsc.exe on the Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit machine and a machine Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit I have and hashes were a bit different as the size of the files. The versions of the files are the same though. I assume that the difference is because we're 64-bit to 32...

  • 9.2 IOS on iPhone 6 and iPad does connect to home WiFi, works Mac very well!

    Greetings to all!

I have problems with the Wi - fi home my two phones iPhone 6. It is the same for the iPad Mini. At the same time there is no problem with my Mac, my PS4 and my Sony TV. All devices except those using iOS to freely connect to home wi - fi.

I have read several articles and does everything that people suggested to be useful. Not for me, as a matter of fact. There is the list:

    -Reboot of the router

    Reset Wi - fi free

    -Forget the wi - fi

    -Added the "8.8.8.8" DNS manually

    -Switch on the flight mode

-Reboot manual (House + unlock buttons press)

    More details:

-Wi - Fi is visible, iOS devices recognize the network and easily connect to it, however, no of applications connect to the Internet, nothing can be regenerated and downloaded.

-Wi - Fi mode is mixed 11bgn, the channel - channel automatic number - width, automatic.

-Fashionable - WP2 - PSK, security - AES encryption mode.

-J' have a Wi - Fi extender device that uses the same network with SSID different. IOS devices "don't know" this second network.

    Then, the problem... Help, please

Try to temporarily remove the security on the network. The devices work when the network is completely open?

Check to see if there are updates available for the router firmware. There may be a problem of basic compatibility between the router and the iOS devices.

  • How can I remove a connection from network Local to my computer?

I have a connection to local network on my computer (XP Service Pack 3 operating system).  I had this connection turned off for awhile and I also removed the ICON on the desktop for this connection.  For many months, I noticed in the Log Viewer/system event I had a DCOM error every morning when I started my computer.  Sometimes, the computer may pause for a few seconds, the screen would go black, and the system should restart automatically--normally.  I would check the log Event Viewer/system and the DCOM error was there.  At other times, the system should boot normally until he got to the window where I select user or administrator - at this time there, the mouse would be frozen in its tracks.  A restart (by cutting the power supply to the computer) would all walk normally again.  Another check of the event log and the DCOM error occurred once more here.  I have to admit that the problems I identified here are rare visitors to my computer (no more than once or twice a week), but they are of course annoying.  So, I believe that this connection to the unused LAN is at the root of my problem.  Then I decided to activate the LAN connection, restart my computer and see if the DCOM error occurred when starting - no error has been found.  Has it done for me, I decided that the unused LAN connection must go.  I, however, have not found the magical instructions for how to remove the connection to the local network.  I read an article that told me the Device Manager where it should be delete this connection.  So I made a visit to the Device Manager and found the connection LAN listed there - I'm not sure this is the right thing to do.  I also made a visit to the network connections and clicked on the unwanted local network connection - I found that delete is dimmed.  I just seem to be lost as to how to make this connection to the local network to go.  Can someone give me help in this task?  Any help sent my way would be greatly appreciated.

It is a sequel to my last post.  I decided, after that no response was forthcoming to this message, follow the instructions that I have included in this post more soon to try to remove the connection to the local network unwanted from my computer.  FYI, this set of instructions worked perfectly and I have over this connection to the LAN on my system.  I hope that this information will be useful to others you want to remove a local network of their Windows XP Pro SP3 system connection.
