The links above will help on Flash Drive/Memory stick.

When you are finished copying your files > right click on them in the Documents, etc. > delete them > and then empty the trash.

Then run Heidi eraser to erase the traces of your files "deleted":

After you save your data, you would be much better to a resumption of the proceedings to factory settings (how you bought):

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

See you soon.

    Thanks for help

    Hello Jeff,.

Thank you very much for your reply, I use windows 8.1! I found the problem: to install the new version installation needs the program old installation (but I have remove all the installer, because they use a place a lot on hard drive (SSD)).

I have uninstall all Adobe and reinstalled, I save the full installer on an external drive. When the installer asked the former installer I indicate to programm my drive external and everything works fine now.

Thanks so much for your help, I just do not delete the old file (sad having to save old installler just to install the new).

  • How to remove all corrupted files and Roxio?

New problem since the last automatic download of an update to my Windows Vista:

On Windows Vista, whenever I start a program, I get the error message ' (programname) .exe - damaged file. " The file or the directory c:\program files\common Roxio shared is damaged and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility. »

I have run checkdisk repeatedly, but always the same error message every time that any program starts.

I tried to uninstall all the subprogrammes of Roxio in this folder, but the "uninstall" program would not do that.

I also tried to reinstall Roxio of CD disc programs and Vista wouldn't let me do it anymore.

My other programs all work perfectly, so I take it that it is not the executable file for these various programs that is corrupt, only the one Roxio.

The MacAfee program tells me that I have no virus it can see.

How can I remove this corrupt file/folder? Or at least stop getting this error message?

  • Why, when my laptop installed new updates I lost all my files and information?

My laptop was working fine yesterday, or at least the last time I got on this morning when I turn it on it started to install the new updates and when the computer came, I had lost all my information.

    Hello

    1. the files or information are you referring to?

    2. where they have been stored?

    3. what day do you have installed?

Step 1: Try to search these files using the windows search and check if you can find them.

Step 2: Alternatively, you can try to perform the audit and system restore if you can find them.

  • Uninstall will remove all new files and folders.

If the user decides to uninstall my Air application, it does not remove folders created with files in AppData. Another problem is that if the application creates new files in the folder Program Files/AirAppFolder, then uninstall the app are not deleted these files.

How to solve these problems, help please?

    Hello

AIR should not create additional files in your folder program files, it's something you're doing programmatically?  If so, you can consider using File.applicationStorageDirectory instead due to permission issues, you will have on the newer operating systems.

As for uninstalling all files (even), this is something you can consider using a native installer to take care.  Installer AIR not being aware of these data, it won't know of to remove on uninstall.  Instead, you'll want to create a custom function in a native installer that removes these files/folders and sub launches AIR installation/uninstallation.

    Thank you

You mean that other users do not have their own user accounts?
They all connect to your own account?

If they all have their own user account to log on, they can't see your personal files, unless...
    1. your files in public folders.
    2. they have your password to login to your own account.

    So, please clarify.

  • Update Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to professional while retaining all my files installed in program files and information?

    Original title: Gareth.

I have 64 bit laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I just bought a new Windows 7 Professional and legal (OEM) version. How he use to upgrade my version of Windows 7 and keep all my files installed in program files and information? In other words, not a clean install!

Unfortunately, there is no option to do an upgrade, because what you have is an OEM license.

Please note that the Express upgrade does not support OEM, MSDN-Academic, Volume (the student faculty licenses) license. If you are in possession of all these brackets, you will need to save and do a custom clean install. If you want to do it, please backup your Windows 7 Home Premium or according to edition currently installed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/24/how-to-backup-your-installation-of-Windows-7/

If you want to keep your programs and files, you will need to use a full version or upgrade Windows 7 professional retail license and use the key with the Express upgrade.

    OR

    Purchase an upgrade with anytime

First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click the option to purchase a key. Wait while loading of the Express Upgrade page, click on the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade to buy it.

Click Next, fill in your details (it is important that you do this because the product key will be sent to you as a backup in case you need to reinstall) enter your credit card information, click next to begin the upgrade, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement , click upgrade, wait while the software updates, (it may take 10 minutes or more, depending on the case, updates are required), your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a windows will pop up by notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional, your files, programs and settings stored, proceed to activate Windows 7 Professional.

  • If I update to windows 8.1 through my local account, all my files and all my information are saved?

I have windows 8 on my desktop, I do not use a Microsoft account to connect to it, I use a local account. If I update to windows 8.1 all my files and all my information stored? and I will be able to connect to my local account without losing any of my information, such as files and app?

Original title: I have a Local account on windows 8.

Yes, absolutely.  This 8.1 update is really pretty as a Service Pack or set of updates.

The only thing I can think of that can only be an impact for you, it's to the point 8.1 of Windows, you cannot use SkyDrive (now called OneDrive) unless you use a Microsoft Account on your profile.  In other words, you can not just use 'on the side '.  That could be a deal breaker if you rely on OneDrive to store all your files and settings.  But if you are not using OneDrive today, then it don't you impact at all.

What version of Windows you want to transfer is irrelevant. What
you need to do is just transfer to another computer.

There are several approaches to do this. What is the best for you
based primarily on the amount of data you transfer. Here are a few
    choice:

    1. transfer on diskettes.
    2. transfer to CDR or DVD.
    3. by email from the old machine, and read e-mail on the new
    one.
    4. the two computers on the network and simply copy the files on the
    network.
    5. temporarily (or permanently) install the old computer's hard
drive in the new computer and just copy the top.
    6. use a USB
