Rendering xml on browser?

Storm browser Simulator AND both give the same results.

I read that AJAX is supported in the browser and I've checked that the XLHttpRequest object works indeed.

However, the X in AJAX stands for XML, and again, I have to get the browser to display an XML stream without the following error: "this is a problem when trying to render the page.

Here is a sample of the XML data I'm back:

Directions >

f254339a

ActivityName > cycling

506c 3599

RouteName > SantigoCanyon

I also send the ContentType "text/xml" in the header.

It works perfectly normal browser, I've tried.

I'm ready to throw something, please give me some ideas of seriouly.

How do you use the DomParser object - do you have the code examples?

Also, have you tried using the property .responseXML of the XMLHttpRequest object? This will give you a Document parsed so you should analyze yourself.

  • Export the sequence XML file browse for use in another project

    When I generate a browse sequence based on the table of contents by using zero for the level of the pound, rather than get A, A1, A2, B, B1, B2, I receive A, B, A1, A2, B1, B2.  The table of contents first crosses all elements of level 1, cycles backwards through all the level 2 element, then 3rd level, etc.

    My solution was to automatically create the sequence to browse at level 0 and then manipulate manually to the output depending on how my readers would actually read my book online (IE A Aa A1 A1a A1b A2 A2a A2b B B1 etc etc).

    Now that I have my sequence in the correct order for this project, I don't want to repeat these steps each time I create a new version of my HLO for the guide even after that a few minor updates have been made to the source of the FM.

    There is a file named whbrs.xml in the output folder and contains the sequence order of travel that I specified in my no workaround.

    Is it possible to export this file to another location for use in another project that references the same guide?

    This methodology is much preferred, as I work at a level of the company with several documents (some numbering in the hundreds of pages) and do not want to have to manually use my solution for each project that I update in the next few years.

    Hi Kristopher

    You probably don't want to use that particular file, because it is an output file. You'd probably have better luck using the file ProjectName.BRS as this one must be a source file.

    However, keep in mind that if (or how) it will work completely will depend on having the recipient project using the same identical structure and identical file names.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Browser OS 6 VS ApplicationMenuItem

    Hello

    We are working on a simple application that uses an ApplicationMenuItem added to the ApplicationMenuItemRepository to perform its functions. We have all this work, and in general it works fine.

    However, on a real device of the torch OS 6.0.0.246 version we are facing a problem. After that a web page has been rendered in the browser, our section suddenly stops working within the browser application. He still appears on the menu, but clicking on it does fire the event to our application. If you click on the MenuItem BEFORE actually visiting a webpage (ie. on the first list of recent addresses, etc.) it works.

    OS version 5 and 4.5 devices have been tested and their browsers fire the event.

    The menu event also works well to other applications on the device of the OS 6.

    Someone has an entry on it, or see a similar problem?

    And after these steps, I restarted my application services as well as database services.

  • Chips list nav in IE6 rendering problem

    Hello

    Have a small and insignificant problem with this page strict html build http://www.jaydaniells.com/jdesign/ . Renders correctly in Firefox 1.5 on a PC but not in IE6. The problem: the graph below the horizontal nav bar style unordered list is partially hidden under the bar of navigation within IE6. I don't know that I fell on the hack for this fix in the past somewhere in a hut after a scout autour online tutorial, I have not been able to find the jolly think. Hoping that someone would be kind enough to provide me with a quick fix.

    The page is validated btw.

    validation means very little in terms of if the page renders correctly
    through browser.

    The problem you have is as a result of mixing absolute positioned
    layers with static

    containers, when he didn't need to.

    change your #navigation this css:

    #navigation {}
    font: 12px Arial, Helvetica, without serif.
    Width: 859px;
    padding-top: 6px;
    padding-bottom: 8px;
    background-color: # 625-07;
    text-align: right;
    }

    and your css #undernavgraphic to this:

    {#undernavgraphic}
    background: #323100 url(images/under-nav-graphic.gif) top left no-repeat;
    height: 43px;
    }

    The result is a map correctly rendered in my browser, which displays the tags that I expected.

    Then, I changed the function of tagging on my theme of geometry: SRA_SUITE304_F1_ROOM, it if - 1, so that the labels of the object would not be displayed.

    Mapbuilder, I can get a preview of the theme of the geometry, and it shows that some labels are displayed.

    Always in Mapbuilder, I can get a glimpse of the base map where the theme of the geometry is assigned to, and the base map also shows that no labels are displayed for this theme.

    I saved all my changes into Mapbuilder.

    However, when I view my card (using the same HTML code) in the browser, maps still show the labels.

