  This would happen if there is a corruption of Winsock on the computer. I suggest that you reset the default Winsock settings and check if it helps.

On each homegroup computer, do this: 1) go to control configuration\reseau and Internet\Network and sharing 2) on the left, click on 'Advanced sharing settings change' 3) scroll down until you see 'HomeGroup connections' section 4) make sure that the "Allow windows to manage the homegroup connections" option is checked.   Having problems connecting to the PC of Office WORK PC using remote desktop.  Currently, I connect to the WORK PC to WORK laptop with no problems.
