Make sure your user name and the domain is correct. Passwords are case sensitive,"I have NO idea what that means and how to fix it. Business at the stop... I use windows XP.  The username and password are always exactly the same thing I restarted the two machines, still no luck

  • Remote Desktop having problems connecting Surface RT to Win 8 portable Pro (new installation)

    Remote Desktop/RemoteApp problems

I was not able to connect outside of the network.

I sprung several days trying to solve this problem by myself, then on the phone with Microsoft productivity, and some of them aren't yet familiar with Surface RT. So with the RD in network connection is quite simple and effective, I hope some people here can confirm that they have the same problems or possible solutions.

As I see it, there are 3 interfaces where we can connect to RD on the Surface RT: Pre-installe Remote Desktop Office found via scanning and research, the metro downloadable RemoteApp and desktop remotely via the control panel).

I see where ping command is executed on the computer and port 3389 is open and oriented to the laptop, so I will state the problems I see with each when I try to log on a Windows 8:

    (1) pre-installed RD:

It's great and the name of your computer is there for you and connected to your account and network ready. You have options like "Connect and don't warn me if server authentication fails" I think has helped many people on Windows Server with certificate problems.

Off-grid on Surface RT, however, you get «Remote desktop cannot find the computer _.» This may mean that '_' does not belong to the specified network. Check the computer name and the domain you are trying to connect to."

    (2) metro UI:

It seems to do a ping the computer more quickly when you put: 3389 at the end of your IP address. However, no success after having tried with and without the end of the port. The messages I get are...

    RemoteApp 3):

This is the solution I've seen in most tutorials,... but the reason given for not connecting, it is "the remote computer cannot be authenticated due to problems with its security certificate."

Instead of the option to bypass (which option 1 gives you), there is no other choice, and he says "Windows is unable to continue setting up this connection. Contact the administrator of your workplace. »

This message made me to learn more about the certificates that I always wanted to know. I tried to start MMC and ensuring that the cert listed in Remote Desktop has been copied to the folders of the confidence of the authorities certificate root (duplex as certificates on the local computer). I tried different combinations and did not really anywhere.

If someone connects via #3, please post care on your certificate if you can find it.

Any help on getting one of these methods to work is appreciated. It puts naked repeat that port 3389 is listed as open on my home network, the traffic is transferred to the correct PC and all firewalls are disabled until I can solve this problem.

  • Remote Desktop printing problems

I am connected to a client computer from my desktop via the remote desktop connection.  I'm unable to print on the correct printer in my office from the client computer.  I've correctly selected the "Printers" checkbox on the tab Options/Local resources before opening the Office remotely.

I have several printers connected to my desktop computer; my HP Laserjet 4050 printer is the default printer selected.  A printer called 'Lacerte pdf' is also a desktop printer that is used by my tax software to print pdf files.  This Lacerte pdf printer is NOT selected as the default printer.

My office printer 'Lacerte pdf' appears on the desktop of the remote client (as well as the printer of the client) as a selection of the printer.  My desktop HP 4050 printer does not appear as a choice on the desktop of the remote client.  I can't print my desktop printer "Lacerte pdf" the client remote desktop because this printer selection is used only inside the Lacerte program.  The Lacerte program is not installed on the remote computer.

I used the desktop connection distance and printing features of hundreds of times over the years and have always been able to print on my printer HP desktop of the remote computer.  I'm very comfortable with the process and confident that I have correctly set up the printer before you log on to the remote computer.

    Hello

It would be advisable to contact your system administrator.

Apart from that, you can try to install the latest drivers for printers.

I tried to disable the firewall on both computers with no positive results. My DRC telling me that it cannot connect.
Can someone give any idea why this computer refuses to connect? Y at - it no service apart from the DRC services that should be running and can I get a list and try to restart their? • How can I use remote desktop to control my PC at home from my Surface?

I tried searching for an answer, but all the "tutorials" are non-specific in the one area that I do not understand.

I want to do is be able to use my tablet of Microsoft Surface of anywhere I have internet and use it to control my PC in Windows 8. Which doesn't seem to be the object of the Remote Desktop application, correct? Now, I have enabled Remote Desktop connections in Control Panel and have the application installed on my surface and they both use the same Live ID, but the next step listed is just 'type the name or IP address of the computer"and none of these tutorials explain how to know exactly what one of these things is. I tried to get the name I gave the computer, which also appeared on the window that I learned to remote connection settings, but nothing happened, and to be honest I don't know why he would do. There are a large number of computers on the internet and I don't see anything that would prevent me to a share with a different device name. On the other hand, rather too many results the app can't find.