    I tried all of the following conditions:

    (1) purge the cache of the geometry for the data source of card assigned using the Console of Administration MapViewer

    (2) purging the browser cache

    (3) by restarting the server mapviewer

    (4) restart the entire weblogic server support

    None of these actions are causing card in my browser updated to display the map without labels.

    Note: If I create a new layer of tile using the same base map, my changes are visible in terms of browser.

    What I'm missing here?

    What cover do I need clear so that my card is displayed correctly in my browser after I have make changes to the underlying objects Mapbuilder?

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Thank you.  It was the last key to the puzzle.

    Here are the steps that I now follow to ensure that changes made to the underlying MapBuilder objects are visible in the browser.

    Perform the following steps:

    (1) change the subject (theme, style, Tiler, Basemap) in MapBuilder and save all changes.

    (2) using the the Console of Administration MapViewer, purge the updated metadata cached for each affected data source.

    (3) the server MapViewer, erase the map Cache Directory.  The location of the map Cache Directory is specified in the file mapViewerConfig.xml under the heading 'Card Cache Server Setting'.

    for example

    CD

    rm - rf *.

    (4) delete the cache files and temp of the browser for browser you use (for example, IE, Firefox, Chrome).  If you think that you are not completely empty the memory cache, then use the "private browsing" feature of the browser to view the map.  You should then be able to see the changes made to the map in the browser.

  • Question for the experts: SVG vs GIF

    Hello everyone

    Lets say I have a website that is filled with a variety of simple and complex, smooth white icons. These icons will be resized in muse where necessary, sometimes they will be with reduced opacity. The site is heavy on Parallax scrolling and fading (opacity) and most - if not all - of the icons will use one or two scroll effects.

    Exporting since illustrator GIFs are sometimes smaller in size than the SVG.

    The target audience is supposed to be decent and updated computers for example, IE 8 and below not relevant. Assume that all users have a browser able to handle SVG and parallax.

    What is better or easier for the browser? SVG of GIFs? even if the size of the GIFs is reduced?

    renders SVG quite complex (several anchor points) 'harder' than the GIF?

    No reason to prefer not SVG except for worms backward compatibility with older browsers/machines?

    What would be the best practice here?

    Any discussion/advice greatly appreciated.

    Jorge Vallejo

    First, GIF should be avoided in favour of PNG: a well optimized PNG is always smaller in file size and also offers several options of quality (for example more than 256 colors which allows to GIF). The problem is that Adobe products cannot achieve this without jumping through a LOT of hoops. More information below.

    This is a bitmap - SVG performance comparison:

    (1) SVG files should be drawn & rendered in the browser. This means that the xml data must be read, interpreted and displays - which is much slower than a bitmap. A png must still be uncompressed, which does not take a lot of processing power. Make an SVG, it is much slower (incomparably slower depending on the complexity).

    (2) bitmaps are usually hardware accelerated (via the GPU), a number of operations of svg is not. For example, I believe that css transforms for SVG is not hardware accelerated and so very slow animate with this method.

    (3) some old browsers have trouble made a lot of individual objects of SVG. For example, only in March 2014 this problem was solved in Firefox.

    (4) svg performance depends heavily on the specific browser as well. Take this test:

    http://jsperf.com/D3-SVG-opacity

    It runs faster on opera and IE 11 on my system! Firefox is terribly slow.

    (5) the SVG rendering is much slower on mobile platforms. Unless very simple, convert png files.

    Now, regarding your files: a size to 500Ko SVG is a LOT - and then you mention that you will have more files SVG from less then 100 KB up to more than 200 KB. My question would be what kind of chart, they will be on your page: background graphics, icons,...?

    In addition, SVG images produced by the Illustrator can (should) be optimized. A good tool for this is SVGO: svg/svgo · GitHub a Visual version can be downloaded at svgo/svg-gui · GitHub

    A few items must read:

    http://CSS-tricks.com/using-SVG/

    http://jaydenseric.com/blog/how-to-optimize-SVG

    http://kylefoster.me/SVG-slides/#/

    If you do a lot of animation, and there are a lot of other things happening in a page, then PNG is the way to go. SVG is preferable for icons and graphics simple logo. Developers of games using Flash always convert all their vector files into bitmaps for much better in Flash!

    Now to my second point: Adobe Save for Web function is catastrophic for the optimization of png. Yes, there are Photoshop techniques to improve optimization of PNG images, but it takes a lot of effort:

    http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/07/15/clever-PNG-optimization-techniques/

    PNG Optimization Guide: more intelligent Techniques - Smashing Magazine

    And even after all that work, again, you cannot export a PNG image with a color palette limited with total transparency in Photoshop or Illustrator. It is important for the size of files: especially Muse Web sites tend to be so inflated that they take a lot of time to load up - and there's really no reason for this if you optimize your graphics properly.

