  A pretty easy regedit should remove an application from the section "recommended programs". Here is a procedure step by step on how to do it. Unfortunately, I don't think that will solve your problem. What seems actually to have occurred is either your .lnk .exe (or maybe both) have inadvertently been associated with WMC. Out of the list of the programs recommended for the open with dialog box will not change. In fact, the next time that you open the program, it will open in WMC and add automatically return a program recommended in the open with dialog box.

  There really should not be whatever it is that you open a .lnk or .exe with because you really don't want to open them... you want to run. To determine if the .lnk or .exe associated with wrong, you can either watch the extension file associations in the control panel > programs, or you can see if it's a shortcut or the actual executable file that does. Need to know who, or if she is at the same time, in order to complete the fix.

  No need to worry, we're here to help you and guide you in the right direction.

  The windows.old folder is the old system files. Be sure to copy all the files that you can out of the Windows.old folder before you delete it. Once deleted, they are gone. You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do the steps.

  The Windows.old folder contains the following folders:

  • Windows
  • "Documents and Settings".
  • "Program Files."

  The Windows folder stores mainly programs and files that are required to run the previous version of Windows.

  The "Documents and Settings" folder stores mainly the 'My Documents' folder and the Favorites folder. In addition, the "Documents and Settings" folder stores the office files that have been used by the previous version of Windows.

  The "Program Files" folder stores mainly programs have been installed on the earlier version of Windows.

  There are two ways to delete the windows.old folder. Here is the simple step.

  Method 1: Delete the C drive.

  (a) open Windows Explorer, click computer.

  (b) select C drive and you will find the Windows.old folder.

  (c) make a right click on the folder and click Remove.

   

  Method 2: Remove the "Windows.old" folder using disk cleanup

  Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 to the custom help, but do not reformat or distribution of the drive... found the orginal ok data and also a windows.old folder... impossible to remove completely this folder, even with hidden files, showing its empty but says 6 files are present... the mistake of deleting I get is...   The Version of the process is carried forward from your LR catalog previous edition. Unless "update you the process version" it will remain the same. It is better to update the one-at-a-time images according to your use of the image file. If it looks good with the old version of process go forward and this continues. If an image has a problem with details of highlight or shadow, then this is a good candidate for the update to Version 2012 process. LR "will convert automatically" your settings for the new PV, which may seem very well. If this is not the case, reset the settings of your PV2012 to 0 by default by clicking on the word 'Tone' in the base Panel and repeat.

  You can select "Disable automatic restart in the event of system failure" and the next time that the system restarts, you should get the "Blue Screen of Death" (BSOD).  This will include a stop code and other diagnostic information that can help people help you here.

  3. Once the files load from the CD, press R to enter the Recovery Console
  4. You can get about choosing an installation; the usual answer is C:\Windows

  At the command prompt (C:\Windows >) type the following and press enter

  CHKDSK c: /r

  Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

  You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

  The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

  It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

  You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

  When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

  Press any key to boot from CD...

  Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

  Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

  Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

  You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

  You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

  C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

  The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

  For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:
