Removal of Windows 8, Windows 7 installation

I have a HP Pavilion 23 B320 all in an office that's installed with Windows 8.

I really don't care for Windows 8 and would like to install Windows 7.  Anyone with any advice?

Thank you.

Hello:

There is no related HP PC with W7 drivers, so you should visit all of the hardware component manufacturer's websites to see if W7 64-bit drivers are available.

There is no will to guarantee W7 work 100% on your model.

If you want to have a go at it, first do your W8 recovery media set by reading the info on the link below.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

Then you need to change some settings in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7 x 64 on your PC.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03659945

After graduating installed W7, these are the drivers who I think should work on your model.

First, install the amd chipset driver and restart. You want the first file on the Web page.

http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7-64

Then, install the graphics driver and restart.

Ethernet: Download and install the second on the list.

  • Windows 10 installs using bootcamp

Hello everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm at my wits end. First off I have a MBP mid 2015 with the i7 2.8, 16 GB ram, 1 TB SSD and so on. Ten days ago I performed regular updates in windows 10. When it has restarted, or attempted, restart failed and he was stuck in a loop, partially restart, partially install updates and then try to come back, close and so on.
After enough time, I simply deleted this partition and to install again. No matter what I do, I can't get windows to install 10. I downloaded windows 10 to 64-bit windows and saved ISO on my drive. Follow the directions in the training camp in the letter. When the system restarts in the windows installer, I follow the directions. In the screen that asks you the partition, I select the bootcamp partition, and then select format. No options are given, rather it works for a while then the NEXT one is available. I click on it I get an error saying that WINDOWS cannot NOT INSTALL, CHECK the FILES NEWSPAPERS INSTALLER or something like that. No error code is given.

I go back to a single partition and try again. This has been done several times. I delete the partition and let the Setup program create a new partition, no luck. I erase the entire disk and put a new clean copy of Mac OS x and try again, same thing. I update for SIERRA, same thing. No matter what I do, I can not setup to go. I even downloaded a second copy of windows and tried a new way of thinking of ISO there is a corrupt file, no luck. I called apple, some time passes, and they suggested that I should talk to the windows support.
So I chat with windows help. not 2 minutes they suggest in that I find a local computer at my expense to solve this problem.

So I hang up, call apple. We go through complete diagnosis and even once, I was informed to call windows.
Second attempt to windows and 1 minute they tell me to go buy a dedicated computer windows because they cannot support it. Has anyone seen this? Any help would be great.
Still, all worked well until this recent update of windows.

Thanks for your time and your suggestions.

  • Ins work ' t Windows Modules Installer

I tried to install Service pack 1, it failed due to an 0x800f0826 error.

I discovered that the Windows Modules Installer, which is required for installation, appearently doesn't work.
It is not listed in Control Panel > Administration > Services.

I tried running sfc/scannow in cmd high, and it does not work.

The TrustedInstaller file which is IS located in the maintenance folder in Windows, but I can't seem to run.

I also tried to download a registry Fix TrustedInstaller, but it does not help. I tried this solution with PsTools and the file psexec - no difference.

Also, I also tried to copy another TrustedInstaller in maintenance records, but that makes no difference either.

I really need help here. Is it possible to get the installer of Modules of Windows to work? Download a new version of the installer of Modules if it is corrupted? My computer is not shipped with a CD/DVD of Vista, so I can't run a Vista repair.

Note: When you reinstall Vista, the free trial Norton will be also reinstalled (but invalid). You MUST uninstall it, and then rerun the removal tool Norton BEFORE installing a replacement AV app (e.g., F-Secure).

NB: If your computer came with a set of disks, there is a hidden partition restore (not to be confused with the restoration of the system) you can use to do the clean install. Contact the OEM manufacturer with this.

  • Where can I get a copy of the Windows XP installation for my sister. His was a virus and I had to format the drive. It's a registered computer

Where can I get a copy of the Windows XP installation for my sister. His was a virus and I had to format the drive. It's a registered computer. I have it ready for the operating system but I need to download a copy so I can retrieve my CD-ROM/DVD-Rom drive, so I can then bring to its system and reinstall the XP and then if she wants that we can get a windows 8. I use windows 8 on this system, I bought a few months ago and it's satisfying, but I don't understand why when I got it I could do things like using the keyboard of the screen with my fingers, but now I can't even use the keyboard mouse. It won't work at all. In a way I found it better that way at the beginning because I do a lot of typing and it would freeze until I was constantly stressed. I returned to Windows 7 mode I think but not sure.  All I know is that these two things have never worked correctly, so if they are still under warranty I will bring to the Future Shop and maybe they can fix it. I wish I could turn on and off easily so it does not interfere with my writing and study of a language second.

  • I can't add a component from the Add Remove program window as says could not initialize winxp

I can't add a component from the Add Remove program window as says could not initialize winxp

My victory is xp professional ver 2002 service pack 3

It's usually easy to fix, but if you removed all the dll and inf files, you can have a bunch of other problems that you have not yet discovered.

If you mean when you try to use Add/Remove Windows components you see a message like this:

Install was not able to load the master file.
The application could not be initialized.

This happens because this file is missing:

    c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf

There is no copy backup of this file on your system and run the System File Checker will not replace the missing file (sorry, that Microsoft committed Support Engineer 'experts').

You will need to get a real copy of your XP bootable installation CD or from a reliable source.