    To optimize PNG files, use the quantifier of color:

    Color quantization

    I can't live without this small tool (freeware) - you have to start up your mac in Windows mode just to use CQ to optimize your png files. It supports automatically optimize your png files, reducing to a minimum - compared with the standard backup of Photoshop for the Web disaster, files are at least 50% smaller file size or more. And it includes a very simple to use quality mask brush that allows areas of control/fix which can be annoying when the reduction of the number of colors.

    That said, it really depends on the type of chart, that you intend to put at your disposal. Could you post some examples?

  • Using PDF as image format

    Hi, manage users

    What is your opinion on the use of the graphics with PDF format when creating DITA content, as I'm not sure that a PDF is supported as the graphic format in DITA?

    Reason for this is that I'm moving from using grapics with format (exported from cad) WMF to SVG, but I experienced some problems when you import graphics with SVG format in FrameMaker.

    Sometimes it works, but not always, for example "the filter has encountered a problem and was able to complete the translation.

    Also, I tried to check if the files are valid with the W3C online validator.

    Best regards

    Ronny

    Hi Ronny,.

    I'm not an expert of DITA, but given that no one has replied yet, I'll try to add a little something.

    I don't think that DITA cares about image format, but could your tool for creating and editing platforms. For example, FrameMaker can make a PDF file that you create, but I do not know if another XML editor would be like oxygen. Then for the publication, some formats may make a PDF (as another PDF) format, but a web browser could not (for HTML). Perhaps cares DITA or maybe the OT Toolkit can automatically convert image formats, but I'm not aware that one of these are true. An expert of DITA weigh.

    About importing SVG, I also had problems with the import filter. I don't know if there is no response to this. I think FrameMaker SVG support is not very good. I tend to use WMF files because they are much more reliable, but still they cannot be rendered in a browser for my HTML output. So, I actually maintain the WMF PNG versions and all my vector art. I automation to manage this (macros) in Visio, conversion extension file when editing HTML, etc., so the overhead is small enough for me. This may not be the case with you, if. Overall, I think the real question is the problematic SVG support, which I don't believe you can do anything.

  • Html and XSLT

    Ok.. losing my mind here. Running on AIX 11.2.0.2

    I have a xslt transformation to generate the html document. Some of the html will come from the end user... which I fit to the XSLT to create a final model. A few problems that I encounter:

    -tags br... regardless of what I'm trying, can't prevent the output of the transformation
    <br></br>
    The problem is that it's originally double-line breaks when rendered in a browser or a mail client (using this to generate html emails)

    Example:
    declare
    l_xml xmltype;
    l_html_part clob;

    begin

    l_xml := xmltype('<content>This is a test</content>');

    SELECT  XMLSerialize(document XMLtransform(l_xml , xmltype('<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
      <xsl:output method="html" encoding="UTF-8" omit-xml-declaration="yes"/>
      <xsl:template match="/">
        <html><body>
    <p><xsl:value-of select="content" /></p>
    <blockquote>
    Some text <br/>
    on muliple <br/>
    lines<br/>
    here.
    </blockquote>
          </body>
        </html>
      </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>')) as clob) into l_html_part from dual;

    p.l(l_html_part);

    end;
    Generates the following text:
    <html><body><p>This is a test</p><blockquote>
    Some text <br></br>
    on muliple <br

    </br>
    lines<br></br> here. </blockquote></body></html>
    I tried to change the method of output from html to xml... but nothing helps.

    Now I admit input html to end users to integrate into my xslt (which allows end users to customize the html template), any other question, I have to avoid? I intend using a javascript wysiwyg on the front-end Editor, store the html entry as much as possible, so he is well trained. However, dealing with entities and URLS means that I might have to scrub the html a bit more away?

    For example, the URL will contain sometimes & in query... String and the... parameter values must be escaped
    &amp;
    While the other URL encoded...

    Thank you for advice or guidance.

    Did not realize the effect...

    XMLSerialize with INDENT option will display empty items in their abbreviated form:

    SQL> SELECT XMLSerialize(document XMLtransform(xmltype('This is a test')
      2  , xmltype('
      3
      4

    8
    9 Some text
    10 on muliple
    11 lines
    12 here. 13
    14 15 16
    17
    ')) as clob indent) 18 FROM dual 19 ; XMLSERIALIZE(DOCUMENTXMLTRANSF --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    This is a test

    Some text
    on muliple
    lines
    here.

