I bought a new computer I have fried the old he came with win 8 I want to format the new HDD and install win 7 I have the os install disk

Hello

You are missing the important information in your Question; which is where did you get the Windows 7 disc as you mention a computer "fried".

If it is the 'fried' computer and came pre-installed on it, read on:

If the computer/laptop 'fry' came with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key provided with your computer/laptop to the OEM license preinstalled and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.

Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

__________________________________________________

If it's a retail Windows 7 disk, you use, before trying to install it on Windows 8.1 computer, find Windows 7 drivers:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

See you soon.

Windows XP genuine advantage is provided for the computer you bought in 2002, you can not go to install on another computer.

If you need run Windows XP, I suggest that you upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, and then download and install free Windows Virtual PC with Windows XP mode.

Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click the option to purchase a key. Wait while loading of the Express Upgrade page, click on the Windows 7 Professional Upgrade to buy it.

Click Next, fill in your details (it is important that you do this because the product key will be sent to you as a backup in case you need to reinstall) enter your credit card information, click next to begin the upgrade, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement , click upgrade, wait while the software updates, (it may take 10 minutes or more, depending on the case, updates are required), your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a windows will pop up by notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional, your files, programs and settings stored, proceed to activate Windows 7 Professional.

  • Helps to remove Windows Vista and install Windows 8

I recently bought Windows 8 after an online test (aka Upgrade Assistant) from my computer that says it would work. However, when insert the disc of Windows 8, it is said showed an alert/warning that it may work for Windows 7 but can not for Windows Vista or XP. The salesman at Staples said it would work (so the part of why I bought it), but it might remove applications and software I had installed, take it back to factory settings. I'm fine with that, I don't mind re - install Office and my other software. I would be very happy if someone could tell me how to get Windows 8 to install and remove Vista. Here are my computer record compared to Windows 8 requirements:

Processor - Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU 2.4 GHz

    RAM: 4 GB

Hard drive: 32 Bit OS, 350GB free 451GB

Graphics card: DirectX 10, ATI Radeon HD 3450, screen resolution 1024 X 768.

Your help is greatly appreciated, TIA!

No, you can't. No matter how many records he has, the computer was delivered
with a license for Windows 7, for a computer.

I would like to point out something that you may not realize: Windows 8
has two interfaces; the modern/Metro Interface (which may be all the)
you have looked at) and the traditional desktop Interface. You can use
    one or both.
This traditional desktop Interface is almost identical to Windows 7
interface; the biggest difference is that there is no Orb start
Click to bring up the start menu. But note that you can get the beginning
Orb back using one of the many third-party programs, either for free or
    very inexpensive (Classic Shell to)
    http://classicshell.sourceforge.NET/ and debut8 to
    http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/; my personal preference is
Debut8, but they are both very good).  And goes from an interface to
the other is very easy; There are several ways, but simply by pressing
the Windows key is perhaps the easiest.
Just install one of these two and using the traditional desktop computer
interface may be a better choice for you than going to Windows 7.
I use Windows 8, almost exclusively with traditional workstations
the interface and with 8 Start installed. If you were to look at and use
my computer, you would have a hard time realizing that it is not
    Windows 7.
And another new program third party that I love and you can
    the ModernMix $ 4.99 at http://www.stardock.com/products/modernmix/

  • I need to remove installed OEM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and install XP. Help please!

It is a new work computer, not my personal machine.  Our main piece of software, ACT! 2000, will not work on W7.  We bought the new law! 2010, but he does not play well with the rest of the desktop computers, server included.  I know that the best thing to do would be to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro, and then load Windows Virtual PC to run XP.  But because of $$$ and $$$ already spent on this new computer, upgrade to W7 Pro is not on the table right now.

And am not extremely computer, but I get.  :)  I did a lot of reading on the erasure of Windows 7 & install XP, and I've seen a lot read on hardware/driver problems: ATA, AHCI and SATA configurations... now I'm just lost.

Is there someone who can tell me, in terms of Joe 6-pack , how to proceed?

Once, my new Dell Inspiron 560 came loaded with Windows 7 Home Edition, and I need to remove it completely and install Windows XP, I have the disc.

    Thanks a bunch!

