    Hello

It of very clear. The installation of the recovery CD supports 2 recovery options.
Standard mode 1.) (and 2.) Expert mode.

You must choose expert mode. There you can choose the partition where the OS is to be installed.
In this case that the data on the partition by choosing will be formatted.

  • HPE-400f: upgraded to SSD drive, partitions are left behind I need help to remove.

I upgraded to 250 GB SSD

I did the recovery disk and install it on the new SSD. How can I now safely remove partitions and merge it with the original disc of ssd? I want to use the 1 TB as a storage for programs to run off the SSD device how to do this and remove the operating system?

    Greetings,

Please refer to thisarticleon partitioning and formatting a HARD drive using disk management.

Yet once, you will be able to remove the volume of the BONE and, possibly, volume HP_Recovery Microsoft disk management. The reserved 100 MB volume will likely be removed using third-party disk management software.

Do not use HP Recovery Manager to remove the HP_Recovery Partition. You remove the HP_Recovery Partition SSD , not the HP_Recovery Partition of HARD drive.

In addition, it is not necessary to remove the reserved partition of 100 MB system on the HARD drive because it is so small relative to the size of the HARD drive. It is hidden so you won't see it in Windows Explorer.

  • I have a few questions about the internet and partition recovery

I deleted completely OS X Yosemite and only left Windows. Now that I'm pretty sick of Windows and want to use my Macbook Air for real, I am using recovery of the internet (order and R) to reinstall OS X.

I backed up all my data and that you haven't stored anything in my Macbook. My questions are: (I know they are long, but they are quick to respond)

    1. I want to erase everthing on my Mac. I have now 3 partitions. After starting and pressing command + R, I would use disk utility to erase everything, like this .

After you click Delete, would be merged my 3 partitions in 1 and I could repartition my Mac?

    2. I want to create a partition for OS X Yosemite (and possibly upgrade to El Capitan). What is the minimum recommended size for partition OS X Yosemite? (Because my SSD is only 128 GB)

    3. Let's say I create 3 partitions, let's name A for OS X, B for my data and C for reinstalling Windows. If I boot into Windows, I'd be able to use (read and modify) data on B, or just OS X could do that?

4 the amount of data I should download during the recuperation of the Internet? I guess that much since I'm downloading the OS X package, but my internet is quite slow, so I want to know how of SGB I have to download.

5 If I asks me to enter the Apple ID to download OS X, would any book Apple ID?

Thanks for reading. I would be extremely grateful if you answer my questions. See you soon

    • 1: Yes.  You want to create a volume of GPT partitions.

I have a HP 2000 2b09wm. He just broke, gives me the error message saying in that I needed a new hard drive. Suppose the old went kaput (even though I bought this pc on eBay not a month or two before). I have a new HD and a Windows 8 reinstall the software from a dealer on eBay. I tried several routes to try to reinstall the OS, resulting in many dead ends *. I asked the dealer to help, but did not get much. The last thing he offered was to remove the partitions in the new HD. I looked at a page eHow, how to remove Partitions on a hard drive. It is said to get a CD which includes fdisk.com. I burned super fdisk (2 MB) of SFbootablecd.iso and fdisk (40 MB) of fd11src.iso. I went into the BIOS to set the boot order. I put the saved first, CD/DVD-ROM internal drive and tried the two CDs. It always starts with just a screen with this:

    Not found boot device
Please install an operating system on your hard drive
    Hard drive (3F0)
    F2 System Diagnostics
For more information, please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startup

I even tried to put the CD/DVD ROM USB drive first... same results.

So my questions to you, I guess, is first of all, why the CDs fdisk is not start? I burn the evil fdisk? Second, do you know why my OS couldn't be installed using the software to reinstall? The guy I got it (http://www.ebay.com/itm/181524428825?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) , verified_computer_specialists, has excellent comments, so I guess that the software is legitimate and the computer is actually original with Windows 8.

    Thank you.

  • Windows 7 own re - install, don't delete old partitions

I'm doing a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate (already installed, I just want to start over again) on my Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook.

It's a netbook without an optical drive, so I plug an external one, insert the Windows 7 disc and change the boot order in the BIOS to make it work on the first disc.

When I get to the section "Where would you install windows?", listing all them were leaving, I have my list. It includes a former OEM with Ubuntu partition, I had originally, the system reserved partition, and partition that I got the OS installed on. There is also a Volume containing the rest of the disk space that I used for data & files, etc.

Anyway, when I click on advanced, the options to remove are grayed out. It is therefore not let me remove these partitions/volumes, in order to create the space to install the OS again.

I thought that it is a problem when the installation of installation runs from the current hard drive, but I can assure you it is the start of the DVD.

  • Cannot create custom on the dv4-1318tu HARD disk partitions

I have the model of HP dv4-1318tu, which have 320 HARD drive. The hard drive has only two partitions (factory settings) are C280 GB) and another D20 GB), which is taken * beep *.

But I want to recreate the so-called partitions C (60 GB), D (120 GB), E (120 GB) etc. So I tried to recreate the partitions, but all the time it takes to factory settings. No option can't change/remove partitions.

I also tried to create the partition in disk management, but only 20 GB (factory settings D is coming in the shrink option)

NB. My OS is Vista Home Premium. So, how do I create partitions of customs?

    Thanks a lot guys.

After you have reinstalled the operating system with the settings I could reduce the disc 50% C.

    So now, the scenarios are:

    C drive 140 GB

    80 GB of disk D

    E disk 80 GB

I think Yes drive C use unnecessary additional 80 GB and I can't shrink the C drive too.

    What should I do?

  • Cannot remove Datastore ESX 3.5

    Hi ESX veterans.

I am a novice using ESX, and lately I just install ESX on a new Dell server, with 6 x 450 GB configured in a Raid 5 environment. I realized that once the ESX is complete, and VI client infrastructure is installed, there will be a default data store created using all available space with a block size of 1 MB.  In the latest installation of couple on older servers (which worked well), I simply remove the data store and to recreate another large block data store, so I can do a greater volume to install my OS.  But this time, I get this error:

Configuring the host error: DestroyVmfsDatastore: cannot remove partition 2 on lun vmhba1:0:0

I tried looked up the forums, but none seemed suggestion a resolution in my case.  (perhaps of persons using a SAN... etc, but the mine are internal HD from the server).  Some said that to do a re-scan, some have said go to maintenance mode, some said re - install all the ESX Server, which I've tried all.  But just can not remove this data store.  Acutally, I have not "mind leaving this one data store, as long as I can create a volume larger than 256 GB it contains.  Can anyone give me any suggestions?  Thank you.

    WingKChan

    Hello Wingchan,

I don't think so that you can delete the partition your ESX Server, which is the more necessary to partition VMFS. You can delete when you have several stored VMFS mounted on your ESX. I'm assuming that the... but not sure.

However, since you have to change the size of the block. You can try the VMFSKTOOLS command to change the size of the block. Remember that you will lose all the systems of comments that uses this data store. Please move them to the secure location if necessary.

I put a link here to how to change the size of the block. (not my blog, obtained through Google)

    http://techblog357.blogspot.com/2008/01/ESX-Server-35-general-system-error.html

To run this command, you must take the ESX Server console.

Can some tell me why my USB keyboard stopped working after I upgraded my mac OS X EL Capitan 10.11.4?

Seems that Apple had broken the old apple keyboard wired usb on OS X 10.11.4. New Apple wireless keyboard worked fine.

Was not working at boot time and didn't work with windows bootcamp and did not work when started from the recovery partition, so it must be a problem with boot loader.

Reseting EPRAM and SMC has failed.

Time Machine restore to old 10.11.3, 10.11 install USB appears to only way to solve the problem.

With old 10.11 usb install, because the keyboard did not work at boot time and restoring from Time Machine backup starting 10.11.4 recovery partition broke my fusion disk partition tables. I had to manually destroy disc fusion and remove partitions on the hard drive and ssd of command-line diskutil and create new logical volume of fusion in the car and after that he restore backup from Time Machine.

Very well of the keyboard now work but lost 1 day and Windows 10/bootcamp partition in the process.

Try to start with a utility cd to remove partitions, create 1 partition and format the hard drive. I had good results with the free Partition Wizard. Download the iso CD Bootable here . Download ImgBurn here to burn the image to a cd.

When all operations with PW are done trying to start with your recovery discs again. Be sure to disconnect all external devices such as printer, etc. Just keyboard, mouse and monitor attached.

If all else fails, you can buy a new recovery media for $20 worth of HP. They are available on the page of the software/drivers for your model:

I have a new laptop HP with Windows 8 zbook is installed. I downloaded all the drivers for Windows 8.1 and am about to take the advice of Microsofts and modernization to 8.1.

However, if I need to reinstall Windows 8 will it take the windows product key? and where would I find that? It is in any of the usual places, under the battery, on the merits of the case, inside the service door...

    Flank Steak,

It depends on how you install 8.1.  If you update the store of the partition recovery will be unaffected and will be kept for Windows 8.0.  After recovering, you need to update again to 8.1.

If you do a clean install and reformat/remove partitions, you need to have created recovery disks or ordered from hp.  These will be Windows 8.0 and you need to update to 8.1 after recovery.

8.1 there is a Microsoft feature for creating a System Image disc.  Maybe what you need.

  • I got a laptop with xp family inside and I have a level home w/cd key xp can reinstall to renovated and or fix make work better?

the computer is part of a network and works slowly, I got the upgrade cd and used to change vista to xp,

    Hello Russblondin

Steps to perform a clean installation of Windows XP. You said that its an upgrade but you have installed with Windows Vista. Are you sure its upgrade? Windows XP will not install without an eligible operating system or already on the system or if you have the older operating system disc. During installation, we will give you the option to delete the partitions. If you have the data on the hard drive backed up then please delete all listed partitions. Removing partition will remove all data! This will free up all the space on the system. If you have any questions please let me know. Thank you.
  • Cruzer slice 16 gb flash drive

Hi, I havce just bought a sandisk cruzer 16 gb flash drive. I went to the to use for the first time and wanted to pass a file is about 4 GB in size. When I tried to do that it came with the destination disk is full. Can someone tell me why she said this when he has 16 gb free, so 4 GB must ExacTen on?

    a few things here.

first the player you have a u3? and if yes there are 2 partitions. a u3 system and the other will be a removable disk. u3 system partition is a partition protected cdrom and data cannot be written for her. You must copy your files to the removable partition.

I also noticed that you said that the record is almost 4 GB. is that one or more files? If a single file, you have to reformat it to NTFS to copy files of 4 GB or more. This is a limitation of the FAT32 file system.
