Renovated RAM for laptop? Notice please

I recently got a new laptop from Dell E4200 bright who was supposed to have 2 GB of RAM.  After a pleasant (but long!) call to Dell technical support, I received approval for an extra GB of RAM.  And that's the extra ram arrived in less than 24 hours!  I must say that I am very impressed overall with Dell Technical Support staff.  (Utah based.)

Here's my dilemma.  The "new" 1 GB of RAM has a bright orange tag on it saying "refurbished".  I'm not at all comfortable renovated Installing ram in a brand new computer.

Does anyone have comments and/or opinions?

I'm very grateful for any help you can provide.

Thanks in advance

PS. I'm new to this forum.  Hope I'm not raising a subject that is already the subject.

    1-4 + 4 GB
    2-4 GB + 8 GB
    3-8 GB + 8 GB

    Thank you

    From the Manual:

Two customer accessible/upgradable memory module slots

Support for dual channel DDR3L (1600 MHz)

Support 8192 MB RAM system in the following configurations:

    8192 MB (8192 MB × 1, × 4096 MB 2)

    Manual download link

See page 53 for instructions. Memory access is easy via the service Panel. This is the part number for the approved 4 HP concert module:

    4 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 691740-001

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-691740-001-4GB-1600MHz-PC3L-12800/DP/B00CI08FX4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1451655870 & SR = 8-2 & Keywords = 691740-001

A 8 GB module is listed in the manual, and it's a 3rd generation of processor i5 I suspect 2 x 8 = 16 concerts would work, but strictly following the manual your only option is to add a 4 GB for a total of 8. Most users really not more 8 GB and adding a second identical module will allow two-channel operation, so you should see a noticeable jump in the overall performance.

  • Adding extra RAM for laptop HP Pavillion

I know that I can add 1 G more RAM for my HP dv6000 laptop which currently has 1 gig of RAM for a total of 2 G.  But since I upgraded the OS from Vista to Windows 7 with SP1 64-bit, clocked at 1.6 ghz, do I add even more to reach a total of 3 G or 4 G?   It seems that the limiting factor is the speed of 1.6 ghz.

It is a 2 GB max model with an AMD processor. You have meg modules 2 x 512, you need to throw it and buy 2 x 1 gig modules.

    This is what you need:

    Hi Ho Xu Zhe,.

The Inspiron N4010 system supports dual channel DDR3 SDRAM SODIMM with speeds of 1333 MHz memory.

    1. Yes, brand RAM memory Kingston (KVR13S9S8/4) is compatible with your system. You can install the 2 GB of DDR3 RAM on the slot 1 and memory of Kingston on the slot 2.
    2. 1600 MHz clock speed memory is not compatible your system.

  • Max ram for laptop G60

I have a G60 laptop mod # VD896AV and I'm having trouble finding what is the maximum amount of ram I can put in this unit.  Can someone help me?

    Hello:

On models CTO HP does not provide care.

To make things worse, your model does not have a service manual that are linked where you could look for memory upgrade info.

My suggestion would be to run the free analysis tool of Crucial memory, which will report how much and what type of memory can use your laptop.

    http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

Now, I found this repair G60, and you can watch the plug in Chapter 1 and see if you have any material such as the processor, which corresponds to what is indicated here.

If you have a processor that is mentioned in this manual, then the news of memory contained in the manual should also apply to your model.

  • HP Pavilion dv6-1225ei: upgrading Ram for laptop

I'm trying to exceed 10 32-bit windows. I want to upgrade to 8gig of ram. I know that I need 64-bit for this. I saw on the Intel site, I have a 64-bit processor, but it is a little old now. So I would like to know if it would be able to run 10 64-bit Windows until I have spend money on 2 x 4gig ram modules as they are very expensive here in South Africa.

I'll have to go back on a bit of what I said. The license key that appears on the certificate of Microsoft works on a 64-bit version of the Windows operating system that is already installed. This means that you can install Windows 7 (64-bit) and then upgrade to Windows 10 (64-bit)

For a direct upgrade, you need to purchase a license key 10 64-bit Windows.

The installed CPU supports 64-bit Windows versions. So yes, your laptop can handle it.

  • RAM for "laptop": speed vs quantity

I say "laptop", because I take delivery tomorrow of a Dell M6600, and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to use it on my lap...

In any case, the unit I get is available with 8 GB PC3-12800 1600 MHz RAM (4x2Go). It's OK for my immediate use, but I'm going to go up. The M6600 can run (4x4Go) 16 GB of PC3-12800 / 1600 MHz, or can go full-tilt boogie with 32 GB of RAM PC3-10600/1333 MHz (4X8Go).

Concretely, I earn more profits from the fastest RAM or RAM? CS6 will the NLE of the day, of course. I do not wish to do tons of editing on this system - well, what I mean is that it will not be my primary system - but you will see the field to use for things like ARRI Alexa clips and review potentially as a station of capture with the addition of some third party i/o devices.

In my mind, I can see benefit from these two avenues, but I want only to spend money once on the upgrade of the RAM, I am looking for a more objective point of view. Thank you!

  • P3C92PA #ACJ: Compatible RAM for laptop HP 15-af114AU

I want to update the RAM in my laptop (HP 15 af114au) by another 4 GB. What RAM Kingston will be compatible with my system?

This is because unless you are able to match the originally installed module exactly by a new one, you are quite likely to have a non bootable laptop or who has a BONE that recognizes only 4 GB of installed on the 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) mempory is physically prepared.

It is your choice to take the chance to experience that or not. Its your money frustration, time and possible on line.

Replace the two modules with an identical pair that is guaranteed compatible takes the element of risk and frustration ouot of the upgrade. When you install modules, clogged with Notepad and press the power button, it will work the first time.