Unfortunately, Dell provides Windows XP drivers for this system, so any installation of Windows XP is not supprted by Dell andcan not work and even install

To install winxp you need a retail version of Windows XP, you must then boot from winxp cd and perform a clean installation

I came across your post about the issue of upgrade and he wanted to help!

It is possible to install Windows 7 on the laptop.  To do this, you need a Windows 7 disc.  However, it is not advisable for this laptop, as there are no Windows 7 drivers available for this product on the HP site.  So if you choose to install Windows 7, you can have a driver or compatibility problems.

Based on the following guide, here are the notebook upgrade options:

Supports up to 4 GB memory max (module DDR3L-1600 MHz) system

Supports the system according to conƭgurations of RAM:

    ● 6144 MB (4096 MB × 1 + 2048 MB × 1)

  • T500: Format and install XP-32 pro-life drivers?

I just bought a T500 and want to format the hard drive, remove the partitions and install my own copy of Windows XP Pro 32-bit.

I would like to get all the relevant drivers.  When I go to

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/product.do?brandind=10&familyind=422608&machineind=427443...

He asked that 'Type '.  Where can I find it?

Moderator Note: Type added to the line object for clarity.

You can find it on the bottom of your laptop on the right of the thumbnail next to the serial number. It might be in a four-number format (type), followed of a three characters (numbers or alphabets which is the model)... like these for example 2767-12U or 2261-CTO etc.

  • How to remove Satellite PSU44E U400 Vista and install Win XP

Because a large part of my specialized software is designed to work with XP pro, I need to remove my U400 of Vista Home Premium and install XP Pro. As others have found with other models Toshiba simply placing XP disc in the DVD drive results in "dreaded blue screen" with error 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, etc) and correctly configured hard drive reviews / looking for the virus/run Chdsk/F to check corruption.

Change drive HARD BIOS from AHCI to compatibility mode allows to XP disk load and run as "Press ENTER to load XP" but pressing 'Enter' does nothing; other keys have no effect either and the only way I found is to press on the On / Off button. Re change from "AHCI" to "Compatibility" there are also a lot of comments on other users for suggesting that using compatibility mode makes it much slower than the AHCI mode disk access. However, despite searching the Web using Tosh HDD not registered model (MK3252GSX) I can't find a driver XP ATA to nLite XP before trying again.

Can someone tell me a procedure they used to remove Vista and replace it with XP Pro on you U400 PSU44E please?

    Hello

I have a U400 and I ve installed Win XP on my baby with no problems.

There are two options; either you'll assign compatible SATA mode (in BIOS), or you leave the option in AHCI mode and will include the SATA drivers that are part of the Intel Storage Manager.
Intel Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Toshiba page (you can find it in the category U400).

I managed to include the SATA drivers with nLite and everything worked as it should.
PS; Win XP should include min. SP2!

  • How is it difficult to remove Win 8 h9 WANT Phoenix computer and install Win 7 Home Premium?

How difficult is it to remove a Windows 8 OS preinstalled on a new computer from h9 WANT Phoenix and replace it with Windows 7 Home Premium OS? Does anyone do this? If so, what kind of problems face?  In addition, you have all of the recommendations regarding this?  Where did you buy the Windows 7 program.  I am interested to do a clean install of Windows 7 Edition family on a HP ENVY Phoenix h9-1355 computer.

You must DISABLE 'Secure Boot' and ENABLE 'Legacy Support' in the BIOS, then save these changes. The next time you start, you enter the code provided to accept the previous changes. You must start the Windows7 as UEFI media to install Windows 7 on the GPT partitioned hard disk factory. You can buy a copy of Windows 7 with a valid key to install it.

The drivers below should do the trick, if you are bent on installing Windows 7.

Intel Download Center (Use the Intel driver update utility to scan your system for drivers up to date automatically and install it quickly).

AMD display driver (except HD 7770 is highly customized by HP)

    Broadcom wireless network controller driver

    Driver Bluetooth HP

Qualcomm Atheros Customer Portal (select "Family AR816X drivers", "WIN AR816X Windows WHQL driver", use WinRAR or similar to extract)

Hauppauge ATSC/NTSC/QAM TV tuner (Maybe not the correct driver)
