Remove the shaded blue icon on the desktop

the icons on my desktop are dark blue. They seem very irritating. I tried to remove the blue (I need transparent) but no luck. I tried all the options mentioned on the internet (i.e. the performance tab, unlock web items and remove the shadow of the menu), but none of them work. can you please help?

Check points: -.
1. in the performance and Maintenance/adjust Visual effects or if you use the classic theme - settings/system/advanced/performance
'Use the shadows of the desktop icon labels -' must be checked
2. right click on the desktop, point to arrange icons by and ensure that items Web Lock on Desktop is unchecked;
3. If you have content web on your desktop, transparency does not do a right click on the desktop. Select properties, then go to the Desktop tab.
Click on the button customize the desktop, and then open the Web tab.
Uncheck everything in the box of Web Pages
Press OK, then apply and OK again.
4. you can't have a file html as wallpaper, it must be an image file.

It is sometimes necessary to restart to take effect, sign out and then sign back in.
You also sometimes have to uncheck things if they are checked, apply, restart if necessary, and then back into the re - check the items.

  • SYSTEM authorization to remove the desktop icons?

I just created a second user account on my laptop Win7 Home Premium. When I opened the new account first, there are the desktop icons for programs I don't want on the desktop (I do not want those who use the new account to easily access these programs). When I tried to move them to the trash, I got a notice that I need "authorization SYSTEM" to continue. Then, I changed the account to an administrator account to see if that would work. There can be no. I got the same message. How to remove these icons on the desktop?

    Thank you.

    Hi John,.

Please log in as administrator before you can remove the icon.

Log in as administrator. Once you are on the desktop screen, press Windows + R to open run.

Today, Type C:\Users\ access then the username folder that you want to change.

Open the Desktop folder and delete the icon you want.

  • Is it safe to remove the desktop icons rest after a support session remotely Microsoft Tech Support?

    Hello everyone,

Some time back I had experienced problems with Windows Update continually advising me the KB2538242 was ready to be installed.  After a lot of hassle, I finally got help from Support staff technical Microsoft through 3 sessions of Assistance to solve the problem remotely.

At the end of the last session, there were several icons left on my desk. (A couple of the names associated with the icons are: desktop.ini & redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ MFC 2005).   Some are .exe files and some are presented as folders.

My question: is there a way to HIDE these icons so that they will be displayed on the desktop, without actually delete files / folders / applications, icons are associated with?

(I'd forgotten there is no way to attach a screenshot (jpeg file) from my office, so everyone could see the icons I want to talk).

Thanks for your time and any clarification on this subject!

    Hello

Reboot and see if the icon is still there. If so, try the following:

Go to control panel/Folder Options, view tab, set the options so that you can see the hidden files and folders and show protected operating system files. You should now be able to see a desktop desktop.ini file. Delete and restart. See if that helps.
