Remote device does not accept the connection since W7 re - install.

Since then reinstall it W7 Pro, I'm now no longer able to map a network drive on a NAS on the network. The NAS device is visible to all other domestic uses (Sonos, Internet TV, etc) and can be accessed via the front view in a web browser without any problem. I can PING the device and don't get a response, so no problems with the device itself (which was untouched before, during or after re-setup of W7).

Just cannot map a network drive!

Tried to disable the firewall etc, but still no luck. Also checked that all relevant services are running.

Someone has ideas that more I can do to get my laptop to talk to it as a network drive?

When I enter the ip address of the NAS and click 'Finish' to the card, I get the following dialogue:

The remote device or resource does not accept the connection
The device or resource to 192.168.x.xxx is not configured to accept connections on port 'file sharing and printers (SMB).

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Original title: Troubleshooting my my wireless conecction and it say the remote device or resource does not accept the connection

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community. This problem can occur because of incorrect settings of Internet Explorer. Initially, make sure you have Internet Explorer as web browser by default on the computer, refer to this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-default-programs#1TC=windows-7

Research I found that this problem can be solved by resetting the Internet Explorer settings. Try the following steps:

    1. Press the logo Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.

    2. Type inetcpl.cpl in the Run dialog box, press enter.

    3. Now click on the Advanced tab , and then click reset.

    4. Click apply , then ok.

Note: Resetting Internet Explorer settings is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and cannot be recovered.

  • remote device does not accept the connection___

Windows 7 does not accept the connection for my site, but Xp will be, what is different about 7?

    Hello alanep,

    ·         Could you please tell us what is the remote device you are trying to access?

    ·         What version of Windows 7 is installed on your computer?

    ·         You try to connect to a remote device with Internet Explorer?

    ·         What happens when you try to connect to the remote device, you get errors?

You can check if you have the same behavior in mode no. Add-on.

    1. click on tools on the toolbar Internet Explorer and then click on Manage Add-ons.

    2. click the name of the add-on at the top of the list of the toolbars and Extensions, and then click on disable.

    3. click on close and then test Internet Explorer.

    4. If the problem persists, open Manage Add-ons, enable the add-on that you disabled in step 2 and repeat the steps 1 to 3 for the next add-on in the list toolbars and Extensions.

    5. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until the problem is resolved or until all modules have been tested.

  • remote device does not accept connections is the error that I also get what is a proxy?

There are some sites that I can't connect to Internet, I get remote device will not accept the connection and check the proxy. I don't know how to solve this problem, I don't know what is a remote device, and I don't know if I have a proxy. Please help, I work on surveys and freelancing and you need to get to my sites. I thank very you much for any help you can give me.

This just sounds like your Internet is cut, not a Firefox problem.

But I'd still Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  • Connection problem diagnosis - "the remote device or resource does not accept the connection detected.

My computer is a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. The problem occurred about 2 months ago, while he was still in Vista, but please note that I've upgraded to Windows 7 last night and the problem is always the same.

My Internet Explorer, updates to the computer, iTunes and everything, EXCEPT my AOL, does not work. My connection says 'excellent '. (Hang everything on my laptop to my wireless are works fine, that my office is having this problem)
When I click on Internet Explorer, it says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", and when I click on "analyze the connection problem" said "problems discovered - the remote device or resource does not accept the connection detected.
I talked to my internet provider Comcast all morning this problem: she said that his side internet connections work properly. She walked through me steps including reconnected the router cords, control the way in which the Internet is put in place and other things, but everything was how it was supposed to be. She suggested that maybe AOL could be the problem and to remove it because I used it, so I did, but nothing has changed. So then she told me to contact Windows... (not sure how to call technical Windows supports without having to pay $59?, but found this forum)
Is anyone familiar with this problem and could you please help or at least point me in the right direction?
In addition, please let me know if you need any other information on the problem.
    Thank you

  • The remote device or resource does not accept the connection

I have a desktop computer Windows 7 connected to my router via an ethernet cable, but when I try to go to a website on Google Chrome as Google.ca, loading the page forever without even showing the page. Finally after a long wait, it finally says that the Web page is not available. I tried to go to the Web sites by using Internet Explorer, but occurs the same result. I tried to troubleshoot the problem and it "the remote device or resource does not accept the connection" is detected, but does not set automatically. I have a wireless printer connected to my router which is online and works very well. I can even connect to my router page. But still no access to Web pages don't like my outlook.com and etc. Sometimes a go open the network and sharing Center to change the settings of the card and disable the wired ethernet only to activate it again. It works only a few times, and it's really frustrating, because it is the only computer that does not connect to the internet, even with a ethernet cable. Please find a solution as soon as possible. Thank you.

  • The remote device or resource does not accept the connection detected

I have a computer that cannot connect to the internet. It is connected to a LAN line through a switch that has another computer on it. The other computer works fine. The computer in question says it is connected but when I try to open IE I get the unable to load the page.  Outlook also connects and the computer does not connect to our domain controller. When I run the windows diognostic, I get the error "the remote device or resource accepts the connection detected.  I was looking on the forums and tried everything I found. I have reset the settings of Internet Explorer and unchecked the proxy server box.  I tried to replace the switch and the CAT5, even if the other computer on the switch works fine, so it isn't a problem with the hardware. I'm out of ideas.

The computer is running windows 7 and IE 9.

After the form of Vista to Windows 7, the office is connected to the network but cannot connect to the internet. All firewalls are disabled. The other pc on the network works well. I get the message "the remote device or resource accepts the connection.

There's a way easier than Cody (do not hit you m8, but sometimes things can be simpler)

Click on start/Control Panel/internet options/connections/LAN. Most likely your proxy is checked. Uncheck it and then reopen internet Explorer. Sounds like your proxy settings are on. I hope this helps.

Hello! I'm hoping to get clarification on the issue, I'll have.

So, I restored my Toshiba PC to its factory for another question settings, I tried to solve. Now when I connect to my network (which is fully functional on other computers, you mind) it says it is connected, but every time I try to go to a browser through the wireless, it says "this page cannot be displayed", the URL has no importance. I searched for hours all the different suggestions and none of them does not seem to work. When I plug the Ethernet cable, it does not work.