    How do you do it? (recessed part)

  • &lt; compress-html-template &gt; does not work

    Hello

    I use as true in the weblogic.xml Weblogic 10.3 application file and set attribute 'compress-html-template. After that when I access my browser JSP file, I don't see any improvement in the size of the HTML file rendered on my browser. I also checked with HTTPWatch tool and not seeing any reduction received the same file size there are spaces, extra lines in the file of HTML rendering, not sure why.

    My weblogic.xml file looks like as below

    Hey Fabian,.

    Please visit the following link: http://middlewaremagic.com/weblogic/?p=5916

    Also, I see that you use your web as application context root * "/ bea_wls_internal" * which is strange because it is reserved for the internal WebApplication provided by WebLogic.

  • Enumerated value of invalid: validationState

    Hello

    I need help, desperately.

    I made a form using Desinger ES2 and define its target version 9.1 or later.  When it is rendered in the browser/standalone with Reader Version 9.0, he'd jump on ' no valid enumerated value: validationState ', twice...

    I do a version check to the formReady form event, it hides the form if the version is not > = 9.1, as well as opens a message box telling the user that they do not have the latest player and should be updated or the shape would not display or function correctly.  BUT our customer is still not satisfied with the sollution and complains to see this popup when they load in 9.0.

    I need help getting rid of this popup in version 9.0 please.

    Kind regards

    Nelson Wei

    Hi Nelson,.

    First off I would recommend that you do not remove script from inside the XML Source. Yes, it is possible, but could easily break your form, potentially irreparable.

    If you select the root node (form1) and go into the script editor. Then see the ValidationState select drop-down list, you can quickly scroll down, and in this case to find the script object. I suspect that this is in any case in the form1 node.

    My experience is that when you disable required fields of color in the properties of the form, this LC Designer removes the automatically generated code. If you changed the code beforehand, he could not detect it and remove it.

    Compared to v9 and below there are a number of ways to manage the validation - is doable, but not as simple as v9.1. I would recommend John Brinkman's blog because it has some samples of forms strongly (but stylishly) coded "show errors". http://blogs.adobe.com/formfeed/. Search for 'validation '.

    Send a standard button will pick up if a required field is null and automatically highlighted in red. However for the fields that are needed and have a value OR fields that are not required and have an invalid value, LC/Acrobat will allow to highlight these in red.

    Out-of-the-box validation will give you an error message if the value is not valid. That happens off the field and on submit - no coloring. You can add a line of code for the other buttons (such as print), or in the case of pre-press, to validate before they perform their own script:

    form1.execValidate();

    Would he use as test in an if statement, so that the form would print only if the data were valid.

    So:

    • lowest solution, individual postings on specific objects, you hear a lot of alerts, the user must take into account and no color highlighting.
    • Follow John Brinkman solutions to manage the validation of custom functions.
    • Users upgrade to v9.1.

    I hope this helps,

    Niall

  • apex_util.prepare_url - by the way a comma between the item values

    Hello

    I created an application to illustrate a problem I'm having with the help of apex_util.prepare_url: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=test_prep_url

    ' Tab ' without prep. url "displays a chart linking from this page (1) 2 using the usual f? syntax of p in the link, through two values, one for p2_schema_name and one for the p2_job_name values hidden on page 2. It works fine and the page 2 table displays data based on these past in values.
    The link is set up as: ' f? p =' || : APP_ID | ':2:' || : APP_SESSION. ": NO:2:P2_schema_name, P2_JOB_NAME:' |" schema_name | ',' || JOB_NAME

    ' Tab ' with prep. url "displays a chart which links from this page (3) on page 4 use apex_util.prepare_url to prepare the connection, passing two values, one for p4_schema_name and one for the p4_job_name in the values hidden on page 4. However, the decimal point is rendered in the browser '% 252C' url and p4_schema_name has the value "SCHEMA_A % 2CJOB_3" and p4_job_name is null (instead of = "JOB_3"). Of course, no data is found.
    The link is set up as: APEX_UTIL. PREPARE_URL ('f? p =' |: APP_ID |) ':4:' || : APP_SESSION. ": NO:4:P4_schema_name, P4_JOB_NAME:' |" schema_name | ',' || JOB_NAME)

    So I say to myself that I send you the value of point across properly, but I don't know what I would do differently. I hope the demo app described my problem enough so that someone can point out my blunder.

    The reason why I use APEX_UTIL. PREPARE_URL is that I would like to use session state protection and through the amount of control, but until I can get the sorted comma, I can't turn on session state protection.

    Thank you for your help.

    Alan

    Update: it is not prepare_url that does. Prepare_url encodes the comma in the list of item as % 2 c values. Then when the table XML gets converted to a blob for output, the % sign is encoded again. We will have to figure out what to do about this. In the meantime, only one element value can appear in the f? p link in a flash (fixed SVG chart) chart.