I thought then that I would try an IP address, but for some reason whatismyip.com said he did not know. It's probably something on the router and maybe the reason why the previous attempt failed, but I don't have control of the router, so if that's the case then I need an alternative.

I'll also accept other software that would make it easier, let's just connect from these two devices and selecting from a list, but I have to be able to be controlled from a device Windows RT (I don't need to go the other way, and I do not think that that is supported anyway). Feel free to just suggest something even if you don't know it will work around the problem, it is not necessarily reproducible on your system, so the only way to know is to try it.

    Have you seen this page?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Remote-Desktop-connection-frequently-asked-questions

There are solutions for remote desktop connection problems. You do not want to enter the computer name or IP address.

To find the IP address of your PC - open the charm of search and type cmd. Tap the command-line results of research. At the command prompt, type ipconfig and press ENTER. Find your network connection and note the default gateway address.

    Hope this helps,

  • Problems with the work computer remote desktop connection

I used the remote desktop for VPN connections to work for a few years.  My new employer has a Sonic Wall VPN.  My home PC is running XP.  The work computer is Windows 7.  I activated the remote on this computer connectivity.  I can connect to the VPN with a number.  Remote Desktop detects the computer to work without problems as well.  When I try to signon with my valid credentials, I get a message that my ID or password is invalid.  By using the same credentials locally everything works perfectly.  I tried to connect with my user disconnected and connected in the workplace with no difference in results.  Any thoughts there?

I use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to my Windows 7 PC to computers with Windows XP employees. To do this, I need to put the credentials of the computer XP (name of login and password). • Remote Desktop Connect (wrong username or password)

I have a question really frustrating trying to connect to my machine via Remote Desktop (Win7) House (Win8) work. I am able to connect to the machine, but it shows me the message "the user name or password is incorrect. Try again ' on the login screen of the remote computer. I know that the username and password are correct, I am able to use the same credentials for remote access to the machine with the remote desktop application of Chrome.

It's only for this domain account that I have a problem. I have implemented a test on the machine account and can't seem to connect with no problem. I am also able to connect the machine to a colleague (Win7) using my domain account.

After the newspaper had failed-ins, the event on the remote computer log shows why a log-in and immediate success and then disconnect, without any explanation. All journal entries are marked "audit success". In addition, the login box that appears on the remote desktop application on my PC at home (as opposed to the display of connection on the remote computer itself) will tell me that I can not log on if I type the name of user and password wrong, but let me to the login screen of the remote computer if I understand well (showing the name of username/password incorrect message).

The domain account is an administrator on the remote computer. I also tried adding it explicitly to the remote desktop users.

Another point to add is that it worked until today ' today, but only when I had turned off the Windows Firewall (when turned on I couldn't even at the stage of connection). HE obviously didn't like this, so they turned on firewall and changed a few settings (I've since tried to change back with no joy).

The other thing that may or may not be relevant is, I connect to the computer through a VPN.

If someone had a similar problem, or have thoughts on what could be the problem here?

  • With or without password for remote desktop connection

    Hi all ^_^

I've got a trick (win 7) & PC (win el maestro)
I am the only 1 using the tower and the PC for all, after that I created a password for the PC, I tried to log in it in the round using desktop connection remote and it worked, but now I connect the lab PC's get connected f and when I write the password in the computer to connect to the connection in the laboratory is an error or something like that!
but now I removed the password until I have find a way to connect without having this problem
can you help me with this?
I read things on empty passwords and security policy and other things, it's about connecting a computer without password
can you help me with this?
I need the boring explanation if you can
    Thank you

    Hello

You can do this, but I do NOT recommend it because in this case if someone has your IP address then could access your windows by using remote desktop. And people could use find find IP of random generator and when there is NO password can access. so please use password and the password to connect.

However, you can configure the setting to connect with empty password:

    1) go to control panel

    2 Administrative Tools)

look 3) to the local security policy

    (4) open and look for security options

    (5) then in account you will see something like "limit local account use of the empty password for console logon only

    (6) try to disable it and reboot your PC

It should work, but as I said, it could put your PC in DANGER.

By design remote desktop requires a password to connect safety precaution. The Remote Desktop user ID and password are the on the computer you want to access and control remote. The user ID must be an administrator or be a member of the remote desktop users group.

If you need create a password for the user ID you want to connect with the help of office remotely.

Computer on which is the host of remote desktop, IE. the computer you want to access remote/control? It is not clear from your description, although I assume it is the office.