There's a copy on my SkyDrive, you can download - here's how:

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, put a copy of the file in this folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\Inf

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file named sysoc when the name of the file should really be called sysoc.inf (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You must then copy and paste the downloaded folder appropriate on your system.

    Hello

The best way is to clean install and start over.

In addition, it is not legal to have both installed version that the license is for a single installation.

If it is a dual boot with 32 bit and 64 bit installed on different partitions, there would not have been the conflicts you would have never started in one or the other.

    See you soon.

  • Can I safely remove the Windows.old files?

What's up guys?, I have a Compaq Presario supplied with the Windows Vista operating system, 32-bit. I backed up all my drivers on DVD and I downloaded a clean copy of Vista using an ISO on a DVD burner. I reinstalled the new copy put in my original product key, and he agreed. I reinstalled my drivers and all seems to work fine. I transferred all my data, mp3, jpeg, etc. for Flash readers and/or new programs on the new OS. The reason for the new OS was a virus infection which partially damaged the registry.  I really want to keep these files in the system for obvious reasons. Can I safely delete the files "Windows.old" and what would be the best way to do it?

    Hello

Some error messages I get are "host process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed" and "Windows Modules install Stopped Working and was closed."

It didn't happen until three weeks ago, when I did a system restore.

I searched the internet for a while now and can't find anything.

Thanks I hope you can help,

    Hi Michael2017,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. When you receive the error message?

    3. are you able to install updates on the computer?

Windows Module installation service are the two basic services responsible for all your updates installed correctly. Windows Module Installer service enables installation, modification, and removal of Windows updates and optional components. If the Windows Installer of Module service is disabled, install or uninstall windows updates may fail.

Check and make sure the installation Module of Windows service is running on the computer

    (a) click Start; in the start search type services.msc and press ENTER.

    (b) ensure that the installation of Module Windows Service is running and the startup type must be handwritten.

    I hope this helps!

  • How to remove a windows boot option?

Hi, when I start my computer I gives me an option of x 2 Windows 7 startup options. But I don't have Windows installed on my computer on drive c. drive D is empty. I tried disk cleanup, and there is nothing to clean up. I lived on C drive and there is no other option window. Even when I insert the Windows CD installation at boot only 1 Windows installation shows so I don't know why I have an option of x 2 Windows at startup? I tried to click the other option, and an error shows and returns me to the choice of 2 facilities once again.

To manually remove an entry in the Windows Start menu:

Type MSCONFIG in the box files and research programs of Windows 7, then press the Enter key.  When the System Configuration window opens, click on the Startup tab, click the entry you want to delete, and then click Remove, and then click the button apply.

When you are unable to manually remove a boot entry, you can use EasyBCD to modify the start menu in Windows 7, it allows you to edit the startup entries.

If you have downloaded Windows 7 and it burned a DVD test burn again at the slowest speed possible. It is also possible the download may have errors, you can try to download it again.

If you have several hard drives remove all except the one that you install Windows 7, and then replace it after Windows 7 is installed.

Disconnect all external devices except the keyboard and mouse before installing.

Windows 7 installation disc does not

Just a few troubleshooting steps to see if the drive is bad or if the DVD player is bad:

If you have another DVD player available try to use this drive in your computer instead.

If you have another computer available, try the disc of Windows 7 by using this computer and see if it can read the disc, or if the disc cannot be read and is bad.

In addition, if you purchased the retail version of Windows 7 try to put in the other disk of type bit of the Windows 7 disc and see if it works properly.

Windows 7 came preloaded on your computer?

    If so, try the following:

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

    -------------------------

If Windows 7 is not preinstalled on your computer.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:

The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.

(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

No need to worry, we're here to help you and guide you in the right direction.

The windows.old folder is the old system files. Be sure to copy all the files that you can out of the Windows.old folder before you delete it. Once deleted, they are gone. You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do the steps.

The Windows.old folder contains the following folders:

    • Windows
    • "Documents and Settings".
    • "Program Files."

The Windows folder stores mainly programs and files that are required to run the previous version of Windows.

The "Documents and Settings" folder stores mainly the 'My Documents' folder and the Favorites folder. In addition, the "Documents and Settings" folder stores the office files that have been used by the previous version of Windows.

The "Program Files" folder stores mainly programs have been installed on the earlier version of Windows.

There are two ways to delete the windows.old folder. Here is the simple step.

Method 1: Delete the C drive.

    (a) open Windows Explorer, click computer.

    (b) select C drive and you will find the Windows.old folder.

    (c) make a right click on the folder and click Remove.

Method 2: Remove the "Windows.old" folder using disk cleanup

    (a) open Disk Cleanup by clicking on the button Windows + C to open the bar of charms. Click on the charm of the Search .

    (b) type cleanmgr in Search Applications box in the right pane, and then click cleanmgr.exe (disk cleanup) in the left pane to open it.

    (c) If you are prompted to choose a drive, click the drive that you have just installed Windows on and then click OK.

    (d) in the Disk Cleanup dialog box, on the Disk Cleanup tab, click clean up system files.

    (e) If you are again prompted to choose a drive, click the drive that you have just installed Windows on and then click OK.

    (f) select the Previous Windows installations check box and the other check boxes for files that you want to remove, and then click OK.

    (g) in the message that appears, click delete files.

Let us know the status of the issue. If you need help, I'll be more than happy to help you.
